Runa sighed and layed her head on her desk. She wanted the taunting to stop. She pressed down hard on the papyrus paper with the charcoal pencil. The tip snapped and she sighed. Runa got up and walked over to her sharpener and carfully gave it a point agian. She walked back over to her desk and sat down. She stared at her dragon drawing for a moment and then decided she couldn't focus. Runa got up and grabbed her jacket, going outside to sit in the park.

[I have the line minimum posted in the rules, Christmas Twilight. But even if it is only four lines, it must be four good lines. Not four lines like this:
I walked to the door. No one else was there. I sighed. I walked out.]

Jaidis finally got to her feet, the anger clear in her pale face. "Idiots," she muttered under her breath, stalking from the lunchroom. She didn't notice the sky-colored eyes that followed her, nor the tall boy who stood up from his table of friends, blond hair almost golden in the honey-colored light.
Jaidis nearly slammed straight into another girl as she headed towards the doors, and she stopped. The black-haired girl blinked - who was this?
"Out of my way," she said irritably, pushing past the other person.

"I wonder why she left?" Alex remarked quietly, resting his chin on one hand. "The girl there, with the black hair. Jaidis."
"Shut up, Alex," another boy rolled his eyes. "You don't have to obsess over her all of the time."
Alex clenched his jaw. "I'm not 'obsessing' over anyone, Marcus." He stood up, unconsciously ran one hand through his spiky blond hair, then headed after the black-haired figure. He watched as she nearly slammed into someone, then pushed past her. Alex followed the girl quietly to the door, slipping out just behind her.
"What's up?"

Jaidis nearly jumped again at the sound of Alex's voice. "Don't do that," she hissed through clenched teeth, turning around to glare at him with her violet gazed narrowed. Alex raised his hands, stepping back.
"Didn't know you were so jumpy," he remarked with a grin. Her glare intensified.
"Okay, fine, I'll stop scaring you." Alex's grin widened. "I'm serious, though. You look like a girl with something - or someone on your mind."

Jaidis shook her head. "It's nothing," she muttered, stalking away.

(Nods)

Lyla walked out of the library, feeling a chilly breeze wave into her face. She blinked, her eyes now dry, and stopped mid way down the path to gaze at the lake across the road. She looked both ways shortly and ran across, feeling the cold wind through her acid-wash skinny jeans. She shivered and looked for a bench around the small park area next to the lakeside. Somting drew her to a cast iron bench under a younge willow tree, and she sat down on it, looking out to the lake. The waves were choppy and swift. She formed a beat in her head while staring intently at them, tapping her foot on the smoot concrete, her hands making a simultanious tapping noise on the bench.

(The bench is not far off from where Runa is, perhaps?)

Runa ran her hand through her long brown hair subcontiansionly. She walked toward a set of swings and sat down. Thoughts and ideas raced through her mind as she closed her eyes and swung back and forth, slowly. She pictured Phoenixes, Dragons, Gryphons, and Unicorns all so life-like. Runa's eyes fluttered open again, she stared at her long boney fingers, the ones that made her drawings, the ones that created her characters, her stories, her art. Runa touched her fore-head and carefully disected how to draw a pheonix. Her fingers flew out in fround of her, as if she was actually drawing in the air.

"Alex, will you just leave off?" Jaidis hissed. "Others are staring."
Alex stopped throwing the small round stone, then let it fall. "You don't have to be such a worrywart, Jaidis, everything's fine. It's not like there are others like us, we're the only two dr-"
"Shut up!" She hissed suddenly, gaze narrowing. Jaidis stepped forward, out of the shadows, her violet eyes narrowing on the girl who seemed to be drawing in midair.
"Not like there are others like us, are there? I think you're wrong, Alexander Rocianto."
Alex rolled his eyes. "You always think that, Jaidis Myestar," he muttered.
"And I'm always right, aren't I?"
Alex let out a low sigh, but he grinned all the same. "That you are."

Lyla felt the music of the beat unfold in her head. She stared dead ahead at the lake, and started making motions in the air, as if she were playing an invisible Cello. Quickly she stopped and took a pale green folder from her bookbag, and flipped it open. her fingers finally found an empty page with music lines, and she drew in the measures. The other pages in the folder also contained music she wrote herself. Tiny, delicate scribbles surrounded the other pages, and soon filled out this new force of music. She flet the energy she had felt so many times before when she thought about or played her Cello, like she was flying, controlling energy...

She looked onto her other side and grabbed her Cello, which she had almost for gotten that she carried all the way from school to the library to here. SHe carefully unlatched its lavendar case and pulled it out. It slid perfectly inbetween her knees, and she fixed the end pin. Like magic, the sound she had formed only moments earlier from the steady beat of the waves had been conformed onto beautiful notes on her Cello.
A man passing by tossed a dollar at her and kept walking. She stopped, and took a breath. She just realised a few days ago that she held her breath when she played.

Runa stopped drawing in midair. She had heard something, someone, people. Her gaze flickered on two people standing near her. She instinctavly stood up, but something stopped her from leaving. Runa was drawn to the figures, she felt something perticular, that made her not want to leave, not want to go.

She walked closer, nochantly; hopeing the two wouldn't notice that she was listening in on their conversation. Runa grabbed a near-by newspaper and sat on a bench behind the two, hiding her face. She studied the two, they looked about her age, maybe. One was a guy, the other a girl. They almost looked like polar opposites; the guy appearing to be bubbly and popular with his short blonde hair; The girl appeared to be reclusive and mysterious with her medium length jet black hair.

Description - Maxi has jet black hair that goes to the end of his ear. It almost reaches his eyes in the front. He has forest green eyes that change to a lime green in the sunlight. He has semi-pale skin. He is abnormally skinny, mostly because he eats very little.
Typical Clothing:
He usually weaars a combination of pure colored t-shirts overlaping a different coored long sleeve underarmor. He wears his pure blue jeans that fades to a pale blue at the knees and back to a pure blue, except on special occasions. He wears his Nike red and black cleats, except for, like with pants, special occasions.
Accessories: He has his special mood ring that he wears everywhere he goes.
Personality
Maxi is usually quiet, but when aggravated or when asked to, he talks. He has low temper control, which is a major flaw in his life. He doesn't like to be in groups, saying that it's "A waste of time to spend time with people who don't include you." This being said, he isn't very social. He believes in the paranormal, the supernatural, so he uses his beliefs in many ways. He is very musical, so he loves to be able to play something on a instrument.

Description - As a phoenix, Maxi has a short, tangerine orange beak. He has Red and orange feathers, but when he losses his temper or something similar, he can set blue flames on his wings. He has pale yellow talons, sharpened to a point.
Markings: Maxi has a circle on his forehead, representing his mood ring, which works the same way.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE

Maxi walked through the snowy desert quietly, knowing the area around him was dangerous. He had been living here with his parents. Maxi was feeling lonely, so, He walked through the cold desert, thinking. He was thinking about if he should tell them, everyone he knew, about his secret. No! What are you crazy?! People aren't just 'magically' believe that you are a phoenix! His concience told him. He looked down at his ring; it was turning red for anger. "I wish they would understand," Maxi told himself. He stopped in his tracks, looked up at the sky. The nothern lights were shining above him. This calmed him down, changing his mood ring to grey. He smirked out of spite of his talent as he rtansformed into his Phoenix form and flew until he was a few yards away from home.
Maxi opened the door to his house, seeing his parents and older brother playing cards, like they always did. He waved shortly and ran to the stairs to his room. He felt exhausted, even though it was only 8:00 PM. He had a big day ahead of him. Tommorow was the day when he would leave Alaska and go to his new school. He didn't know anything about it, or where it would be, but it seemed that it didn't matter. He might find one of his own there. He pulled his journal off his desk and wrote in it. He wrote, This is my last day in Alaska for years. I don't know where I'm going, but I know one thing; my new life starts tommorow morning.

"Uh... Jai?" Alex asked nervously, noticing the girl come closer. "I think we have a pair of ears nearby."
Jaidis turned her head slightly, violet eyes examining the other girl. She looked tall, like Jaidis herself, except she had long wavy brown hair and emerald eyes. Jaidis's hand clenched as she noticed a faint marking under one eye; a swirl of some sort.
"She's one of us," Jaidis muttered under her breath. Alex looked scared. "You mean...?"
"Exactly." Jaidis studied the silver ring that rested on her right hand; the purple gem almost seemed to glow.
"It's safe. C'mon." Jaidis lead the way from the shadows, Alex jogging behind to keep up with her. He winked at Jaidis, stepping ahead, then stood at the arm of the bench.
"Hello, I'm Alex," he said conversationally, holding out one hand.

Runa was startled. She eyed the boy and girl then noticed that they had markings, like hers. Runa put out her hand wairly and said, "I'm Runa." She looked at the girls expression and went, "What? I know your like me. I see the marking." Runa's dragon necklace changed to the same maroon as her dragon form and she muttered under her breath, "No, not here, not now."

[Christmas Twilight, the reason the animal name is sometimes different from the human name is because the animal name is the 'secret name' of that character. :)]

Alex shook his head. "It's wise to not discuss such things here," he said in an undertone. Behind him, Jaidis muttered something under her breath. Alex whirled around. "What was that, Jai?"
"Nothing," she replied casually, grinning at him and showing her sharp teeth. "Nothing at all, Alexander."
Alex winced at the use of his full first name. "Please don't call me that," he said in a pained voice, eyebrows scrunched together to make the face look more convincing.
At that, Jaidis nearly laughed outright.
"You clown, let's go," she retorted, smacking his arm lightly. "We shouldn't be seen here. If they find out, we're all dead meat."

"They?" Runa looked at the girl quizically.
"Who's They?"
Runa stood up and stared at the girl with her piercing emerald gaze.
She grabbed her earlobe and started to pull on it, not even caring. She always did this when she got nervous. Her black and gold earings clinked together momentarily as she twisted her earlobe.

((TRUE: When I get nervous I tend to mess with my earlobe, I am so weird, Right?))

"Is there someplace we can talk? Out of earshot?" Jaidis asked quickly, ignoring the girls expression.
"Jai, don't be so rude, introduce yourself!" It was Alex's turn to smack her arm, except he didn't smack - he punched her.
Jaidis winced.
"Enough with the punching, Phoenix," she muttered under her breath as she stepped away. "I'm Jaidis, by the way," she said, turning to Runa. "The school's local dragon freak."

"Welcome to the club Jadis, I'm Runa, Dragon freak extrodinare." She looked at Alex, "You're a Phoenix, I presume and you Jadis... A dragon?" She said barely above a whisper.
She looked at the both of them and said quickly, "My house, there's a forest behind it, I got there all the time, I made a treehouse thing back when I was smaller, it's pretty high up and still durable."
Runa smiled a bit and said, "I'll show you."
She grabbed her things and started to walk toward her house, it was very close to the park.

Jaidis hesitated. "Can we trust her?" She murmured to Alex, keeping her intense violet eyes on Runa.
"I'm not sure," Alex finally replied, equally quiet. "She seems... safe enough, but you never know. And she's a dragon."
"Don't be stupid, Alex. You really think that a lydthwae would be on their side?"
"We never can be too careful." Alex sighed, then suddenly asked, "Have you seen Garnette lately?"
Jaidis frowned slightly. "No... I haven't." Her frown was replaced by an unruly grin. "She hasn't seen me when I've seen her, though. I've stayed hidden."
"Jaidis, do you know how dangerous that is?!" Alex hissed in fear. "Using your powers when they are here isn't exactly a wise decision!"
"I will do what I wish with my magic," said Jaidis coldly. She stalked away, after Runa. Alex blinked after her, staying still for a moment, then sprinted after her, his blond hair tossed back by the wind.

"So, where are you from?" Jaidis asked as she jogged up beside Runa. She was careful to keep her violet eyes fixed on the girl's deep emerald ones, hoping that her ruse would prevent any unwanted questions. Careful, Jai. Careful, she thought, maintaining a steady pace as she walked beside the other dragon.
