Shape-shifters: A New Generation (A PRP for Trustworthy Members)

I tried to calm my hyperventalation, and looked at my fur. It was golden, with spots all over, like a lynx.

I looked behind me. A fluffy black and grey tail. It reminded me of a raccoon. Then it dawned on me. I was one!

Oh god, oh god, OH GOD! I'm a cat! I thought, since talking was a stupid act.

I shut my eyes, and then opened them again, which seemed to shock me awake in most nightmares, but apparently not this one. I had eaten something, something had been tainted with something, because I refused to believe I had just.. shape-shifted, was it called? Into a lynx.

I shuddered. It wa too real to be just a nightmare. I expanded my paws.

I looked around at my fellow animal-people things. I was larger then all of them. My fur was a dark brown. I looked like a coyote. I looked around. I must be dreaming. Jacob was still in his own bed asleep not in the middle of a forest as a stinkin' coyote. I scratched the hard dirt underneath. I couldn't hear the police anymore. I suddenly heard Arabelle in my mind. Yeah... I thought looking at Arabelle.

I held by breath. Yeah.... I answered, in my head.

WHO IS THAT! I thought. I didn't want to have a nervous breakdown already.

Umm.. Am I supposed to be able too? I had heard what sounded like Arabelle's voice, I'm not sure from which animal, and it scared me because it sounded clear and crisp, though nobody had moved.

I don't know.. I froze as the police came up, had their little conversation, and left as quickly as they had come. But I know this isn't good. I thought, eyes wide.

I watched them go. Huh. So, I guess 8th grade officaly sucks. I thought bitterly to my friends.

Now... are we able to become humans again? I asked looking down at my paws. Still overly confused.

Dunno, I replied, still freaked out by my fur.

I swished my tail on the ground. I wasn't sure at all.

I wasn't sure either. Hmm.. I thought. Maybe if we think hard enough?

I nodded my furry head. I want to be human again... I thought and closed my eyes. I opened them after a second and looked down at my pale hand. Not fur covered anymore either. "It worked." I stated.

Only way to know is try! I thought before concentrating very hard. I thought about what I looked like as a human. I want to be a human again.. I opened my eyes and was realived to see my same tan skin. "Oh thank gosh."

I closed my eyes and thought of myself. I suddenly felt taller. Opening my eyes, I looked down. Feet. Toes. I grinned happily.

I smiled. "Now. School?" I asked raising an eyebrow. I knew the answer but, I was still asking.
