Valia~Book 1: A Princess's tale

"Aww, I didn't think..." Runa said feeling bad that Jared would spend all his money on her.

"No.. no I have saving left." He resurred her. She meant more than money. "I get a good living."

Runa made a mental note to slip a little extra in his pay. She smiled and hugged him, "You're wonderful!"

Eamon ran down to see Jake. It was a long time since they've talked, except when it was about Runa. He stopped when he heard him screaming at himself. "Jacob?" He asked. "Are you ok?"

((Hey Runa, where do you find your avvie? I want one!))

Jake had thrown his journal against the door moments before. "What?!" Jake sobbed, still sprawled on the floor, crying.

"You too." Jared said. He hugged her back. "Well, you look pretty in it." He commeted.

"Thanks," Runa said blushing as she twirled and her skirt flowed out.

Edward knocked on the door, softly. So soft that even he barely heard it. His hand shook and he knocked again, this time louder.

It was his first day as a servant at the castle and he continued to lurk in the shadows unnoticed. That was fine, he didn't mind being alone as he worked. But then he had been asked to serve tea to the princess. He hoped it wouldn't come to this but he was a servant here and he did as he was told.

"I wanted to talk with you. It's not about Runa," Eamon said, stunned by the loud bang. He picked up the journal and handed it back to Jacob. "I'm sorry, Jake. I want to apologize for... keeping you away from Runa," He said.

Runa went over to the door laughing. She opened it and saw a new servant, "Hi!" She said happily, "I'm Runa! I haven't seen you around here before."

Jake shoved it under the bed and sat up on it, "No... You got to her first.." he sniffled, "I just... She's the only thing that's ever gone right in my life and I don't know what to do without her..." he sighed. "But, I only want to see her happy, my feelings don't matter anymore..." he murmered the last sentance, looking up with a tear stained face. "Sorry..."

Edward blushed. "My name is Edward," he said. "Would you like some tea?"

"Sure!" Runa said, "You want some too? I'll go get it."

"I have it right here," Edward said, showing her the cart he was pushing that was hidden behind the door. "No thank you, my contract said I must not take from the princess because I am but a humble servant"

Runa cocked her head to the side, "Well your contract is wrong. What I say goes. And I say your going to have some tea if you want to." She said smiling.

"Um okay... thank you Runa- I mean your magesty" Edward stuttered.
What do you think you're getting yourself into?! he thought to himself.

He walked over to the little table next to the window and set down the cups. He poured the tea into cups, with just a little bit for himself. Then he pulled out a chair for the princess.

Jake sighed, "I-I gotta go, Eamon..." he said, not wanting to talk. He passed, and went downstairs to see Runa with... Another guy?!

(Weren't Jake and Runa supposed to RP??)

"Thanks and you can call me Runa," She said smiling as she took her hair down. It fell in sections down her back as she sat down in the chair.

Edward gazed at Runa as she took down her hair. He just couldn't believe how beautiful she was. Then realizing how dumb he probably looked he muttered a quick "Sorry" and sat down.

Jake slowly started to leave, but tripped over some carpet and made a crashing noise as he fell, "OOF!"

Runa hadn't noticed him looking at her and was confused as to why he had said sorry. She looked at him and asked, "So are you coming to my birthday ball tomorrow?"

"Oww..." Jake sighed, trying to pull himself up, but he slipped again. He looked down, the floor was soaked! He guessed someone had been moping...

Edward was still very surprised that Runa was treating him like an actual person...
"Well no, I obviously wasn't invited..." he said as he quietly sipped his tea.
