Honeycomb followed Eaglefeather to the border. "why can't we go follow the scent?" she whined. she loved acting like an apprentice.

Sandstorm yawned, and stretched from her nest she had built. She smelt that clan cat again, and growled.

stormpelt was looking for a good hunting patrol. He smelt cat. He growled. As he followed it, it got stronger. He picked up his pace, and ran into a cat. Thats what I smelt! he mumbledand looked up.

Snadstorm turned swiftly to face the grey tom. She barred her teeth. Sandstorm's grey eyes glinted, and her pelt shined in a ray of light.

"you must be the newcomer to Leafclan. well i'm Stormpelt, deputy of Leafclan. And you?" he said. His eyes were locked on hers forcing a answer out of the she-cat.

Sandstorm nodded.

Eaglefeather shook his head. "If we get this done quick enough then maybe we can catch up with Foxfur and Rosefrost," he meowed to Honeycomb. "Basicly, if you want to do something, stop whinning and hurry up!"

"Fine, fine." she mumbled. they got to the plains, and Honeycomb took a good look at the orange sunset, and sighed.

Eaglefeather didn't notice her sigh, and wandered down to the river border. After renewing the scent marks there, the charcoal warrior padded back up to Honeycomb.

"Done?" she asked. and waited for an answer. When she sighed before, she had hoped he didn't notice.

"Yes, let's go meet up with Rosefrost and Foxfur now."

Rosefrost stalked along the forest floor, gaining in on the scent.

"I lost it!" Called Foxfur. lets go back now, mabye its a new member of Leafclan. He added.

"Okay," Rosefrost agreed, even though she didn't want to go back to camp. "Let's just wait for Eaglefeather and Honeycomb to get back."

"o.k" And padded over to Rosefrost. he spotted Honeycomb. and told Rosefrost.

"Honeycomb, Eaglefeather," she called. "We lost the scent, we're going back to camp now."

Eaglefeather flicked his ears irratabily. "Okay..." he muttered.

"what?" yelled Honeycomb. "You did!?" oh well. she thought. "Fine i guess lets go."

Rosefrost nodded, turning around and padding back to camp, with Eaglefeather following close behind.

Foxfur was on the side of the Rosefrost. "I need to talk to you Rosefrost. He said, and looked at Eaglefeather and Honeycomb. "Privatly" He added.

Rosefrost nodded, adding a sideways glance at Eaglefeather and Honeycomb.

Eaglefeather rolled his eyes, but in the end he padded over to the fresh-kill pile.

'Eaglefeather, go tell Moonstar about the snent and refreshing the borders. and Honeycomb, umm.. go check on the apprentices. and Rosefrost you know what to do." he added.

Eaglefeather dipped his head and padded over to Moonstar's den.

"Rosefrost, I-I'm wondering if I asked you to be alpha, would you?" he asked?

Rosefrost gulped. She could hear the beating of her own heart throbbing in hear ears. "Um... Foxfur... It's not that I don't like you, because I do. But I think we should give it more time... before you decide that," she answered.

"I wasn't going to ask you NOW it's because Moonstar knows where together a lot. She asked me to try." He stammered."I think it does to." He said embarresed.
