"I'm going to catch some prey. Do you want to come with me?" Winds asked.

Dew hopped to her paws and padded over. "Why not?" She smiled, and led the way out of camp.

Badger watched them leave, grateful for a moment of peace from his sister. She wasn't like that to everyone, just him. Why does she like to annoy me? He wondered as he closed his eyes.

"Well, Ok then," Winds said. He turned his head to Badger for a second to see what he was feeling. Not so good, I guess he thought to himself as he walked.

Dew sniffed the air for prey. She picked up the scent of a mouse, and saw it scrabbling under fallen leaves near a nearby boulder. She crouched and leaped, catching and killing it quickly.

Winds also sniffed the air, and caught the scent of a rabbit, he padded silently toward the scent and injected his claws into the prey, instantly killing it.

Dew carefully hid her mouse and scraped earth over it to hide it, then sniffed about for some more. She saw a small crow pecking at some old twoleg food, and she dove towards it. It gave a squalk and tried to fly away but Dew caught it anyway.

Badger lifted his head and yawned. Standing up, he stretched and looked around. Dew was still hunting with Winds, so he'd have some peace.

Badger flicked his ear at the sudden commotion, trying to mask his embarressing yip.
"Nice catch." He barked to Snowfall.

Badger watched the wolf walk away. He couldn't understand why Dew had chosen him to be the Beta, he was so quiet. He figured he spoke when it was required.
Badger padded just out of the camp to the nearby stream to get a drink. Then he saw something in the bushes. A twoleg! He growled and the twoleg started backing away. Then it ran off. Badger snorted. Who knew what twolegs wanted with them.

Dew grabbed her prey and glanced back at Winds.
"We should get back" She barked around the prey she held in her mouth.
She turned and padded back towards the camp, her long black fur blowing in a cool wind.
A storm is coming... Dew thought.
