Whitefeather grinned sheepishly. "Sorry," she replied, pausing to think for a bit. Who was Fauna? she wondered. Was it Shadow Scar's mate? A sister? Or someone else? It hardly even sounded like a wolf name to her. She wanted to ask, but... she also didn't want to upset Shadow Scar. "Okay," she sighed finally, unable to think of what else to say. After a few more seconds of staring at what was left of the deer meat, she nosed it toward him a little more. "Why don't you participate in the feast, at least a bit?"

Mika-Mei was woken from her sleep for seemingly no reason. At first her ears didn't catch it, but then she heard something: a distant howl. It sounded very far away, and it would have been hard to recognize if the plains weren't as open as they were. The light pink wolf's ears pricked. Dex? Immediately she lifted her head and her eyes widened as she tried to catch the last of the sound. It was Dex! Quickly she stood up, ignoring her lightheadedness from getting up too quickly, and dashed toward the source. "Dex!" she called back, as loud as she could without actually howling. Soon she broke out of the trees and saw Dex's dark shape tearing across the plains toward her. "Dex!"

((Well, I was going to make Uisce go back to the pack at some point, but I guess you can put him on the loners list until he gets back. Just remember that he was a hunter, not a fighter.))

The snake started after the ocean- colored wolf silently, scales clicking and breaking twigs. Celestia was losing control. "F-Fell!" The reptile writhed and started to turn black and orange, hissing into the air and plunging to the ground. "Uisce..." Came a darker voice from within the snake. "RUN!" Celestia struggled to take control from the demon invader.

((I knew you would say that. xD Uisce is still just an adolescent, after all.))

Uisce didn't even need to be told to keep running. Afraid that the giant snake might chase him, he kept zigzagging in random directions, anywhere but backwards. He definitely wasn't ready to go back to Pond Dust yet, so he would go around that... and it would take a while to get back anyway. Just keep running and it won't get you.

Celestia released the rocks and they dropped all around the snake as the two wolves fought inside of it. "Zabranjen! OUT!" The green wolf barked from the snake, but most likely no- wolf heard. Zabranjen snarled at her back through the reptile, but then left as ordered. It wasn't worth the fight. The cobra returned to Celestia's markings and she gasped for air as the rocks orbited around her and she changed back, collapsing to the ground. "You demon." She spat at him as the hybrid walked away. The green wolf rolled onto her back and stared up. The snake had returned to the deep woods before Fell left, leaving her in the quiet darkness among a random pile of granite rocks. Where did her blue brawl companion go? He turned tail and fled from Fell's threats as he possessed her snake, but the demon had taken over the earth-form's senses so the small female had no sign of him. Great- she thought, tired from battle with both of them and now alone and probably far from the battle site. Which also meant both of them were off track of their course north.

As the sound that had been emanating from behind him ceased, Uisce found his paws slowing. Fear drove him less now; he was pretty much completely convinced that the giant snake wouldn't find him. In fact, though it had an intimidating presence, he couldn't feel it anymore. Maybe it was just him. Celestia had probably given up when he ran away. Something big like that would be at a sizeable disadvantage moving through trees. Though his scratches stung, he started padding cautiously back in the direction in which he had come, keeping his eyes, ears and nose open for threats.

Celestia heard something returning back through a path, and bent her head over backwards on the rocks. "Uisce?" She called timidly.

Shadow Scar: "Whitefeather... I can't..." I sighed. "I'm Envy."

Dex: I saw her emerge from somewhere in the fields. I finally reached her, touched her nose, than looked down. "It's not right." I whispered.

Uisce pricked his ears. He had heard... just the hint of a voice. It sounded like he was calling his name, but he couldn't tell for sure.

"Celestia? Is that you?" he called out, stilling his paws. He didn't want to be making any noise right now, in case she replied. He kept his ears and nose sharp - maybe he did just catch her scent on the wind now...

Celestia laughed a little. 'Yeah!" She immediately got up and walked in his direction. "I am so sorry."

Whitefeather's ears flattened, and her eyes widened in dismay. Something slammed into her chest, or at least it felt like it. Shadow Scar... was Envy? Was the Sinner that everyone had been so worried about? But... he didn't seem like it. On the outside, he seemed like such a good wolf! Her icy eyes remained wide for a second, but then she tilted her head and then drew closer so that others wouldn't hear what they were saying. "I don't understand," she replied, trying to settle her racing heart mentally. "Why is Envy so bad?" Obviously the young wolf didn't know anything, but she wanted to do everything she could to comfort Shadow Scar.

Mika-Mei smiled as Dex touched noses with her, and her ears flattened against her head contentedly. But she opened her eyes in dismay as she noticed that he looked away. "What isn't right?" she asked, her bright pink eyes innocent. Her ears were pricked forward now with confusion.

At first Uisce had forgotten everything for a second, but then he remembered the snake, and flinched inwardly. "Oh, hi again." He kept his eyes and ears down, asking her, "Hey, I heard you shouting ... did something go wrong?"

Celestia nodded and sighed. "Fell. He always tries to take over rouges when they battle- some wierd quirk of his. I originally formed the snake and used it, but he made it speak and drove it to hiss and chase you. I am so sorry- there was nothing inside my power to do against him."

Uisce didn't look up. "Yeah, I guess it was just unexpected... this Fell doesn't sound like a very good wolf. I was wondering why you were acting so cruel all of a sudden." He hesitated for another second. "Don't apologize again." Another pause. "So what do we do? We can't ... kill him, can we?" For a moment, he raised his eyes just a little, and flicked his ears thoughtfully. "He sounds strong. But that scary snake of yours might do the trick..." He slowly rested his hindquarters on the ground, clearly not intending to move anytime soon. All that running had tired him out. Then he suddenly looked up. "Hey... is there anyway to combine our powers? Like, with teamwork?" He glanced at her purposefully, his blue eyes wide and curious.

Celestia looked sideways as if thinking, but then nodded gradually. "Possibly. With a little more training we could make two or just a bigger snake."

Uisce shook his head quickly, as if he had gotten sand on his face. "No, I mean, is there a ay we could combine them into one element if we use them at the same time? Like a mudslide." He swished his tail just a little. "Or I could learn do to something useful with my water and that could be that." He turned his head a bit to the left.

Celestia laughed inwardly. "I don't think I have enough control to make a snakeout of mud, but maybe."

Shadow Scar: "I... it's because if Envy or another Sin takes over, its host will become a nonstop murderer..."

Dex: "It's just... Dazzel died not too long ago... how did I move on so fast?"

"Murderer..." Whitefeather's ears flattened against her head. If Envy took over, Shadow Scar would kill everyone. "There has to be some way to stop Envy!" she cried very quietly, gazing up at Shadow Scar from a short distance. She was struggling hard to think of something. Earlier someone had mentioned how the Sinner would be revealed at the feast... if she remembered correctly. Maybe not. But if it was true, then everyone might turn on Shadow Scar! Just the thought made the winged she-wolf very afraid. As they sat, she leaned her small head into the black-and-blue wolf's chest. "Shadow Scar... please don't become a murderer."

Mika-Mei almost smiled. "It's not a bad thing to move on quickly, is it?" she asked with cheerful eyes. "It's better than grieving for far too long." Her tail wagged softly as she gazed at Dex. "Cheer up. Everything's all right." The pink she-wolf glanced up at the night sky, taking in all the silver of the stars. "I don't think Dazzel would be sad. I think she would want you not to focus on her so much that you forget what's going on around you." As she looked back, she paused for a moment, and then asked, "Isn't there a feast going on in Pond Dust right now?"

Uisce shook his head at first, thinking. "Mud-snake might be a bit awkward. I was thinking... that there could be a technique we could do by combining our powers." He swirled one of his forepaws around in the grass vaguely. "You can turn into a... snake," he said hesitantly, but then continued, "And I can make water snakes... could we make something advantageous out of that?"

((I finished the Pond Dust animation I was making, except it's not the one I was talking about a few pages back. For practice, I did an Uisce music video instead: it's here, if you want to see it.))

Celestia smiled. 'Oh yeah! We could just use each other's powers as back-up. Maybe alternate?" She was starting to plan it.

((Well, maybe. I'm not that good at frame animation on a computer [that's what DSi's are for!], and plus I wanted to do something next that doesn't involve Uisce. I was thinking of putting Dex to a song, or I could just skip straight to my first idea.))

Uisce didn't really get the point of alternating, but he visualized it in his head for a while before replying. "Well, that's - " He was going to say something else, but then an idea came to his head. "Doesn't water in extreme temperatures sting a lot if you let it come into contact with a fresh cut?" Glad that this was going somewhere, he started wagging his tail.

Celestia nodded. "Yes. Boiling water, I think." She cocked her head. "Why?"

Shadow Scar: "I'm sorry... it'll be beyond my control if I do or don't become a murderer."

Dex: I sighed. I guess she was right. Dazzel... is dead... the dead move on... so why can't I? "Yeah... there is a feast... but... I'm not gonna go."
