Sootstar padded around the camp aimlessly. He was tired of looking for more cats to join his clan. They had been searching for days. He retreated to walking in the forest. he sulked around, tasting the air. Suddenly, an unfamiliar scent passed him. He pricked his ears for any sounds, and followed the scent until he saw a gray she-cat in front of him. He stayed alert and slowly approached. "Excuse me, but you are trespassing."

Dapplestep chewed the burdock root into a pulp, and spit it out onto a large green leaf. she hummed as she folded the leaves' edges inward, and kept it shut by placing a rock on top of the package.

Later, the beautiful dappled she-cat arranged the patient nest's in the medicine den. She wondered where Sootstar had gone.

Dapplestep let out a loud sneeze as a piece of the Horsetail she was gathering tickled across her muzzle. She swiped a paw over her nose and picked up the feathery fern, taking it back to her spacious den. She stopped to look at a dragonfly, resting apon a large, frosted leaf that morning, but quickly realised what she had been doing, and gathered herself for camp.
