~ What’s Going On?

It’s finally the fifth grade, finally the last year of silly old elementary school. Kalie Parker, and her best friend, are part of the Excel program, and they’re all feeling a little sorrowful about the end of the year. But for now, they have better things to worry about, like how there principle is threatening to close the Excel program! But why, is all Kalie and her friend want to know. But when Kalie Parker writes a little story one night..
They aren’t sure anymore if they want to find out.

Description; Genisis has long, straight blonde/brown hair. Her eyes are a sea-green and she has freckles dotted all over her face. She's medium height and thin too. She never thinks she's considered pretty, but she is.
Personality; Genisis is outgoing and likes to speak her opinion- to most people. Some people she's scared of or dislikes a lot. Gen is usually kind and sweet though.
Subject Specialty; Reading.
Power; Anything she reads will come out of the book when she wants it too. Only certain parts though.

Kalie Parker blinked drowsily as the snooze button on her alarm blared. She sunk her head back under the covers, but managed to catch a glimpse of the clock on her bedside table. It read 9:25 am. She snapped awake instantly, for she knew that the bus came at around 9:30 am. Kalie jumped out of bed, throwing on her clothes and grabbed her backpack off the corner of her chair near her desk. She nearly tripped sprinting out of the room, and then as she flew by the table, she grabbed a piece of toast, shoved it in her mouth, and jumped on the bus as the doors closed. She panted, and found an empty seat. Everybody gave her looks, because they knew she was in the Excel program.

Genisis was an early bird, and never missed the bus unless it was a Monday or Friday, when she wanted to try and skip school. Evein in the Excel program, E-L-P is what she called it, school was still kinda boring." It's like, a problem if you like school." Someone had told her last year.

Kalie spotted her friend Genisis, sitting in the seat across from her. "Hey Gen!" Kalie called, smiling, tiredly.

Gen grinned. "Late again, my toast crumb friend?" She teased, pointing out the crumbs on her friend. She rolled her eyes.

Kalie grinned sheepishly, brushing them off. "Very, very possibly." Kalie said, then lowered her voice. "Did you hear about how they plan to close the Excel program?" Kalie asked.

(You'll have to explain the program to me. xD)

Gen nodded sadly. "I'll read something nasty out of a book if I need too." She whispered back.

(Basically it's just for kids who are wayy smarter then most kids their age, usually not in all subjects, just a few. It's the program I'm in at school.)

Kalie nodded angrily. "But what I wanna know is WHY? I mean, what does the principle have against us?" Kalie snapped quietly.

(Lucky. We have it but it's called ELP, Exended Learning Program. I'm not in it, even though I'm smart, my old school didn't teach me enough.)

Gen shrugged. 'I dunno. Beats me." She said defensivly. When the bus halted she stood up.

(Nice.)

Kalie got up, following her friend and ignoring the usual glares from all the kids. She rolled her eyes, following Gen down the hallways and to their classroom. "This sucks." She muttered.

Gen nodded. "It's so annoying." She said miserably.

"We're people too." Kalie muttered. "Granted we have-" Suddenly the principle appeared.
"You girls should be in class," He said sternly. "Go on now." He said, irritated.
Kalie rolled her eyes, walking past him and then sprinting with Gen to class.

Gen followed Kalie, sighing. She felt like glaring at the principal, but that wouldn't be smart right now, would it? She scowled after he was surely out of sight.

"He has something against us, I'm telling you." Kalie muttered as they walked into class. If it had been a normal class, all the kids would've turned and laughed and stared at the late kids. But not Excel kids, since not many kids in the school liked them, they were pretty tight with each other.

(SO true in my class.. xD)

Gen took her seat quietly, enjoying the time without glares." It's tough to be smart." She whispered, grinning.

"Psh, I know, right?" Kalie whispered back, grinning. Kalie never *really* paid attention to the teacher, and pretending to take notes was her specialty. Kalie suddenly got an idea while thinking about the principle, and started scribbling down her story.

Gen's eys flickered to Kalie's writing. She didn't read it, in case there was something bad in there.

(Psh. There wouldn't be bad things in my- Kalie's writing! Maybe.. No jk. Lol.)

Suddenly, Kalie looked up at the teacher as she called her name.
"Kalie? Do you know the answer?" There was a bunch of math written on the board. Kalie cocked her head at it.
"Uhm.. Five?"

(You see why she specializes in literature. Lol. Wanna time skip to them at the house or something? Kalie's or gen's, dun care.)

(Sure. Kalies.)

Gen rolled her eyes. "54 with a remainder of 12..." She whispered to Kalie.

"Oh. I knew that." Kalie muttered sheepishly, looking down at her paper.

-TIME SKIP-

Kalie grinned as they arrived off the bus at her house. She unlocked the door, careful to cover up her key under the mat before letting Gen and herself in. Luckily for Excel students, they got out earlier then the rest of the school and we home alone for hours before their parents got home.

Gen dropped her backpack by the door and zipped it open, looking for her book about food. She always kept it with her. She grinned and read some of it aloud and some snacks appeared on the table.
"I'm like, totally awesome." She giggled.

Kalie rolled her eyes. "You freakkk." Kalie said, but nodded in agreement. She grabbed a snack, and plopped down on the couch with Gen. "Wanna read some of my story?"

Gen shrugged. "Sure." She said, sitting down beside Kalie. "What did you write about?" She asked.

(I'ma gonna powerplay a bit.. Sorry in advance.)

"About our powers, but the characters are tweaked slightly. And the principle is in it too, he has powers too." Kalie said. She listened as Gen read it out loud, only reading part of it, her favorite part describing the principles powers and such. When nothing came out, Kalie frowned and shrugged.
