Wolf rolled his eyes. "Hmm.. Really?" He asked sarcastically, grinning.
Branch smiled, and finished her mouse.

Kira smiled. What good friends he had. "So, was it good Branchy?" He asked casually.

"It was great," Branch said, "Thanks Kira." She said. It had a double meaning in it, yes, she was thankful for the mouse, but it was Kira that had brought her to her senses, and not.. You know.. Killed him.

Wolf sensed the tenseness in Branch, and he put his tail tip along her back to sooth her.

((Umm,, There was a huge fight between MellowClan and JointClan. Mellowstar died, and Branch and Wolf got kicked out, or rather.. Kinda ran away. JointClan needs to rebuild, but I should've PM'd you, Sub, and Raincloud about doing a timeskip, if you guys agree of course.))

Larchstar was sitting at the middle of the camp, staring at the entrance.

She didn't notice the footsteps behind her, but once something brushed her flank she turned to see who it was.

"Oh, it's you..."

Brackenheart nodded.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked gently. Larchstar could tell he wasn't trying to be nosy.

Deciding to tell him anyway, she said, "I was wondering why you're down here with me now... instead of up in the stars." She nodded towards the sky.

Brackenheart tilted his head onto his shoulder and sat down. He took a breath.

"Whatever happens is destined to happen. So my return to the clan was my destiny, then yours was to protect us with all your nine lives." His tail lifted up off the ground for a moment as if a wind had blew it. "And it still is." He righted himself and blinked at her.

"The one I look up to isn't Addertail anymore." He mentioned his old mentor briefly.

-TIMESKIP! Months, at the most-
(Camp is rebuild, and JointClan is doing well. Who is Larchstar's deputy again? =D))

Branch smiled at her two kits as they play fought in the grass. Spring sunshine warmed her pelt as her kits rolled around in the grass, laughing and grinning.

Wolf stood by Branch, feeling like a proud father. "Fernkit and Graykit are amazing, they're perfect!" He purred, and then added lowly, "They would be apprentices in about a moon if we were still.. You know." Wolf said, flicking his tail. "In JointClan." He said.

Fernkit looked strikingly like her grandmother, Fernstar, and that was who she was named after. She was small, and curious, like most kits would be. She padded up and away from Graykit, and bounced over to her mother and father. "Mama? Why do we have 'kit' at the end of our names, and you don't have anything?" She asked, her head cocked.

Graykit bounded over. "That's a silly question, Fernkit. I wanna know more about where Mama and Daddy came from." He said, looking up widely at them. Graykit was like his father, a light gray, but with gray gray stripes instead. He had his mother's eyes, and made him look striking.

Branch and Wolf looked at eachother, and Branch hesitated before answering. "We lived in a Clan called JointClan. They were a group of cats, amazing cats, that lived together, and helped eachother." She began, leaving tons of holes about what had happened to her there, not known to the kits. "My mother lived there, and was a leader. "And my father is most likely still leader there. My mother died during a fight between MellowClan and JointClan." She said, leaving out that the fight was HER fault. "But she died bravely, as did Mellowstar, my grandmother, and your great grandmother." She finished.

The kits eyes were wide, amazed. "Wow, Mama." Graykit said. "They were brave!" He smiled, puffing out his chest. "Just like me!"
Fernkit was quiet for a moment, and looked troubled. "Mama, can I talk to you alone?" She asked, eyeing Graykit and Wolf, who were now play fighting playfully. Branch nodded, "Come on in the den, Fernkit." She smiled.
Fernkit looked awkward. "What did.. What did Mellowstar look like?" She asked, her eyes wide. She started to trembled, but tried to control it.
Branch raised an eyebrow. "Well, she looked like my mother, and you." She said. "But Mellowstar wasn't very nice. Why?" She asked.
"Well.. I see her sometimes. She talks to me, tells me about herself, and you, and grandma too. She tells me lots of things, weird things sometimes.. Sometimes amazing things." Fernkit said, eyeing her mother worriedly. What was she going to think? And what was she going to think when she heard Fernkit could read minds.
Branch's eyes were wide, and her mind raced. Mellowstar? Talking to MY KIT? Why..? She thought angrily.
Fernkit looked at her. "You don't need to be mad, Mama. She talks to me about being a great warrior, she says she can help me be a great warrior..?" Fernkit said, answering her mother's thoughts.

Kira had been visiting Wolf and Branch's kit's frequently. Now was one of those times. He padded into the bushes and (3,2,1) BAM! He jumped out of the bushes, hoping to surprise the kits, maybe Wolf.

Moonshadow now was calling himself a loner, of rogue. He actually sorta liked the life he had now. SInce the time skip, he's been talking more, and not butt kising anyone. ((XDD)) He could get used to it.

Branch's eyes were wide, and glued to Fernkit. She didn't speak.
Fernkit trembled, and felt something next to her. "It's okay, little one, your mother doesn't understand yet that its your DESTINY to be a great warrior."
Mellowstar's starry spirit smiled in her charming little way to Fernkit, and then at Branch. Branch flinched, and snarled. "BACK. OFF. MY. DAUGHTER." She snarled lowly. Wolf and Graykit did NOT need to hear about this.

Wolf wasn't surprised, and had smelled Kira coming. But Graykit, still a not knowing kit, stumbled backwards, grinning and laughing. "Oh! Hi Uncle Kira!" He said, padding up to Kira, grinning. Kira was called Uncle to the kits, because he was practically family. "Can you show me how to hunt something, Uncle Kira? I wanna be the bestest hunter ever! Even better then my parents!" He declared, puffing out his chest.
Wolf smiled at Kira. "He's amitious, this one." He chuckled.

-SKIPS TO NIGHTIME-

Branch sighed as she layed down, her kits, though almost apprentice age, snuggled close to her. She smiled down at Graykit and Fernkit, who slept soundly. Or so she thought. Fernkit was pretending, waiting for the moment when Mellowstar came to her. Finally, when both her parents were asleep, she got up, and silently snuck away.
"Good, Fernkit, good. Now, follow me, okay?" Mellowstar said, smiling. Ferkit nodded, and Mellowstar lead her first to MellowClan camp. "That was my Clan. They were great, and maybe could've ruled the whole forest someday." She said. F
ernkit's eyes widened. "Woah.. Amazing!" She gasped, her tiny face looked awed.
Then, Mellowstar lead her to JointClan camp. "This was your Mom, and your Grandma's Clan." She said. She kept on yapping, and finally, Fernkit, getting bored, snuck away for the second time that night. She suddenly bumped into a gray cat, and stumbled backwards.
"GRAYKIT!" She hissed lowly, her teeth bared. "What are you doing here?"
Graykit looked at her sternly. "I followed you, I saw you leave and got worried." He replied matter-of-factly.
Fernkit and Graykit began walking, not really knowing where they were going, and bumped into another figure.

Wingstar jumped backwards, and relaxed when he saw the rouge's he scented where mere kits. He smelled a tang of something, familiar, and then looked at Fernkit. "Holy StarClan." Wingstar said, staring wide eyed at them both. "Branchthorn's kits." He muttered.
Fernkit pricked her ears, and Graykit took the words right outta her mouth. "You know our Mom? And its Branch, not whatever you said." He added.
Wingstar nodded, "I'm her father. Now come with me."

Moonshadow hung out in one of the highest trees, allowing the moonlight to shine of his dirty fur. It had been so long since he had been in society, he had gotten a little.. erm, strange. But hey, that's what happens when you get away from a clan for so long.

Kira laid down to a nice rest after a day with the kits. He loved those two, and being sort of a part of their family made his heart melt. He couldn't wait for tommorow. Then he could teach them a little more and help them surviv- no, LIVE!

Branch woke up a little after Fernkit and Graykit left, and looked around frantically. They were missing.
"Wolf! Get up!" She hissed, shaking Wolf with her paws roughly. Wolf mumbled, turning over, and then Branch pounced on him. (xD)
Wolf growled, jumping up. "Who, wha..!?" He said, looking around. "Oh, its you." He said, calming down. "What's wrong?" He asked, not liking the look on Branch's face.
"The kits are missing, and I think I know where they are, but I can't get them alone and.. Yeah." Branch said really fast, looking extremely worried.
Wolf nodded. "Alright, I'll come. Lemme get Kira." He said. Kira was pretty much family, and he wanted his best friend to come with him. He sniffed the air, found Kira, and shook him awake. "Kira?" He whispered. "Wake up!"

Kira groaned before getting up. "Geez Wolf, it's almost Moonhigh, what d'ya want?" He asked, grudgingly. He had NO idea what was going on.

"Yeah, I know that. If it makes you feel better, at least you didn't get pounced on." He grinned, his teeth shown in the moonlight. "Branch woke up and, the kits are missing. She thinks she knows where they are, but doesn't want to go alone." He said. He was thinking that it was probably JointClan, and hinted thar a little in his voice. "I wanted you to come," He said.

While Wolf and Kira talked, Branch was freaking out. "If you weren't already dead, I swear by StarClan, I would KILL you." She snarled to herself, talking about Mellowstar.
Suddenly, the calico cat was in front of her, in her starry form. "Not my fault Fernkit snuck away, I was only showing her the Clans. She went on a little adventure. She's safe, along with Graykit." She yawned, grinning tauntingly.
"Are they with someone?" Branch asked, eyes wide. She wnated to slash the calico cat, but refrained.
Mellowstar rolled her eyes. "I know you won't be happy to know, but they are with Wingstar. You'd better hurry up before he tells your prescious kits why Mommy isn't in JointClan anymore." Mellowstar gave a charming smile.
Branch lunged at her, but she flew through her, and Mellowstar disappeared. Branch growled. "Wolf better hurry up," She said, hiding her distress.

"M'alright, let's GO!" Kira said, waking up. He ran over to Branch. "C'mon let's go," He said quickly. He needed to get those Kits back, one way or another.

Wolf bounded after him, nodding to Branch. "Lead the way." He said. He had to admit, he was a bit nervous. He hadn't been to JointClan in a long while.
Branch lead the way, and finally they reached the entrance to the camp. It was all familiar,yet very haunting. She nodded to Kira and Wold. "Ready? Let's go." She said, and stepped through the entrance.

Fernkit and Graykit heard the entrance, and bounded to it before Wingstar could tell them not to. They collided with their parents and uncle, and Graykit grinned. "Hi Mama, Daddy, and Uncle!" He said.
Fernkit just scowled with a dark look on her face, she stared up at her mom. "So.. Mom.. You never told us your a murderer." She accused boldly, and loudly.

Mellowtail and Stormrage were second to notice, and stood a little ways behind the kits. "Oh, looky here, its my sister and her little crew of traitors." She snarled to her brother.

Kira put his head down. "Oh, Starclan. She told them," He said to himself. He put his head back up and said to the kits, "C'mon, you're coming back with us."

Wingstar was surprised by the little kits bold accusation, and admired it.

Branch first nodded to Wingstar, Mellowtail, and Stormrage. Her face tightened, and she thanked StarClan that Kira and Wolf were there. She knew this wasn't going to be as easy as she would like. Branch nodded, "Graykit, Fernkit, c'mon, we're going home." She said firmly.
Graykit padded to his mother. Fernkit remained where she was. Mellowstar, light and star dotted, stood behind her. "Oh goody, I haven't missed the fun." She said, tauntingly.

Wolf growled, ignoring all the burning stares. "Fernkit, get over here, now. You listen to your parents."
"What if I wanna stay here?" She countered, eyes like daggers.
Mother like daughter. Wolf thought, and Branch spoke for him. "Evem if you did.. You think you'd be excepted? I was never excepted, even before I was a.." Branch paused, sucking in a tight breath. "Even before I was a murderer."

Kira hissed at Mellowstar. "You have no right to do this, you know," He reminded her. Kira walked over and whispered in Fernkit's ear, "You won't be liked if you stay here. It won't help you at all."
