Alexsei just shrugged it off. "You know what? I'm gonna leave this to you. You know better than me, right? Then nothing's wrong with him, of course! My spirit-guide's a lunatic!" He waved his tail once and walked out.

((Sorry! I had trouble thinking of what to say in response to Dex's... monologue.))

Mika-Mei listened sadly as Dex told the story of him and Dazzel. It all seemed like she had known how it happened... Perhaps she had heard the story from another wolf in her travels. That was most likely it. But Mika-Mei's pink eyes were still sorrowful as Dex finished... yet there was one thing she could say for him. "Don't blame it all on yourself," the pinkish wolf said kindly, trying to look at Dex in such a way so that he knew that she was trying to comfort him, yet avoiding looking straight into his eyes, as the way of the wolf was unless one was challenging another. "Dazzel wouldn't like that. And it wasn't your fault anyway." She paused, thinking for a moment, but couldn't think of some way to finish without sounding odd. So she just left it like that. She hated to see any wolf this sad, especially Dex.

Whitefeather seemed a little... stunned as Shadow Scar headed off without another word. He sure was a strange one, she thought to herself, turning and watching the patrol leave. Sighing, she wished silently that she could be out there enjoying the thrill of the chase... But she also liked fighting, and that was her role. The winged wolf padded to the edge of the camp and sat down, wondering when she should do her next training session or something...

Gryon followed Shadow Scar, his senses alert for prey. He would be able to find something, but his fighting style didn't match the excellent skills of the hunters.

Dex: "I've just been so lost without her."

Shadow Scar: I looked back at the wolves streaming behind me. My son would be running with me soon. Crow was on his way from the Shadow Tombs, he should be here by night fall.I signaled my wolves to go different directions. "I want to hunt alone! You lot split into small parties of three and hunt." I sprung into the forest. I closed my eyes at the thrill of the run. I opened them to find myself at the stream. Fish would be good for the feast. I sat in the water. Small fish nibbled my paw and I shooed them away. I swam slowly and calmly to a rock in the deeper part of the water. I sat and let the fish get used to me. I saw a large one leap for a dragonfly. I leaped and only my tail grazed the water. I grabbed the fish in my powerful jaws and landed on the grass. I let the fish suffocate and carried it. I had to carry it to the entrance of camp sense it was covered in damp ferns. I covered the fish and ran into the forest. I found myself in a clearing. I was behind camp! I could tell it was undiscovered by the way the coverage was all around it. It reminded my of Fauna's hidden cave behind the waterfall. Fauna... I sighed. No time for memories now, I had to hunt for the feast. I saw a rabbit going into a burrow. I sneaked up behind it and grabbed it. I heard snuffling from the inside and I poked my head in. A mother rabbit and six children. I thought, if I killed them, there wouldn't be more rabbits for food later. If I didn't kill it, the pack would have less for the feast. But the winter was only a few seasons away, so I waited. I carried the rabbit and snuck through the brush without it being noticeable. I didn't want anybody knowing about that clearing! I berried my rabbit by a tree. I saw a buck grazing. I smiled to myself and leaped on its back. It kicked me off with its antlers which left me with a bad gash in my side.

Remi panted as they approached Pond Dust's old camp. "Here we are... what now?" He looked at her and then at the camp.

Celestia rolled onto her back in the grass, watching the canopy of trees sway in a strong wind. I wonder what that blue wolf is doing... She scolded herself. No....he's a Pond Dust wolf and you're a runaway. You shouldn't be doing this! Her consciense distorted her face to a frustrated tone. But what if he left Pond Dust for good?

Aeton padded over to Whitefeather and smiled. "Hey." He said simply. "I don't think we've met before."

(Probably but I only like Crow, lol)

Laya: "This isn't the old Camp, this is they're temporary one when they were looking for the island. Remember dad's old stories about the old old Camp and the super long journey! Well guess what we're doing today, Remi, we're running towards the camp until our paws fall off!" I darted off onto a path that smelled of wolves.

((Got it. Interesting.
I need to push Whitefeather along her little plot here...))

Whitefeather glanced up as Aeton approached her. Her icy blue eyes were curious; why would Aeton approach her at a time like this? Until now she had just been thinking to herself what it would be like to go out hunting with Shadow Scar... and the rest of the patrol... She could hear distant noises, but now they were lost into the ambience of the forest as she looked up at Aeton. "No, I don't think so..." the young white wolf replied, still pulling herself out of the last wisps of her daydreaming. Finally her speech became entirely conscious. Perhaps Aeton knew her name already, but as far as she knew, the only thing he had done with her before is order her around or something without actually saying her name. Still, she wouldn't say her name until he asked, just to avoid an awkward situation. Instead, the winged wolf smiled back and dipped her head to her superior.

Aeton smiled sheepishly right back at her. "Please, don't make yourself below me. We're at the same rank.." He laughed a little but with seriousness. "You're Whitefeather, right?" The slightly older male flexed his wings in the familiar eighted pattern once, and then sat down next to her. The way her eyes had drifted longingly torward the hunting party's trail made him think of somebody else....Aeton himself glanced away at an odd distance. "Wow- this is really awkward."

Remi laughed a little and nodded. "Okay Squirt, okay, let's go." He paused to pant a little. "After a short break, though. Swimming takes more work than flight, ya'know?"

Whitefeather seemed a little confused about what Aeton had said. She was sure that he had ordered her around before... But maybe that was someone else. Either way, she was surprised that he wasn't one of the older wolves. He was pretty mature-acting... until now. Whitefeather chuckled as he talked to her, and replied, "It's only awkward because you say that." She smiled contentedly, her eyes closing for a moment. He had wings, too... Maybe they were related somehow. But Whitefeather hadn't heard anything about anyone else from her parents. Perhaps it was just a coincidence.

A little embarrassed, the white she-wolf turned her head away slightly and shuffled her paws so that neither the black fleck on the left side of her muzzle nor her black paw could be seen, and all that was left was a profile of white. For some reason Whitefeather considered these imperfections, though she was never really bothered by them unless someone was standing -- or sitting -- right next to her. She unfolded her wings just a little, enough for her outermost primary feather to just brush the soft overcoat feathers of Aeton's folded wings. She was still curious, but it was true, this situation was getting increasingly awkward, and shyly the very furry wolf stood up, looking around. She thought she had heard something outside of camp just now...

( ooc : *takes really deep breath because I'm really scared of the reactions I'm gonna get* soo... look who's back. err, it's Fang. I poofed on the last Pond Dust thread and just vanished... I missed the last 23 pages of part ten ( my last post was on page 52 ) andd I just never came back... until now.

yes, you all can be mad at me, hate me, I don't mind -- I deserve it for being so crude and doing that to you guys. you all are too amazing for that to happen to, but I happened to be the one who left and supposedly died. so, all of you have every right to be angry with me. but i can explain. it's a long, boring story. in short terms, I quit because of life. failing school and such -- I just couldn't do it anymore. lately I've been thinking, and i wanted to come back.

i completely understand if any of you are annoyed or angry at me, as I said before. you have a right to be for what I did, and if it's possible, forgive me -- if not, I'm so sorry. i have read the new plot already, and I can read all 45 pages here that I apparently need to catch up on. you guys don't have to fill me in. and I'm serious -- I can read all 44 pages. just tell me, or you can just give me a summary and I can figure it out on my own.

oh, one last thing; I used to play Alice and Eclipse, both of which i assume varjak removed because I'd fallen inactive. eclipse was killed by violet in part ten, so I dunno if you'd want me to bring her back or not. Alice was pregnant with Iron Claw's pups though. varjak, feel free to tell me if that is still going on -- if not, I'm cool with that.

((Don't worry, Fang! I'm glad to see you back, if anything! I've had strange long breaks in the past before, so I would be a hypocrite if I was angry at you. I'm no Pond Dust history expert, so I can't answer your questions about your characters, but Varjak is usually on at this time.))

Whitefeather's eyes lit up as she heard Aeton's suggestion. She was good at flying, but probably not as good as Aeton was. She nodded eagerly, spreading her large white wings. "Sure! That sounds like a good idea." With hardly a moment of waiting, she crouched, then dashed along the ground and suddenly took off, circling in the air a few feet above Aeton's reach as she waited for him to join her. Learning new flying things would always be interesting. To be honest, Whitefeather didn't know much about it...

Aeton smirked and launched upwards like a comet. "I wasn't named Moon Bringer just for my markings, you know!" He barked downwards as he shot above her. "You have to get way up high to learn it well." Also streamed back behind him.

Cicero looked around cautiously, but finally made contact with Gryon. His face was predictable: Hunting Partners? was all over it. She nodded faithfully back and padded torward him. "Where to? ShadowScar often goes a few points off from the best hiding spots but Mika-Mei grabbed that route mistakenly." The three-tailed she-wolf informed him, because he looked like he was out of it.

( ooc ; 8D *eats* WE DO NEEDA CATCH UP. private message Orr...? I don't mind xD. and didn't our beloved var always come on at the weirder times? xDD cuz that's one of the many reasons why we love her :3. )

Laya: "Of course." I sat down.

Shadow Scar: I glared at the buck as it leaped away.

Gun: I padded to Gryon and Cicero. "I'll be the third wolf in the hunting party, let's go!" I nodded.

Aayumi: I padded to Aeton and Whitefeather. "You lot look like a fun hunting party. Ready to go?" I asked.

Shadow Scar: No time following the buck, another group could catch it. I thought of the fields just outside of the forest and how bison grazed there. Perfect! I ran back to where the hunting parties were still getting situated. "Time Talon! Let's go! You can hunt with me." The wolf smiled at me and he ran to my side, the wolf was larger than me but I was stronger.

Time Talon: "Plan, sir?"

Shadow Scar: "There are bison in the fields, the pack could eat one."

Time Talon: "How many bison?"

Shadow Scar: "Trust me, old friend, its summer now and there are too many to hunt. We could aim for a mother bison and kill her, then her calf."

Time Talon: "Greedy... but, all right!" I followed the superior wolf that I had been friends with our entire lives. After a long trek in the woods we reached the plains. I saw a large bison grazing with its calf. "There! And they're away from the group!"

Shadow Scar: "You fly above them and I'll sneak up, you'll know when to come in." I watched the white wolf with golden armor fly above them and began to circle like a buzzard. I snuck up from behind and leaped on the bison's back so it reared up, trying to knock me off. Time Talon swept down and surprised the bison with a bite to the throat. The bison tried to kick him while knocking me off, in the attempt she fell over. I slashed at her face to distract her while Time Talon slashed at her belly. She tried to kick him so he moved back to her throat and I got on top of her and bit the side of the neck. She looked at us, silently pleading but both of us bit into her throat and worked our way until she was dead. I let out a victory howl. The calf had run. "Good hunt!"

Time Talon: I licked the blood off my muzzle. "You too." Together we tried to drag the bison through the forest, it took a long time but we got it to camp.

Shadow Scar: I ran and collected my rabbit and fish and put them by the bison.

Gun: "No worries about being quiet, most of the animals here are used to noises, we live in the forest fter all." I giggled.
