| IAgents Three Preface -- Spoiler:
"Mmph, mmmhmhmph, Mm!" I struggled against the bonds, cursing a dark mantra in my head. Slowly, but surely, the blind-fold over my eyes slipped up and fell to the ground. My eyes adjusted to the harsh light, and I squinted, looking straight in front of me as the bonds holding my hands fell to the ground in a heap. Quickly, I leaned down and undid the bonds around my ankles before standing up and whirling around, "Time, please!" "Ten seconds... A little rusty..." Jay muttered, hitting the button on the stop watch and giving me a bemused look. "But... I think it's just enough to get us both a passing grade." He sat the stopwatch down on the small table next to the PE equipment and grinned at me, "And just enough to give us enough time to watch an episode of Buffy before supper." I pumped my fists in the air, and did a spin, "YESYESYESYES." Sweat was beaded on my brow as I grabbed my towel and wiped it off before blowing out a breath and scribbling my time down on the sheet. "Let's GO. I need to know what happens..." Sure, it was, what? The fourth time watching the entire series through with Jay, but we were both psycho fans of it. Seriously, whenever we sat down to watch it, nothing made us move except for the promise of food, and maybe hygiene, depending on how long we had been sitting. Jay chuckled as we both headed out of the gym that connected to the main boarding school's building and walking side by side with me up the staircase. "Just come to my room in about ten minutes." I muttered, turning and opening the door to my room. PE days were always fun, as long as you beat at least three standing records of the day in whatever assignment we were doing (rope tying, torture methods, or my favorite, sparring), you could leave as early or as late as you wanted. Jay and I always had it together, so naturally we peeved each other off until we beat a record out of spite for the other... (A little friendly competition never hurt anyone). Shoving open my door, I flipped on the light and sighed, looking around the room. It had been another exact year since we had successfully killed Victoria, Ethan, and Hanna James, all double-agents for Russia. Though, we still had the whole, 'In-Soviet-Russia-Double-Agents-double-you' thing going on (No, I didn't understand the sudden jokes everyone was making... that was my own sad attempt at one of them). Anyways, we had this whole dooms-day scenario going on, because Russia claimed to have stock houses filled to the brim with weapons left over from the Nazis... This kind of sent everyone and their brother into a panic in America. You just generally stay away from peeving off Russia unless you want to be scattered into a million little tiny pieces across the globe. Not many people really want to be blown to pieces. I WONDER WHY. Jumping into the shower, I scrubbed myself of all nastiness before hopping back out (like a rabbit...) (That was a joke.), and throwing on some jeans and a tee shirt. Dinner's at the 'School for Eternally gifted Boys and Girls' (Dude, can you make it sound anymore like some Catholic Cult?) weren't fancy like some boarding schools... I mean... we were spies, we lived on dirt and being dirty. We didn't like the white collar thing (Except for Ben and Dan, their obsession was terrifying), but, that didn't mean the food was terrible. We actually had one of the best German chefs in the world cooking for us. Since this year we were all scattered through the years (Anna, Lauren, and Blake all in ninth; Jay, Alley, Myself, and Jacob all in tenth; and Ben and Dan in Eleventh) we weren't really supposed to go outside of campus to eat, but saving the world twice kind of gives you veto powers on silly rules. Speaking of my friends, Blake Olsen, or Blank, was one of the top fighters in the Ninth Grade Class, beating out tons of sons and daughters of agents from around the globe, Anna was top in hacking databases and tons of little computer thingies, and Lauren... Well she was basically the one you went too when you wanted it done quietly and you wanted the person dead (or tortured, but she claimed that wasn't as fun). Jay was the cream of the crop in tenth grade, hacking computers like it was his day job and kicking people's butts around on the challenge courses and in PE (I hate to admit it... but he's beaten me... once or twice), Jacob was awesomely awesome at learning the histories of agencies and knew each one by heart, not to mention protocols and all that good stuff, then Als... Good ol' Alley was beating everyone at their game by one point above, the born leader. She was frequently sought out by younger and older students and asked questions that some of the teachers didn't even know. Then, you get to Daniel, or Danny, Danster, Dan the Man, and even Shersock Holmes (Don't ask). Back to what I said before about him and Ben being the 'White Collars' of the school. It was like James Bond on Crack when they both got ready for missions, though they did take it seriously, it was absolutely hilarious to watch Ben slap Dan upside the head when he was about to do something stupid and Dan whirl on him and slap Ben. Speaking of Ben, he was on an assignment right now in the French Alps, which Dan was supposed to be joining him there tomorrow, but we didn't know if that was going to happen with the whole, 'Russia-might-decide-to-destroy-the-world' thing. I shook out my hair and pulled it up into a loose and wet pony-tail before booting up my computer and checking my personal e-mail and my 'work' e-mail. Zippo on either, I was going to kill Ben, he had internet access in the extra pair of socks he brought with him and he didn't give me an update yet? Not that I had exactly been briefed on the current issue, but hey, he's my friend, my need-to-know basis was void when it came to assignments that involved friends. I learned that the hard way by keeping Jacob from all of them last year. There was a knock on the door to my room and I muttered, "Come on in," and heard it open. Upon looking up, expecting Jay or one of my other friends asking if I had any news, I scurried backwards and slammed into the wall my bed was pressed up against. "N-no... Y-you... It can't be y-you... I-I watched you d-die." "A little explosion won't kill Augustus Randall, granddaughter, but I'm fairly certain a bullet can do the trick for you." The man sneered, giving me a smirk that only me and my father had been able to master in our entire lives. "Then again... that bullet might not be necessary, because you, my dear, have something I wish to acquire." Chapter One -

My grandfather moved forward, towards where I sat frozen in fear and pinned up against my wall. H-He was dead... We had blown up the freaking building for Pete's Sake! HE WAS DEAD... Or... He was supposed to be... I knew... I couldn't... My mind was running in circles as I watched him inch forward with a ghastly smirk on his face before I closed my eyes, telling myself that I was imagining things. That worked for a bit until I felt hands closing around my throat. I gasped out, and my hands instinctively went up to claw at the hands around my throat, slowly getting a harder grip. My eyes fluttered open, instantly disorienting me and sending my head back into the wall in shock. There was a smash as my head hit the wall and I stared open-mouthed at Ethan, while a ghoulish look as his fingers tightened around my neck. "E-Ethan..." I rasped, confused, but he just gave me a haunted look. "I loved you." He whispered, as his form flickered and I felt my head growing light. What was happening to me? I couldn't breathe as I watched Ethan flicker back and forth from being himself, and then Victoria. She had a fierce look on her face, as manicured nails dug into my skin and pierced my neck. I clawed back, watching as she morphed into Hanna James now and slammed my head into the wall one... two... three times. The room was spinning as the hands suddenly left my throat and I was falling... Spiraling into darkness, feeling like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Everything was dark until there were bursts of colors and I felt strange sensations, hands on my arms, my chest, compressing it, pushing me further down into the abyss. My breath came out in strangled gasps as suddenly I was thrown back and forth, near the hole's walls, slamming into them like a rag-doll before I landed. Water splashed up around me, as I sunk into the deep blue water. My eyes felt sightless as I looked into the dark water, only seeing black, my hearing cut off by the current, the only thing left was my sense of touch, which was completely lost in the strange world I had landed in. I felt like I was drowning. Spinning and twirling deeper and deeper into the odd blue that seemed to pulse blue then black, blinding me of sight, then giving me bits and pieces back. It was very disorientating. Suddenly, my head slammed into a rock, and I felt it split open. I had a splitting headache, causing me to raise my hands and let out a scream in the middle of the water, bubbles coming out of my mouth in a long streamed line. Clawing at my head, I rolled over and over in the water, blinking and trying to clear my vision, but the sensations, the drowning, the pain... I couldn't take it. Reaching out, I felt something... Soft... My eyes fluttered close as the pain dimmed and I focused on the light... the grasp of hope... A piercing scream broke through my revere, bringing me back to life and back to the present. I felt someone hold me down by my shoulders as I struggled to open my eyes. They popped open in time to watch myself bring my hands up and claw at the person holding me down. "REBECCA." They shouted, sounding familiar... a voice I knew, but I couldn't place. I gasped, my hands dropping down onto the bed as I went limp and stopped struggling. "My gosh... Rebecca..." My breath came in frantic breaths as I felt my brow, streaked with sweat, my hair plastered to my head. Welcome to my life, after the last summer... After Ethan tried to kill me. Jay looked at me, concernment crossing his features as he released my shoulders and rubbed his face, which had four long jagged red marks, so close to breaking the skin that I could see the blood pooling at the top of his skin, just waiting to break through. He winced as he touched it and looked at me with a sad expression, "You missed dinner again..." I shuttered, slowly moving up to gather up the pieces that the nightmare had left of me. "I-It was him again..." I whispered, my voice sounding hollow as I turned and looked at him, my best friend, "I-I'm so sorry... I h-had no idea... it was y-you..." Jay shook his head, giving me a sympathetic look. "Your grandfather is dead... I promise you..." I turned away from his pitying look and blew out a ragged breath, staring bleary eyed at the cream walls. "The drowning... the banging... someone choking me..." I muttered, facing the wall, knowing that Jay understood perfectly, knowing that he would know how to answer my rambles... the rambles that happened nearly every night since last summer, since they started... since... since everything. I felt him touch my arm, "All fake. I got worried when you didn't show up for P.E..." He trailed off. Shutting my eyes, I shut out the world, trying to collect my feelings, everything that had just happened... The dream... Fake from the beginning... I never went to P.E... I never took a shower, My grandfather never showed up... I was never attacked... I was never... Killed. I shivered, looking down at my rumpled state, before muttering, "How worried is everyone?" I turned to look at Jay, but he was already standing up in front of my bed. I hadn't even felt it shift when he had gotten up. I knew he didn't have to answer the question, and he knew that he didn't have to answer it either... Because his face said it all. They all knew about the nightmares. They all knew about the dreams. They all knew I was scared to go to sleep at night, which is why I crashed in the middle of the day and caused people to run into my room when they heard me screaming... But that was months ago... Now they just knew that it was another one... The teachers knew, the students knew, no secret was safe as long as someone had confided in me. I knew that during the nightmares, I screamed everything, anything, many of times we had been in fights over it... Which was why I was leaving. Jay was the only one that knew. I was going to Thailand, where my Father had trained in the mountains with the top agents and monks. I was traveling into the unknown, with no one by my side except for maybe a goat. I was leaving tomorrow... I was leaving on the same plane as Dan. But for the first time, we weren't ending up in the same location. He had a mission. I had a mission. He had back-up. I had a goat. He was lucky. I might as well have been dead. "Come on, I know the cook left some food out." Jay whispered, helping me up from the bed, "Then we can come back and I'll help you pack." "Thank you." For once, Jay didn't question my motives on the trip as we walked downstairs in the dark. For once, it was silent between us, comfortable, like we were communicating silently. I was calm, and I was leaving this all. I was leaving this all to get one inch closer to the people who killed my mother and my father... one inch closer to the killers that wanted to hunt me down and train me for their own gain. One inch closer to the cold, hard truth. And I was going to get it, even if I died trying. Chapter Two -

They were all worried. Of course, in their eyes, Rebecca flaking on dinners, lunches, breakfasts even, and then not showing up for class was so unlike her that it terrified them, but on the other end, they all understood, in their own ways. They all understood the nightmares. The need for some sense of fulfillment... To know that killing Ethan, Victoria, and James weren't all in cold blood. The need for closure. The need to know. It was completely stupid to try and talk any sense into Dan, when he announced that he was meeting Ben, a mere three weeks ago. That was before things had seemed to get worse and worse with Rebecca's condition. Anna leaned against the door to the kitchen, her eyes closed while Lauren tossed a bruise apple back and forth in her hands. Als was studying for an exam in her room, Blake and Jacob didn't know the meeting was going on, but Dan was the one who had called it. "Guys." He muttered, moving forward and leaning on a table in the back of the Cafeteria. Anna's eyes shot open, expecting to see Rebecca smiling and laughing like she used to, but just seeing Lauren's somber face look up at Dan and Dan return the look of defeat. "I got news today... Ben says that someone in the agency may be feeding Russia info about us." Anna gave Dan a shocked look as he continued, "I only called you both here... because there's a really good chance that when I leave tomorrow, I'm not coming back, neither is Ben. We're being sent into the heart of the problem. We're going undercover-" The doors to the cafeteria opened then, cutting off Dan's explanation and causing the three students to whirl around, preparing their list of excuses to a teacher or facility member, but what they saw was much different than being caught by a member of the staff. "Rebecca?" Anna said slowly, moving from her position on the wall and moving over to Jay and Rebecca, who were slowly walking towards them. This was the first time Anna had seen Rebecca look so... horrible. The once bright green eyes that took down criminals for a living and laughed with her friends were dull, lifeless. Her hair was matted in places that even Anna didn't know if it was humanly possible to get out. But what shocked the trio in the cafeteria the most was that her skin was so pale that it was almost translucent. She looked sick, deathly sick, like someone who shouldn't even be out of bed. But here she was, a blank look on her face, one that all of them knew well. The one she used to hide pain. "Heya Guys..." She croaked, giving a sort of half-grimace, that might have supposed to been a smile, but there was nothing friendly about it. Jay gave her a pained look as he motioned for Lauren to pull a chair out from a table that she was sitting at. Even looking like this, Rebecca wasn't stupid. She moved from Jay and gave him a half-hearted glare, "I can sit down by myself, thank you very much." She coughed, a hacking sound that caused Dan to jump up and grab a water bottle. Lauren sat beside Rebecca and glanced at her. Appalled at what had happened to her friend. "Thank you," Rebecca muttered as Dan gave her the bottle of water and she took a swig. Looking around the room, she blinked and then asked, "Where's Als and the rest of the lot?" Jay was just coming back out of the kitchen with a sandwich and some French onion soup, which had been everyone's favorite meal at the school since they started to attend. "Alley is studying... and I didn't invite Blake or Jacob." Dan stated, moving forward to look at Rebecca with a blank stare, "I only told Lauren and Anna to meet me here because of our current situation." He was acting diplomatic, giving her an even look as she processed the information, "I was just telling them about how when I leave tomorrow, I might not be coming back. The CIA has gotten word that someone from the inside has been feeding information about everything and everyone to the Russian Intelligence agencies. Ben and I are being sent into the middle of the entire operation, in the Alps." Rebecca looked shocked for a moment before abruptly standing, something flashing in her eyes that the entire team knew, determination. "You aren't going without the IAgents back-up. If you return with one hair on your head signed, someone's dying." She said fiercely, but it was cut off by her starting to cough again and Jay slowly giving her water. She swallowed, something that looked hard as she stared at everyone. "If you think you're fooling me, by acting like my condition doesn't bother me, don't kid yourselves. I've known how to read all of you guys like an open book since before you were in the agency. As I re-call, my Commander status hasn't been revoked, so I'm still the team leader of the IAgents. If anyone would like to challenge that. Go right ahead. But it's under my direct order that we'll all go with you, Dan." Everyone seemed to exchange looks before Dan blew out a breath and stared at her evenly, "That's just it. I belay that order." Shock crossed her face as he continued, "After the teachers started noticing your... condition, the President called us in and changed the status. Agent Randall, you are now under my command, along with the other IAgents. You are not permitted to leave this building, nor are any of our friends. Agent Smith and I are going to the Alps, fully aware of what might happen. Agents Mallory, Jackson, Night, Adams, and Grange are all on full watch duty. Under the direct of myself, your Commanding Officer, you are too report to all of your classes each day and start treatment for your condition immediately starting tomorrow, after my departure." "No." Rebecca stated, giving him a fierce look. A look that all the friends knew she wouldn't be using unless she wasn't dead serious. "No?" Dan asked. "No," She stated again, giving him an even look now, something flashing in her eyes, "Because I'm going to be on the plane with you. My Commanding Officer has apparently not checked any recent memos... Or just doesn't have enough clearance to know that tomorrow morning, I'm heading to Thailand on my own personal assignment. So your orders are belayed. Don't mess with me Mattson, I've been in this agency as long as you have, and no one is going to take my order from me." Jay smirked to himself while Dan grinned, "Welcome Back." Chapter Three -

I stood in front of my bed, looking around the room to make sure I didn't leave anything important. I had two guns (my favorites), clothes, shoes, socks, a dagger (I liked to go a bit old school sometimes), my passport, tons of cash, credit cards, debit cards, my CIA I.D., my normal I.D., and then finally, Jay, who was literally attached to my leg. "YOU CAN'T LEAVE." I tried to shake him off as I looked at my small black bag that would barely fit in the compartment in the government issued plane I was to ride on with Dan. "Jay," I said as calmly as I could muster, "I have to go... Now please let go of my leg..." "NEVERRRRR." Jay wailed, hugging my leg tighter. At this rate I was going to be late for my flight and then I would really be peeved. My door was open, and that's when I realized Anna and Lauren were both giving me odd looks as they looked from me to Jay, who was STILL attached to my leg. Alley popped her head up behind them and rolled her eyes before pushing through with Blake on her heals. Blake grabbed one of Jay's arms while Alley grabbed another. They both pulled as I braced myself and Jay was flung off of me. He scowled, standing up before rushing towards me, but Blake put her foot out in front of him and tripped him, sending him flailing as he hit the floor. I winced but glanced at every, including Jacob who was snickering in the corner, "You guys will make sure he doesn't do anything rash?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Jacob laughed some more before nodding, "Yeah, and to think we were more concerned about you leaving, not Jay having to say good-bye." "I CAN'T LET MY BEST FRIAND LEAVE ME." He called, from the floor, where Als and Blake had pinned him so he couldn't tackle me again. I bent down, and hugged Jay awkwardly from the side before smirking at him, "I'll be back, you crazed psycho. Try not to burn anything down while I'm gone." He laughed and grinned at me before I stood and shouldered my back. The hugs went all around. First Anna who looked like she was about to cry as she tackled me and hugged me, before she was done Lauren joined in and I was tag-teamed by two of my best friends, hugging the life out of me. Then Jacob and I gave the little awkward one armed hug. Als and I embraced for a moment before she gave me a serious look and told me to try and not kill anyone important. I laughed and hugged Blake who, had by now let Jay up from the ground. She gave me a very serious look, more than Alley's and then slapped the back of my head, causing it to ring. I winced and scowled at her while she smirked, "That's for all the times you'll probably need it and I won't be there to give it to you." "Charming," I mumbled, rubbing my head while Jay hugged me again, for probably the millionth time today. "Listen," He said, looking at me and frowning, "You have clothes, weapons, money, everything you need?" Jay asked, but before I could answer he was talking again, "If you need anything, just call, page, or even use smoke-signals. I'll come and get you even if it takes me a year." I rolled my eyes smirking at him and just hugged him again, and for the last time. I stepped away, looking at everyone and waving before heading downstairs and to the helicopter launch pad. Dan stood waiting, in full military uniform, he gave me a soft smile before helping me up into the plane, where we both settled in for a long flight. I think I slept most of the flight, going in and out of consciousness. It was good I guess, because before we boarded, I was told that I would parachute out and down into the Thailand mountainside, where I would be expected to walk to the city on top of the mountain. Yay for me. Suddenly, Dan was shaking my shoulder and telling me it was time to suit up. I blew out a breath, going into government training mode, strapping on my chute and prepping myself for the leap. Right before I stepped out, Dan engulfed me in a huge hug and muttered, "I swear if you tell anyone that we hugged I'll steal your soul." Then I was gone. Sky diving has the experience of what I would call flying. Your hair whips around your face and it feels like nothing in the world can stop you as you free fall to the ground. Adrenaline races through your veins and right before you think you're going to crash, you hit the button to deploy your parachute and you fall lightly back to the ground, like a feather. My fall was from a good distance above, and I angled myself as I flew towards the ground to look at the plane. It was just a tiny speck when I knew it was time to pull the string and deploy my parachute. Jerking the string, I felt it get caught on something. I pulled it again, and nothing happened. My stomach lurched as adrenaline pumped through my veins, causing me to go into emergency mode. I tried the string again, forcing it to deploy the parachute that would save my life. That's when I looked down. "Oh Lord." Below me was a stretch of forest and rocks so wide and long that even if I didn't die on impact without a parachute, it would take me days to even get to the base of the mountain. A scream ripped through me as my hands instinctively covered my face and I crash landed, branches whipping me across the face and hitting every part of my body on a tree or a branch. Pain was all I felt as I went crashing to the forest floor. I landed on my side, the air going out of me, before my head snapped down and hit the ground. All I remembered was a flash of green and brown before black. I was out like a light, and now I just wished that I would wake up.

| Seven, seven, sev-ven!Chapter Four -

Ben's head snapped around, surveying the situation at hand. "Aw... You've got to be kidding me." He muttered under his breath, lashing out with his fists and punching a man in the face. There had been ten men. They had compromised Ben's cover, but now there was just one left. Ben stared him down, cracking his knuckles as they watched each other with bored expressions on their face. It didn't take much for Ben to dispatch the entire team of ten men that had trained with the Russian government, surprisingly, but this was the entire reason he was on this mission. The tattered and ripped uniform he had on as a cover hung loosely on his shoulder, where a man had ripped it in an attempt to bring Ben down to the floor as the other man fell. The boy gave the last standing me an even glance and then started to laugh. The man just kind of stared at Ben as tears flowed down his cheeks from laughing so hard. "I j-just can't believe this!" Ben chuckled, wiping his eyes as he gave the man a shaky look, "Oh gosh, this is hilarious." "I don't see the humor in the situation." The man stated roughly, in a Russian accent. "You and your little friends killed my wife and my baby girl." Ben burst into another round of laughter, it actually causing him to collapse onto the ground and rolls around, clutching his stomach in fits, "Oh Gosh... D-Don't say it again." Ben stuttered through laughter, looking up at the guy, "H-Hanna had it coming to her, and V-Victoria was a complete and total witch, so I wouldn't worry about if they went with a lot of pain." Ben sobered up quickly, popping back up to his feet, while hissing, "'Cause I can guaranty they screamed as they died, as they should've." "You..." The man spat, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Ben's chest, "I should riddle you through with millions of bullet holes... but, as my informant tells me... You've got back-up coming in the form of..." He smirked, "Daniel Mattson." Ben snarled at the man, rushing forward and kicking the gun out of the man's hand, hearing a bone snap as he lashed out. "You won't touch any of my friends." He grabbed the man's arm as he reached out to counter Ben's next attack and snapped it like a cheap number two pencil. The man screamed out as Ben dodged a strike from the man's other arm and whirled around behind him, locking his arms around the man's neck and putting him a choke-hold, "Give me one reason why I shouldn't snap your neck right now." The man let out a struggled and choked laugh, "'Got your friends, boy." The man struggled, and then pulled a small device out of his pants pocket, "'I-If, I press this, Blondie dies first." The man coughed, smirking as Ben's hold started getting weaker. Just enough for the man to flip him over his back and watch Ben collapse on his back onto the floor. The man cackled, wiping the blood from his cheek where Ben had punched him and shook his head, "Gosh, you are so stupid. You should at least check to see if I'm lying for loosening your choke-hold." The man kicked Ben's side, causing the boy on the floor to groan. The man held the device up to his lips and muttered, "'Got the kid, come and get him when you want." "Hope you didn't bloody him up to much," A distinctly male voice fired back, amused. The man laughed, "'Nah, just kicked some sense into him. Though, he might need a bit of the med's attention. I think I cracked a couple of ribs." The other man laughed, amused and then muttered back, "Gosh, IAgents are so stupid."

Dan knew something was wrong instantly after Rebecca had jumped from the plane, but there was no way to turn around and make sure his friend was alright. Gosh, he was so stupid for letting her go at this alone. He stood up and started to pace the small length he could, earning strange looks from the pilot and the only other agent on board. Dan waved the agent off when he started to ask him a question and pulled out his cell phone. How in the world he got service in the Taiwan wasn't important, he just knew he had it and that was good in his book. "Hello?" A groggy voice muttered, oh right, it was sometime around four in the morning in Vermont, Oops. But sleep would have to wait, right now he had a gut feeling something was going terribly wrong with both missions, and usually it was best to trust your gut, even in instances when no-one else seemed to. "ANNA." Dan shouted into the microphone, hearing the younger girl flinch at his shout, "Glad I got you, Okay, I've got a feeling something's gone wonky with both the missions. Is Rebecca wearing her necklace, and is Ben wearing his bracelet?" Dan looked down at the bracelet that matched Bens, a plain black band that read, 'WWJD'. There was a muted groan from the other end of the line as Anna's voice trickled back to him, still groggy, but more awake than her first word to him, "Uh, Don't think Bex has got her's on, on account of where she was going, something about wanting to be 'truly alone', but I slipped a tracker in her shoes, so that might be activated right now... And..." She trailed off, yawning, "Ben doesn't have his on either, uncover missions make you leave everything behind. Sorry Danny, whatcha need 'em for?" "'Told you!" Dan growled, "I promise you something's up, how fast can you and the team get ready and fly out here?" "... Wha?" Anna asked, her voice on high alert, "Dan, maybe you're just hungry..." "I'M NOT HUNGRY." Dan snapped, before his voice went back to his normal tone and got a bit softer, "I'm worried. Now pack some junk and get everyone together, I'll send word for the CIA to send a jet to the school. Okay?" Anna muttered something that sounded faintly like an 'Okay' before the dial tone sounded and Dan ran a hand through his hair, staring out at the forest whizzing by below the aircraft, "If anything happens." Dan muttered, sounding almost guilty, before just resorting to sitting back down and waiting. Chapter Five -

Have you ever woken up to a migraine so intense you think you're brain is going to split through your skull? It's not really that fun, I wouldn't recommend you do it for recreational pleasure unless you're some sort of freaky masochist that has a very high thresh-hold for pain. Then, be my lovely little guest and do it, I just hope your actual twisted brain does ooze out of your skull in grey lumps. 'Scuse me for that, I get a bit testy after I've fallen out of an airplane with no parachute. "Uhhhh," I groaned, rolling over onto my stomach, which involuntarily lurched up into my mouth and I gagged. "Oh Lord." I moaned, bringing a bruised and bloodied hand up to rub my temple. Sure, I had been in worst situations than this, much worse in fact, but it didn't give me an excuse to moan and groan for about five minutes until I went into 'Military training' mode. Which was always fun. Slowly, but surely, my confused and muddled mind managed to tell my body to sit up and I slid backwards until I could safely lean my back against the nearest tree. First, I really needed to survey how much damage I, or who-ever had messed with my parachute, had done to me. I looked at my hands, pretty much bruised and scraped from hitting limps and being used as protection for my face (Which, thankfully, felt unscathed). I moved my left arm first, back and forth make sure nothing was broken, before trying the same with my right. My wrist caused me to whimper in pain, but my actual arm was alright, which was better than having the entire thing shattered. I used the tree for support while inching my back up it and moving both my legs, which thankfully seemed fine, but when I stepped forward, the world spun around me, and I collapsed to the ground again, on a bad ankle and landing with my bad wrist splayed out on the hard ground. Tears sprung to my eyes from the pain, until I finally gritted my teeth and shut my eyes, holding everything in until I remembered my training. Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I realized that shelter and food was a necessity, so I gathered the empty parachute bag and my backpack, shouldering my backpack and resorting to carrying the empty bag as I stopped and listened. The faint sound of my heart beat was all I heard as I stood, silent and waiting for the sound of water, hopefully I had landed somewhere near a stream, where I might be able to follow it to a near-by village, but hope wasn't on my side. Moving slowly but surely, I walked through the brush to my left that seemed a bit greener and started down a small path, that was pretty hard to navigate on a busted ankle, until I found a nice stick. It would be useful as a walking stick, and to beat the ever-loving snot out of someone if I was attacked and couldn't get to my guns. Walking seemed to take forever, when I realized I was going nowhere. Though, As I sniffed the air, it seemed to be getting damper and foggy, so I mucked it up to there being a good sized source of water near and kept on, going over tree roots and narrowly avoiding running into trees a couple of times. A part of me wished I hadn't been stupid enough to want to go on this quest thing, which was what it all ended up being. I thought that if I went and trained with the people my dad had trained with I would get better and everything would be happy flying unicorn and rainbow land again. Yeah, right. Don't make me laugh. Stumbling on a fallen branch, I caught myself on a tree and blew out a frustrated breath, before hearing a quick snap. Something, or someone was following me... or stalking me... or tracking me... Or getting ready to kill me if I didn't get my butt to safety and quick. I looked up at the tree I was leaning on and huffed, before swinging a leg up and climbing it quickly, scampering up like I had squirrel blood in me, or something. Trying to keep my frantic breathing quiet, I looked down below the tree and around the surrounding area. It seemed like the fog I had been following was thicker down on the ground, but with my height advantage, it was sunny and clear up in the tree-tops. I really didn't want to become dinner for some animal out here, or, Lord forbid, a local tribe. That thought alone make my stomach do crazy catapults. It didn't look like anything was down there, and for a moment I debated on dropping back down until I heard it. A slow and even breathing, followed by eased footsteps, careful to not disturb the earth again. But which direction was it coming from? My heart pounded in my ears as I looked down at the ground again, making sure I was hidden from sight in a thick cluster of leaves. There it was again, the low breathing. My own breath caught in my throat as I detected a small flicker of movement in my peripheral vision, then it was gone. The branch I had been sitting on gave a sharp crack as I tried to shift to the side to look down again, and then I was falling. I didn't try and hold back my screams as I fell down from the tree and smacked into the ground again, nor did I try and cover my moans and frantic breathing as I tried to catch my breath. The other breathing was running now, until I heard the bushes behind me burst open and leaves scattered around my head. Not that it was my choice, but I was out again before I could even gain enough sense to see who the person was. Personally, I just wished I wouldn't wake up before they killed me. That'd be a whole dampener on the pity party. Chapter Six -- Spoiler:
"Yeah. Yes. No. Yes. Yes, Father. No. Yes. Yeah. No. Yeah, bye Dad." Jacob muttered, from the sounds of his side of the conversation, something was wrong. He snapped the cell phone shut, turning to stare at Blake. They had never really talked much on RPC, but now that they all knew each other in real life, they had gotten pretty close. The girl in question pursed her lips and stared at him, waiting for the information. Anna spun around in her chair by her desk and crossed her arms, giving Jacob a look that could kill. While Lauren leaned up against Anna's desk and fiddled with a small brown tabby cat figurine. Jay opened the door and waltzed in, sensing the tense atmosphere, and ignoring it as he sat down Chinese on the table. "I cooked." Blake glanced at him, glaring, while Jay shuffled from one foot to the other, "... Well, I picked up a phone, told the people what we wanted and they cooked it for me. But I picked it up." Blake stared at him, a million words spoken by her one look. "FINE." Jay muttered, glaring, "I had it delivered. Point is:" He paused, giving everyone in the room a once-over, "What's with the 'serious' demeanor? We're eating our last meal here and then getting on a plane to go meet up with our friends. No problem, right?" Jake shook his head, blowing out a small breath, "Problem." He whispered, as everyone went deathly quiet. Sure, they knew something was up from hearing his cryptic side of the conversation, with his own father, the President of the United States. Besides, Jacob had received the call, Daddy didn't phone unless some serious business was going on that they all needed to know about. Jake took another breath before looking at everyone and just out-right saying it, "Ben has been compromised. He's in the Russian Government's hands now, we don't even know if he's alive. Dan arrived too late and no one has heard from him or the agent or pilot that were in the plane with him. The last thing anyone knows is that there was a crackle on their comms systems and then they blacked, sometime last night. Then..." His face grew pale. A sure sign that something had happened. Blake shook her head, stepping up, "I heard the conversation Jake, I was standing right beside you. Don't try and cover up anything." She glared at everyone, "Rebecca never reported to the village she was supposed to land in. Apparently, she's either lost in the forest or dead." Jay blanched, about to start to shout, before Blake rushed him and threw him against the wall, glaring and holding his shirt in one hand. She was strong, for someone so much smaller than him. "I wasn't finished." Blake snapped, releasing him and whirling around to glare at Anna and Lauren, "Anyways, We can't trust anyone anymore. Someone's after the team again, meaning that they could have Rebecca." Jacob stepped up, his face calm but serious, while staring down Jay as he made a choking motion to Blake, while standing behind her. "There's one more thing, guys." He muttered, pausing and pressing his lips together, as if in thought, "My dad..." Jacob trailed off, before shaking his head and finally continuing, "My dad said that while we were recovering from the bomb problem last year, when they were checking us for, you know, medical stuff," He made a flailing motion with his hands, "... While we were under anesthesia, one of the doctors had a bright idea to... experiment." He froze, as Lauren's eyes grew wide and she glared outright at him, about to snap. "We're basically Human Lab rats. The doctor installed some sort of internal booster in our systems which makes us stronger, faster, and more dangerous than a normal human. This also kind of messed with our internal systems, and how we acted, prior to the surgery..." "One of us is a traitor." Blake finally snapped, glaring at everyone, "I don't know about you guys, but as soon as we figure out who's feeding all this... Scientific crap to the Russian government about us, I'm killing them. So if it's you, either step up now and get it over with, or run like heck if we ever get separated, because if I find you, you're dead." Psychotic laughter suddenly made all of them jump and turn to the door, where Alley was standing, giggling madly and shaking her head. "Gosh, if I knew I was going to walk in on some pathetic Spy Soap Opera, I would have opted out of even coming to this stupid meeting. Blake," She laughed, "You really think one of us is a spy?" Alley burst into another round of chuckles, wiping tears out of her eyes, "Gosh, how stupid are you guys?" She suddenly asked shaking her head again, "We've been through so much together, and you're all ready to throw it out the door? Can I say, Augustus Randall? How about Hanna James? Ethan Cook? Victoria Johnson? Gosh, you guys are idiots. None of us are traitors, look at us!" She shouted, "Look at Rebecca, look at Dan or Ben, gosh, Rebecca killed her own grandfather to save us all, and the U.S, Anna killed Hanna James because that murderous witch killed Anna's sister in cold blood, Lauren killed Victoria, who was some psycho, and Dan killed Ethan when he tried to go all 'man-handily' on Rebecca, trying to kill her! We've all trusted our lives with each other, and because of this stupid and ignorant news from Jake's dad, we're about ready to throw our hands up, curl into a corner and call it quits." Alley blew out a breath, glaring at everyone, "Rebecca could be dead. Ben could be dead. And Dan could be dead. But that's not stopping me from getting on that plane in an hour and going to find them, even if one of them is a traitor." Jay suddenly frowned and stepped forward, causing everyone to look at him as he reached into the bag and grabbed a spring roll, before popping it into his mouth. At many surprised looks, he shrugged and chewed before muttering, "I'm hungry. There's Chinese food. It's getting cold." Lauren started to laugh, it catching onto Anna, and then Blake and Jacob, suddenly, Alley was laughing too and there were all getting paper plates and take-out boxes, tucking into their food, like nothing had ever happened. Chapter Seven -- Spoiler:
Can't the freaking world give me a break? I mean, seriously, save the world, not once, but twice, and it's still throwing curve-balls at me. Groaning doesn't really do much, other than make noise, but noise was better than the stark silence I had woken up to. At least in the forest there was the terrifying sound of animals moving through the brush and the wind. But now, it was just kind-a creepy. At least, I could, sort of, be cheery about my situation. I hummed to myself, bringing a hand up to rub my head as I looked around the room-type place I had ended up in. It wasn't so much a room, as a tiny little hut of a place. I was in Thailand. 'Can't really expect The Queen's Palace (Which was ni-ice, if I do say so myself, Been there once or twice) or the White House (You really don't want to wake up in the middle of the night to pee and accidentally meet eyes with the picture of Hilary Clinton outside your room. Ugh, I still have nightmares). Anyways, Back to where I was. I was lying on a thin bed made out of straw and had the empty parachute backpack under my head. Leaning up, I scanned the room, seeing my untouched backpack sitting right beside the bed. On the opposite wall from the bed was a small table, made out of, what looked like bamboo, it had a basin type-thing on it. I slowly stood up, expecting to collapse, but my head just swam slightly as I stumbled over to the basin, like a pathetic drunk. Looking down into the basin, I stared at my reflection in the water and then barfed. Yeah, life as a spy was that freaking, glamorous. "Gosh, you just look lovely don't you?" A voice muttered sarcastically from the door. My head spun, trying to grasp the concept that one, I wasn't alone, and two, the voice kind-a sort-a sounded familiar, but then again, who knows if I was going crazy. Lots of things could have happened between the time I feel out of the plane, to the time I feel out of the tree, to who-ever found me and drug me to the hut from Hades. I figured if I could hold off barfing again for one second, I could turn around enough to see who this sarcastic person was. Blinking wearily, I raised my head and turned around, trying to shake my blurred vision clear. Short. Blonde. Smirking. Gah, she looked so familiar, "B-Blake?" I rasped out, feeling my stomach lurch as the girl finally nodded and then slowly clapped like I was an idiot, and she was awarding me with a shiny gold star and the promise I could be the leader of the line as we walked down the halls like I was back in Kindergarten. "I'd clap more if I weren't afraid you'd upchuck on my shoes again." Blake muttered, stepping forward and taking my arm, before leading me back towards the bed. I gave her a quizzical look, something seemed... off. I don't know exactly what it was, but something was wrong, and I felt all icky and like a bad spy for not being able to place exactly what it was. She just stared at me before motioning to the door hanging on a one of the walls and saying, "At least we found you." I just stared up at her, feeling my brow furrow, "We?" I finally asked, swallowing the lump in my throat, "Where am I? Blake? What happened? I was in the forest," I started, but she just shook her head, telling me silently to shut up. So I did. For once in my entire life, I sat and waited patiently to be told the heroic story of how my friends found me, probably half-dead, in the middle of a forest. I waited for Ben and Dan to come in, laughing, and making an obscure reference to a TV show before telling me I was stupid for thinking that I would die under their watch. I waited for Als to come in, tell me I was a raging idiot, and that when we got back, she was going to beat me to a bloody pulp in P.E. I waited for Jacob to come in and just laugh at me and tell me that we'd soon be home. I waited for Lauren and Anna to come in, Anna frantic but happy I was alive, and Lauren mad that she wasn't here with me to help. And Lastly, I waited for Jay to come in, slap me upside the head, tell me I was an idiot, and then hug me, because I was alive. But no one came inside. I didn't see one of my friends as a smirk slowly slid across Blake's features, malicious and grand, like she had just won the lottery, or had been told she could serve any punishment she pleased to her worst enemy. Then, she laughed, high and tinkling, evil sounding, sarcastic, cruel and wicked, she laughed like she had just been told the joke of the year, and she couldn't stop long enough to explain it to the next person. Slowly, my mind pieced things together, We, Russia wanting to blow up the US of A, No-parachute-backpack of horror, Dan's look as I jumped out of the plane, the promise of going to Thailand to rediscover myself and my father. My muddled mind managed to sift through all of this and come up with one solution, "You're working with them?" I asked softly, probably looking like the poster child for idiots everywhere. Blake shrugged, "'Wouldn't say that, per-say, lot's o' people work for them. You work for them. Dan works for them. Jay works for them. Als works for them. Lauren, Anna, Jake," She shrugged again, "'Lot's of people work for them, though technically we take what they dish out as a promise of being something more when we get older. A promise of doing something more. Of protecting the world." "Pro... Tecting?" I questioned, now just thoroughly confused. Blake nodded slowly, her mouth pressed into a thin line, "Y-es," She drawled, staring at me, "Pro-tect-ing, like, making sure no one dies at the hands of the Russian government? Did that fall in the forest mess up your brain, Bexxy?" Something seemed to click in her eyes as Blake stared at me, and then she started laughing again and wiping tears from her eyes, "Oh." Spastic chuckles broke up her statement, "My." More laughter, "Gosh. You thought I was working for Russia?" Blake was dying of laughter, crying, and grinning, like this was the best joke in the entire world. "Yes." I answered simply, before I realized my hand was curled into a fist and connecting with the side of her face, sending her backwards, and propelling me upwards, in a standing position, "Yeah, I do think you're working for them." I spat, "Other-wise, why the heck would I be in some tiny hut, Lord knows where? How come all my friends haven't come in here, congratulated me on not dying, and-And-" I stopped, trailing off, frustrated, upset, angry, those words didn't even begin to cover it. Confused was more like it. Blake rubbed her cheek, a bruise already forming as she glared at me, "Gosh, I'm not working for them, Rebecca. Get a hold of yourself. Als, Jake, Jay, Lauren, Anna, and I all flew out here a day ago, 'cause we got word from Dan that he was worried 'bout you. Ben's been compromised. Dan's missing. All we had to go on was the fact that you never made it to the village you were supposed to go to. Get a hold of yourself, I'm-We're here to help get you, Dan, and Ben, to safety. Russia's already threatened to bomb the US if we don't walk into the Lion's mouth and give ourselves up." I couldn't make heads or tails of anything anymore, so I just sat back down, held my head in my hands and breathed slowly, before muttering, "When do we leave?" I literally felt and heard the air shift as Blake shrugged, "'Morrow maybe? 'Morrow morning probably, we've all been freaking out, hopin' you would wake up before we left." I glanced up to see her touch the place where her heart was, "'Scientists did experiments on all of us. 'Makes us all some sort of super-human team, Jay suggested we call ourselves the 'RPC-ers', Anna just said 'IAgents' would do. You feeling up to kicking some Russian butt?" Slowly but surely, I took in the information and nodded, "Yeah, Let's go kick some Russian butt, you got a hold on Dan or Ben's positions? Or are we just winging it?" "'Winging it," A voice said from the door as I whirled around and a grin spread across my features, "Heya, Becca, nice to see you awake and breathing," Lauren muttered sarcastically. I blew out a breath and nodded, having a feeling that this was going to get crazy, fast.

"Twinkle, Twinkle, little star! How I wonder what you are! Up above, the world so high! Like a diamond in the sky! Twinkle, twinkle, little star! How I wonder what you are!" The words were sung loudly, and very off-key, almost drunkenly, like someone had just gotten finished with a ten hour happy-hour at the nearest bar, and that was the last song they were capable of singing before they fell over, too drunk to move. Though, this really wasn't the case, because for one, Daniel Mattson didn't drink, and two, he knew that singing very loudly and off-key just like that, grated on the Russian's ears like the musical stylings of Miley Cyrus. For some reason, Russians didn't really like her. Dan could only guess why that was. "I'm hungry." The boy stated, cracking his neck as he surveyed the empty and white-walled containment room they had put him in, tied down to a hard, cold metal chair, much like the one that he had been tied to when Augustus Randall was trying to take down the U.S., except, this chair almost seemed more comfy. "Can, I, maybe, just throwing a bone here, get some bacon?" Dan asked, his nose twitching, "Also, if you're gonna bring me bacon, can someone scratch my nose?" He blew out a small breath, looking at the stretch of wall with the camera positioned in the corner, where most people wouldn't see. He cocked his head to the side, and then, started making faces at the camera, tongue sticking out, eyes crossed, tongue touching his nose, shaking his head like a dog with his eyes crossed and tongue lolled out. Every face you could think of, Dan make it at the camera, finally smirking at the end. Suddenly, the wall opened up, in reality it wasn't the wall, it was just a door that blended into the wall, to make the room seem smaller and more enclosed than it actually was. Heels clacked on the ground as Dan looked up at the woman, his eyes shocked. She smirked at him. He blanched, every visible part of his skin going white as if he had seen a ghost. I guess, you could say he had as a long manicured fingernail trailed down Dan's check, as the woman smiled at him, like it was her freaking birthday. He opened his mouth, before shutting it just as quickly, just staring at the woman. The woman he knew was dead. The woman... The woman that Anna had killed. She had killed Hanna James, hadn't she? I mean, James, she-she, had killed Anna's sister. Anna had shot James, Dan had seen the body for himself, he- "Who are you?" Dan hissed, his voice cracking under his confusion. The bottle blonde woman, now with a bob cut and piercing blue-grey eyes just laughed, a high cackling sound as she trailed her finger down Dan's cheek again, "I'm who you think I am, Agent Mattson." She smirked, her eyes twinkling, "If your memory is still intact, then you should very well remember me, Hanna James." She turned suddenly, her heels clacking on the floor as she slowly circled Dan like he was her prey. Hanna James looked at him from every angle, before something crossed her features, and she stated clearly, "Come on in, Darling." Dan froze, as the door opened again and he shut his eyes, shaking his head from side to side, pain and shock crossing his features. James could hear him softly repeating over and over again, 'No. No. No. No. No.' "Yes. Yes. YES!" A giggling and childish voice tinkled, as the girl ran over to Dan and squealed, "Daniel! Yay!" Dan opened one eye, staring Victoria down, or-more-so up, as he was sitting and she was grinning at him psychotically from above. "I'm so happy I get to see you first!" Victoria trilled, her voice high as she spun in a quick circle, like her energy couldn't be contained, suddenly, she stopped, her eyes becoming dark as she brought her hand down and slapped Dan, roughly grabbing his cheek and glaring into his eyes, "... Because you made my life a living Heck." Her mouth curled up into a nasty smirk as she dropped his chin and patted his head like Dan was a dog, "Good Puppy." Dan snarled, arching back from her touch as if it was poisonous, "Don't. Touch. Me." He snapped, glaring at her, "And I'm not your dog, you little dead witch. I swear, villains don't stay dead like they used too." Victoria pouted, her eyes becoming large as she stared at him and Hanna James walked around to lurk silently behind her step-daughter. Dan gritted his teeth, his jaw taught as he looked at the both of them, "I opted for the burning of the bodies and scattering the ashes across the seas, but NO-OH that was just a bit too much for the agency." "Gosh, do you ever shut up?" A voice muttered from behind James and Victoria, Dan knew this voice. His next breath and insult caught in his throat as the two women moved from his view and Ethan, in all his lovely and snarky glory waltzed up between them, smirking. Something was different though, with all of them. Now that Dan looked closer, ignoring Ethan's jabs at him, he realized something. Ethan was taller, his skin smoother, like death had somehow made him healthier. Dan had been the one to riddle his body through with bullet holes, how- He stopped, his eyes scanning James before going to Victoria, looking at the freckles on her nose and her brown eyes, something... Gah, why couldn't he figure out what was wrong! He had seen the bodies! He knew they were dead... Weren't they? Suddenly, Ethan was leaning down, smirking in Dan's face, his breath fanning out and mixing with Dan's own, something about this whole situation seemed wrong, on so many levels. Dan shuttered and made an attempt to move backwards, but Ethan touched Dan's shoulder, his eyes looking straight into Dan's as he laughed slowly, "Don't try and make head and tails of this, Mattson, you're pretty little head'll explode from the sheer amount of information. I'll just confirm one thing," Ethan whispered, grinning at Dan, "I'm real. I'm alive. I'm breathing. I'm back. I'm here to kill the IAgents, for the last time." Dan suddenly spit in Ethan's face, his laughter echoing on the walls as Ethan reared back and stalked out of the room, shouting obscenities, closely followed by Hanna James and Victoria. Dan had seen what he wanted too. The fear in Ethan's eyes as the spit had connected with his cheek, and the tiniest spark Dan's eyes had ever picked up. A spark that could only be made by water hitting something electric. They weren't back, someone was trying to crack the IAgents, but that wasn't happening on Dan's watch. He had to get the information to his friends, mostly to Ben, before they managed to get the information out of one of them. The brown haired boy looked up at the cameras and said plainly, smiling like he was in on some inside joke, "Robots were always overrated. I mean, I'd expect more from you, at least send in one of Rebecca." Dan laughed, but got no response from the cameras, but somewhere, he knew he'd shaken them. They vastly underestimated the IAgents, if they thought silly mechanical people and slaps were going to break them down and made them all sing like canaries. Chapter Nine -

Somewhere in the distance, a hawk called in the mid-morning sky. I looked up, watching as the rising sun painted it a million shades of orange and red, silently taking a breath and savoring the silence as I stood outside the small hut I had been in for the past two days. It had been two days, since I had woken up. Since I had been told Dan and Ben had been compromised. Since I had seen Jay's concerned face, hugged Jacob, and demanded that Anna track them, somehow, send a freaking pidgin to them. At least get news. No one was up yet, I knew that, in the part of my brain that kept tabs on those types of things. I usually didn't listen to that part of my brain much, only when I knew that if I didn't I'd die. Kind of an instinct that only kicks in then, but now, in the calm of the morning, feeling the light breeze, and looking up at the blood red sky, something seemed to stir in me. I was no longer, the crazed girl that nightmares haunted, reminding her of the days that her Grandfather wanted her dead, and the days when her worst enemy became a friend, and then turned his back on her, only to try and kill her. I was changed. I knew that much, at least, even if I didn't know why everything had suddenly stopped, or why those Scientist guys had decided to play Operation with my brain, or why whenever I heard something or someone behind me, my direct instinct was to kill, overriding any other human part of me for a millisecond before I could get control. I didn't know if the others felt the same way, but gosh-darnit, it scared the ever living crud out of me, it made me feel like I was no longer human, just some stupid chew toy for Government Scientists to tinker and play with. "Rebecca?" I swallowed, feeling my muscles tense for a moment before slowly turning around and meeting Jay's eyes. I smiled softly, it was forced, and I knew he could tell, but the formalities between us were kept intact for the others, for the sake of our sanities. Things here, in the village, knowing that our friends were in trouble, it was... Hard. I couldn't really put it into words, but seconds stolen in the morning, or in the middle of the night, made it easier. It made it easier, knowing that Lauren and Anna were talking, playing the Best Friend card, going off by themselves, talking it out. Jacob and Als were good too, they talked, more on a business level, but they were still friends. Blake worried me, she was so... silent. I shivered, for no apparent reason as Jay came and stood beside me, neither of us looked at each other as we both watched the sky with blank expressions on our faces. I took a small breath and then muttered, "... Does it bother you?" He glanced at me for a moment, confusion on his features before I continued, "Does it bother you that, each moment right as I wake up, this world we live in, doesn't exist? That somehow, I'm still in that realm of sleep, that makes everything alright. I don't have to think or worry, because in that one second, I'm blissfully happy, unaware that one of my friends is going to turn their backs on us? Unaware, for a moment, that Dan and Ben are probably being tortured? Unaware," I took a quick breath, pushing back tears as I continued, "Unaware... That we've become some pawn in a huge game of chess, played by Scientists that made board games out of our heads?" "If anyone's playing a game of chess, can it be at Hogwarts? With Ron Weasley?" Jay asked, giving me a small smile and pulling me into a hug, "Calm down, you're going to go grey before you turn sixteen, Rebecca." I shook my head, hugging Jay's side and frowning as he continued, "I know how horrible it is, I mean, you can't even imagine the thoughts going through my head when Jacob told us-" "Wait," I mumbled, pulling away from him and cocking an eyebrow, "Jacob told you? Blake said she's the one that told everyone? How'd Jake know?" Jay gave me a quizzical look, shaking his head, "No... Jacob told us. He got a call from his dad, Blake told us someone was a traitor." I suddenly grew very quiet, "How'd Blake know someone was a traitor?" I whispered, looking up at Jay with wide eyes. His brow furrowed, and his lips went into a straight line as he suddenly shook his head again, as if to clear muddled thoughts, "I-I don't know?" Jay asked, like it was a question, "I mean, she just outright and said it, interrupting Jacob about the Scientists in our brains. Jacob took the call them in the room, I guess, I wasn't there. I was getting Chinese." I just stared at him, everything serious shot to Hades while I screeched, "YOU GOT CHINESE WHILE I COULD HAVE BEEN DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST?" Jay stumbled backwards, staring at me like I'd turned into Medusa, "Rebecca..." He trailed up, holding up his hands in surrender, "Calm down... We had to eat..." "Calm down?" I asked, breathlessly, "Calm down?" I repeated, "You want me to calm down?" Something was wrong, my brain had short-circuited, I couldn't think of anything other than the desperate need to take someone down, the need to know my friends were all safe, which, was slightly ironic in its own way as I was threatening my best friend now. Suddenly, Jay's eyes grew wide, and he was looking over my shoulder. I heard the breathing, I felt the ground shift behind me, and I felt the needle piercing my skin and injecting anesthesia into my system. The world spun around me as Jay launched himself over me and tackled my attacker. I heard them grapple for a moment, before someone dropped beside me and I turned, blearily, trying to hold onto consciousness to face my attacker, to see if they'd gotten Jay too, but all I saw was a pale face, large green eyes, and curly brown hair before I dropped into oblivion. It had been me? Or at least, she'd looked like me. Chapter Ten -

No one can ever say Anna was stupid, or a heavy sleeper. She heard the scream piece the air and shot up from her bed. In five seconds flat, she was outside her hut and running towards Jay, who had thrown the Becca-Bot down onto the ground and was beating it over the head with a rock. She skidded to a stop right as she came up to them and looked from the real Rebecca and the one laying right beside her. "JAY." Anna screamed, under the impression he was beating the real Rebecca's skull in. At least, that's what she thought until she saw the wires and metal in the head of the one Jay was still smashing a rock into. She bent down and pressed her fingers to the Real Rebecca's neck and gasped, "She's cold, Jay." He froze, dropping the rock and coming over to Anna in a heart-beat. Jay shoved Anna's hands away from Rebecca's neck and pressed his own there. "NO!" Jay shouted, shaking her, "She just dropped, just now! I swear, it hasn't been long enough for her to die! She. Can't. Be. Dead." He ground out, looking at Anna with tear-filled eyes. She looked at him and then started backing away, "Oh my gosh, you killed her. You're the traitor!" Anna suddenly shouted, still moving backwards, Jay looked at her, horrified, holding up his free hand in surrender, but she cut him off before he could speak with a scream, "LAUREN! JACOB! BLAKE! ALLEY!" Suddenly, Lauren was stumbling out of her own hut, racing towards the three (four counting the bot) of them, holding a gun. Her eyes were half-way shut from sleep when she barreled towards Anna and looked around frantically. She spotted Rebecca's life-less body in Jay's arms and then her head instinctively went to the busted Other Rebecca's skull, with wiring sticking out. Lauren's brow instantly furrowed as Alley came stumbling out of her tent with Blake in tow, looking around blearily and then coming straight over to everyone. The last one out was Jacob, who literally fell outside his door, scrambled up from the ground, and kind of scrambled to get his feet to work as he came over to them. "Wassa' happenin'?" Blake slurred, her eyes landing on the two Rebeccas. "Heya, lookie!" She muttered, giggling, "There's two Bexxies!" Alley frowned, and looked at everyone before muttering a brief explanation, "Cough syrup. Now what's going on?" Obviously, she was more awake than Lauren, Jacob, and Blake combined, because she knelt down and poked the robot, watching it flail for a moment before dying out completely, "Robot? No, Robot-Becca. This isn't good." Als looked up at Jay before looking at the frightened Anna, "Someone explain, now." "J-Jay, Rebecca screamed, I don't know... Robot." Anna muttered, looking up at Alley before pointing to the Becca-Bot lying on the ground and then Jay. Jay shook his head, his eyes flashing, "No, we can figure out why there's some demented robot later, right now we need to figure out why it stabbed Rebecca in a needle." He pressed his fingers to the real Rebecca's neck again, looking up at his friends worriedly, "She's all cold..." Jay whispered, "Cold, whatever's in that stupid needle, made her do this." He shoved it into Jacob's hands, looking at him in complete seriousness, "You and Anna, find out what that stuff is, I don't care if you have to pull a million dollars out of my bank account. Find. Out." Jay turned and pointed to Lauren and Blake, who were awake and staring at everything like they'd just stepped into an alternate dimension, "You two, make sure there aren't any more robots around here." Alley raised an eyebrow at Jay as he slowly stood up, lifting Rebecca up with him, "Me and you are going to try and figure out how to wake her up." Blake yawned, but frowned, "Why would someone make a robot of Rebecca? I mean, she's here, with us, it's stupid, there's no reason to have one, unless they were trying to replace her, and fool us..." She kicked the Becca-Bot's cracked head and shook her own head, "I mean, that thing's insanely close to what she actually looks like. It's creepy." Lauren kneeled down beside the bot and took the head in her hands, before quickly jerking it to the side and snapping it clean off. She smirked and tossed it to Anna, before standing back up and handing Blake another gun she had on her. "Come on, Blake, Let's go shoot us some robots." The two of them disappeared behind the side of the huts. Anna stood up, holding the head in one hand, and looking at Jacob's hand holding the needle. "We need to figure out what that is, now." She muttered, grabbing Jacob's arm and dragging him back to her hut, while babbling, "I brought some supplies, in case I needed to look up something, but it's not as extensive as what I have at the school, we're going to make do, maybe call in some favors. Jake! Are you even listening to me? Gosh, the head's not going to bite you, it's severed, Just hold it for a minute..." Her voice faded as Jay and Alley looked at each other. Jay's jaw was taut with anger as he and Alley both carried Rebecca back into her hut and glanced at each other again. "What do you suggest we do?" Alley asked, almost sarcastically, "Because, you know, I was thinking the general bucket of water, on the head, but that's a bit cartoony for this situation." "Alley." He snapped, whirling around, "What's your deal? My best friend just dropped to the ground because of a robot that looks like her, you're not making this any easier on me." She glared at him, charging towards him, her hands closing around his collar, "Yeah, well, I'd be more concerned if you were freaking out more right now. Right now, you're acting like you planned the entire thing! You know what? I think you're the traitor!" Jay snapped back at her, back-handing Alley outside of the Hut's door and watching her fall to the ground. "WHY WOULD I HURT MY OWN FRIEND?" Jay shouted, charging towards the fallen Alley on the dirt ground. She swiped his legs out from underneath him, pinning him to the ground and socking him in the jaw once. He caught her hand the second time and twisted it backwards using the momentum to flip them over. "STOP! STOP!" Lauren shouted, running over to the fighting pair, Blake hot on her heels, "STOP. GUYS!" She grabbed Jay's shirt and pulled him off Alley, who had a busted lip, but that wasn't compared to the broken nose Jay probably had, from a well aimed punch from Alley. Blake came running over, helping Alley up from the ground and glaring at the both of them, trying to help Als brush the dirt off of her clothing, and stop her bleeding lip. In the midst of the brawl, Anna had gone into Rebecca's hut, and now was frantically rushing back out, "SHE'S GONE, YOU IDIOTS!" Jacob looked up at the sky, catching the small black dot that was a helicopter in the air, only a few feet in the forest. "They were waiting." Anna muttered, running a hand through her hand, "They were waiting to get her... To get us distracted and take her. Now they've got her..." "The question is," Jay snarled, wiping his bleeding nose and coughing, "Who 'they' are." Chapter Eleven -

"Are you a robot, or real? This question is legit, just answer me." My head was pounding as I opened one eye, and tried to shift forward, but my hands were tied behind my back, and I was chained down to a metal chair. Looking around blearily, I jumped in my seat, when I locked eyes with Dan. "D-Daniel?" "You're obviously a robot." He muttered, sighing and shaking his head before mumbling something under his breath, "Stupid random evil people, can't even give me real company, not scrap metal." I ground my teeth together, glaring at him, my jaw going taut, "SOCKY. I'm not a freaking robot! Now tell me where the heck we are! NOW." He looked up at me and suddenly grinned, "Sweet, they programmed it just like the real thing! I wonder how much crap I can say to it... This would be the time to 'admit' that I stole Rebecca's favorite leather jacket and used it to wipe up orange soda in my room..." "YOU USED MY LEATHER JACKET TO WIPE UP ORANGE SODA?! I THOUGHT I LOST THAT!" I shrieked, fighting against my chair and looking at Dan murderously, "I can't believe you! Gah!" Moving to the side, I avoided looking at Daniel's face and looked around the room, two cameras pointed on us, in the corners, Plexiglas wall on one side, probably one-sided, where they could see what we were doing. Metal chairs bolted to the floor, side by side, chained down, hands tied with really strong rope... Ouch. "Sock-I mean Dan, where's Ben?" I asked, turning and looking at my friend. He was paler than normal, the harsh lights in the room reflecting off of his light brown hair and making his cheeks look sallow, along with the fact that they obviously didn't know the classic 'feeding-the-hostages-stale-bread' cliché. Dan stared at me and shook his head, "Darn, they got Rebecca down perfectly. I promise, once I find out who the traitor is, I'm totally applauding them on the fact that they got her scathing tone perfect! Plus, I mean, the whole 'death glare' thing she's awesome at. Dude, if I didn't know better, it's Jay, then again, I really don't peg him as the type to sit around making robots of his friends." "IT'S NOT JAY YOU IMBECILE. I'M REAL. WE'RE ABOUT TO DIE. WHILE BEING TIED TO CHAIRS. NOW WHERE'S BEN?!" I shouted, my voice echoing off of the walls, and causing Dan to flinch back, "Now, answer me Daniel Mattson, or so help me, when we get out of here, I'll kill you, and then bring you back to pick up the pieces." He turned and looked at me, raising an eyebrow, "You are the real Rebecca aren't you?" "Yes, Captain Obvious, now that we've gotten past the stupid question part of the session, can we get on to where in the world are we?!" I growled back, glaring at him and watching as he smirked and started to laugh. "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?" I yelled, wishing that I could choke him, if it wasn't for the stupid ropes holding me back. I had just been stabbed by a robot person that looked like me, I wasn't HAPPY. Dan kept laughing, until it was just slow bursts of uncontrollable chuckles, that he soon got control of, "I'm just, so happy, you know?" He muttered, looking at me, "I've been in here for two weeks, without any sign of people, except for robots of Ethan, Hanna James, Victoria, and the gang... It's just... I had forgotten, how awesome real people were, especially you when you get your 'angry face'. I forgot how much it terrified me. Here, I was almost to the point of thinking that I had thought everyone up, and all our inside jokes, then while I'm asleep, they apparently found it funny to just drop in Bexxy-Bossy-Butt on me, and expect me not to freak when I woke up and saw you!" "... Bexxy-Bossy-Butt?" I asked softly, "... Oh my gosh, you guys don't call me that, do you?" He looked guilty for a moment, before laughing and shaking his head. "So... You don't know where we are? And you don't know who's doing this? And you don't even know if we're going to make it out alive? And you haven't seen a real person?" Dan nodded sadly, looking at me, "I haven't heard anything, except for all that crap they've been feeding the stupid robots. Stuff about me, about you, about Jay, about Jacob, about everyone... Things that..." He paused, looking up at the camera before acting like he was speaking directly to it, "Things that our traitor knows because they're one of us. Things like what was happening when we were all kidnapped by your insane grandfather, things about Hanna James, and the terrible duo, things... Things that happened in that room, the pig... Oh, gosh, Mr. Piggums Bacon-Miser Porkbutt! THEY MADE A ROBOT MR. PB-MP." Dan sobbed, and then sobered up just as quickly, "And they didn't even offer me bacon after they took the stupid machine away." Suddenly, the door opened, and as if on cue, my worst nightmares sauntered through the door. Hanna James. Ethan Cook. Victoria Johnson. And... "Jay...?" I questioned, my voice cracking at the end, at the sight of my friend, "JAY! They got you! Oh my gosh!" His face was bruised, and bloodied, but something was wrong, it looked... fake? Dan gave me a pointed look and then there was a slight nod... A nod that told me to keep on with my performance, one that told me to make them think that I believed that the robots were real, "Ethan?" I stuttered, looking up at the cold and heartless eyes of the machine, "You should be dead!" I pretended to shift backwards, trying to get away from the four robots, "All of you, you should be dead! JAY!" Okay, maybe I was liking this hamming thing a bit too much... "Rebecca." Dan stated, all to convincingly, "They aren't real... Rebecca..." But as he trailed off at my shocked look, and I stared as what I thought was a Jay robot, looked up at me, with blood trailing down his cheek, and I saw the small scar above his eyes, and watched as Ethan threw him into a chair, and Victoria tied him up. I felt Ethan grab my cheek and pull me forward. He sneered at me, and I flinched back, away from the warmest and most alive hand I've ever felt before in my entire life, but I couldn't shy away from the cold and heartless eyes. Ethan laughed, smirking at me and tilting his head to the side, "Oh, I can be alive, Ms. Randall, and I am." He shook his head slowly, "Let's just say, that one of your friends is smarter than you believe..." Ethan trailed off, before releasing my cheek and glaring, "Or your other friends are incredibly stupid, either one works for me!" He sung, while exiting the room and giving me a salute, "We'll be seeing each other later, doll-face, I've got lots to tell you about, you know, dying and all, what's death, but the next greatest adventure?"

"So, here's the layout to the entire building, we've got to get in, break into the room, get Jay, Dan, and Bex out, all while you guys find and locate Ben. So far, I don't know if anyone has come into contact with him, which makes this all the more serious. Are we clear on the plan?" Jacob asked, looking at Alley, Lauren, Anna, and Blake. "We're the last five that haven't been drugged and kidnapped, they're going to want one of us as their next victim, and we're not giving them that." He handed Lauren and Anna a set of plans, while handing Blake and Alley the other. "Lauren, Anna," The two girls in question looked straight at Jacob in all seriousness, "Be careful," He stressed, biting his lip and running a hand through his hair, "If you're getting Ben out, and he's not with the others, then he's going to have some pretty tough guards-" Anna held up her hand, giving Jacob a soft look, "We know, Jake. We know, and we can take them. Trust us." Lauren nodded in agreement, checking her two guns strapped to her sides and handing Anna another one. Jacob's father had personally sent them supplies last night. They were taking the facility down with a five man team, and lots of firepower. Jacob nodded at the both of them before looking at Blake and Alley, "There are two of you, and three of our friends, you guys are going to have to protect them all with your lives, no telling if they've had food or water, or what these people have done to them. You have to be careful. Please." Blake rolled her eyes and hugged Jacob, before pulling away and checking her own guns, while Alley rolled up the plans and checked her own. "That's it then," Lauren muttered, "You can go alone, Jacob? I don't like the idea, at all, but by the sounds of it, you're going to get in, and get out as quickly as we are." He shrugged, tucking a bag under his arm and looking at his friends, "I've got to. To get in a make sure all their security goes bonkers while you guys are getting everyone out, it's essential. It could mean whether or not you guys die. Besides, it's only me, if I get caught, then..." Jacob trailed off at the horrific looks of his four friends, "Listen, if I get caught, I can get out, you guys won't be able to without them killing you. At least my head has a price, they won't want to kill me to quickly, or mar me, I'm sure the head of the current President's son offers a fair price in countries like this." Alley nodded at Jacob, slowly but surely, "If I hear any problems though, I'm coming and finding you, understand? We all are. Now let's go before day breaks." It couldn't have been one in the morning yet, but they had to do it when the least amount of security and guards were patrolling, between shifts. The five teens all exchanged looks before Alley and Blake disappeared into the woods, with Lauren and Anna following not very far behind, while Jacob turned and slid the bag onto one shoulder, before going off into the opposite direction. He had to get to the base first and disarm everything, or the entire plan would fail. As the base came into view, Jake went into action, disarming a guard without a second glance before hopping onto the security platform, and climbing up a latter, before entering the main room. A guard stood up, about to sound the alarm, but he stopped short and slumped to the ground as soon as a knife embedded itself into his neck. "Sorry 'bout that man." Jake muttered, moving the body with his foot as he took Anna's laptop out of his bag and hooked it up into the systems, his fingers flying across the keys and overriding the entire system. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Jacob whispered, opening up the main frame and working his way through the lock systems and alarms, turning ones off and turning ones on at the right moments. Their firewall system was horrible, as he punched a hole right through it and unlocked the door to the room Rebecca, Dan, and Jay were supposed to be kept in. Pressing his comms unit to his ear, he heard the sounds of a fight before asking, "Peach, Branch, Vix, Blank, you got eyes yet?" "Kinda- Ow," A breath, "Busy. At the mo'!" Blake shouted, as the sounds of fists hitting bones echoed in Jacob's ear. "Peach's got grabbed as we went into the building, guards saw us immediately, six or seven came to play. We've killed three, they're strong, and mean." She huffed, and there was a gunshot, "Make that four." "Branch, Vix, you got eyes?" Jacob questioned to his other two friends, hearing deadly silence as the comms crackled in his ear, switching from Blake and Alley's line over to Lauren and Anna's, "Guys!" Jake shouted, "Answer me!" There was a quick breath before Lauren's voice came to him, "Subs... They're not here. The doors unlocked sure, and the room's white and plain, like no one was even here to begin with, they've moved them." There was the sound of something breaking as Lauren cursed harshly, "I can't believe it! Peach! Blank! What do you have?" The unit switched back over to Blake and Als' line, right as the other friends hear a sharp snap and Alley's voice breathlessly laughing, "Seven dead guards, that's what we've got." There was the brief smack of a high five before her voice came back, stronger now, "We're heading into Ben's room, that's what they were protecting. Kinda bad guards, all seven of them had a key to the room, you could a pick-pocketed any of them to get it. I guess Russian's just aren't that smart." Suddenly, someone hit Jacob in the back of the head, and his comms unit flew out of his ear as he slumped to the floor. Ethan nudged him with his foot and scowled, "I wouldn't say we're not smart, just not stupid."
Chapter Thirteen -

I ate a bite of the chicken, not even afraid that it might be poison, I was hungry, it didn't really matter now whether or not I lived or died. Dan sure didn't seem to mind shoveling bacon into his mouth, nor did Jay mind casually telling Dan he was going to die from a heart-attack before he turned eighteen. To give you the run down, we got drugged (again), and taken out of the room, only to find ourselves somewhere much more plush, with servants and what-not, all signs of the evil robots gone, and seemingly alone except for cooks and other special people that wanted to make us happy. I'd had three massages in the past day, and they just kept getting better. Plus, they'd healed up Jay's face and helped Dan get back to his feet after whoever had kidnapped us had tied us down, but still, there was no sign of Ben, which worried Dan more than anything. Where ever we all were, was HUGE. I mean, mansion size. But I had a feeling that we weren't on land anymore. I'd wake up sometimes at night, and feel my floor rocking, which was a pretty good indicator that we were on a boat. Also, my window showed the sea, and if I looked down, all I could see was water. I'm such an awesome spy. "You gonna finish that piece of chicken?" Dan asked, looking at me pointedly before glancing down at the last piece of fried chicken on my plate. Jay eyed it like it was his prey too, so I picked it up and popped it into my mouth, chewing and savoring the flavor while they both glared at me. "Get your own." I muttered, after swallowing and looking at the empty plate, "Oh, wait, I just ate the last piece. Oops." Dan made a choking motion to me and scowled, picking up his water and taking a sip, while Jay pushed his plate towards the middle of the elegant table and leaned backwards, sighing in content. "Come on, guys, let's go exploring." After the three of us woke up in different rooms on the boat, we had instantly tracked each other down and started looking around the entire place. From what it seemed, it was a private boat, decked out like a cruise ship, just with less rooms. So far, we had been through three floors, and found out there was a fourth floor below us and a top deck. The Top Deck was the only place we hadn't been yet, which I was kind of scared, because Top deck meant being exposed, and actually coming to the realization that we could be in any remote sea, and about to be executed. I know, these thoughts were just happy-go-lucky rainbows and ponies. On the plus side, we had discovered a gym on day three of being on the boat, and instantly started working out again, making sure we were in prime shape while they fed us unhealthy things like fried chicken and waffles. I loved waffles. I guess the baddies had just finally realized what my weakness was. Chocolate chip waffles. Seriously, I mean, this cook, whoever they were, made some MEAN waffles, the chips were so melt-y and chocolate-y… and GOOD… Oh, sorry, I just drooled. Jay and Dan both stood up at the same time, while I took my time sipping more coke before standing up and sighing, "To the top deck?" They both nodded silently as I walked out of the door and waved at a maid before heading towards the stairs, ready to walk up three flights, and find whatever treasure hunt was on the top deck. At least, if it really was a treasure hunt, we'd have something to do on the ship. Their library was lacking 'Harry Potter' books, and I didn't know how much longer I could take it without a book, let alone a TV. This was getting kind of insane. Maybe that was their angle, make us bored to death. (See what I did there?) All I had to say was that whoever had kidnapped and owned this boat, was INSANELY rich, I mean, I've had some good food, but Filet Mignon two nights in a row, followed by lobster? Sure, let's feed our prisoners like kings and queens, not to mention provide them lovely and fluffy beds, oh, and an ENTIRE closet full of new clothes in our sizes. Seriously, they can keep me kidnapped if this is how it's going to go down. As long as I don't do anything to get me killed, I'd stay on this ship for the rest of my life. Even if it was kind of lonely. Dan, Jay, and I tended to stay together for the entire day, wandering around and cracking jokes, but I knew how quiet it was, and how much it unnerved me, meaning that the paranoid Jay, and Dan (Whose read WAY to many Sherlock Holmes Novels, and watched to many crime scene shows) where as freaked, or more than me. Our trio pushed open the door to the top deck and were greeted with the smell of salt water, and the wind whipping our hair around our faces. Dan glanced at me before I stepped out of the Stairwell and walked across the main deck, looking at the exposed swimming pool, filled with water, and out across the crystal clear water. The sea was fairly calm as the boat rocked softly beneath me as it sliced through the water. The deck seemed eerily quite, until I ducked and whirled around, round house kicking a black-clad Victoria across the deck, and into the pool. Rushing over, I watched her sink, and sizzle underneath the water, before sinking down to my knees and turning to stare at Jay and Dan, who had taken down a Hanna James robot. "Oh… Lord…" I mumbled, "Apparently we aren't as safe as we assumed." I whispered, standing and walking over to the robot. Slapping it across the cheek, I felt my eyes flare before hissing, "Who made you?" She sneered at me, empty eyes staring at me, silently challenging me. I slapped it again, "I said," I growled, grabbing it's chin roughly and twisting it to look at me, "Who. Sent you?" The robot gritted its teeth and snapped back, staring at me, "I do not speak my master's name, but they speak of you. They told me to come here, and deliver a message. You're friends have all been captured. They are being sent here as we speak." She cocked her head to the side, looking at me harshly, "Also, your friend, Benjamin, is also on the ship. You have just yet to find what my master does to unfriendly agents." Dan jerked the robot roughly, causing her to look at him. He snapped her arm, it sounded painful, even for a robot as he growled, "Where is he? Tell me!" Dan pulled the arm clean off in the next second and had the robot down on the ground, pinning it, "What have you done to my best friend?" The robot just shook her head and spoke in a clear high voice, "Powering down." Chapter Fourteen -

Silence could never be so loud. You think, silence is wonderful, golden even when you are constantly around people that are shouting, yelling, screaming, having fun, laughing, smiling, when you're around friends, silence is a thing of the past, the thought doesn't even cross your mind. But here… No, here silence was a never-ending pressure, silence is something that invades your mind, your inability to see, to hear, to think even, it all feels like your life is slowly being sucked out of your body. And that's the worst feeling in the entire world. It felt, to Ben, that he couldn't speak, without fear of shattering whatever place he was in. Besides, his voice had gone hoarse days ago, weeks even. He hadn't heard a word of his friends travels, or seen anyone, except for the occasional flash of a hand in the darkness, delivering water or food once every couple of days. They were barely giving him oxygen and food, not to mention he was so skinny, that in no time, he could probably slide out of the binds they had him in. He didn't know how big the room was, it was pitch black. All he knew was that this chair, bolted to the floor, and these ropes had become his home and possessions. He really only knew one sensation, fear. It took a lot to happen before fear finally set into his mind. It took knowing that the last person he might see was Victoria's father and Hanna James' husband, it took knowing that he might never get to see his friends again, or joke with Dan, it took realizing that he was going to die. It wasn't a question. It wasn't something that could be bargained with. Ben was going to die, in this dark room, tied to a chair. Hope was a thing of the past. When he had been knocked out and woken up in the dark, it had been unsettling of course, but that hadn't stopped him from screaming and shouting, and beating his feet, until he could barely keep his eyes open. Who really knew how much time had passed since then. He slept when he was tired, and ate when they brought food, which sort of helped him keep track of days, but then again, he didn't know what time zone he was in, or where he was, or what was going to happen. All Ben knew was the silence, and he welcomed any sound he could make himself, shuffling in the chair, clearing his throat to make sure he could still talk. Anything and everything helped make sure he didn't go insane. He wasn't like Dan, he couldn't just start humming, or singing a song to keep himself entertained. Dan was the funny one in their best friend relationship, their 'bro-mance', Dan was the one who kept Ben leaved out, between how serious Ben was, and how insane Dan was, there was a happy medium they met when they were together, whether that was throwing each other into walls during P.E., demanding the other be like Sherlock Holmes and evade the other's attacks, or watching re-runs of 'Psych' on USA. It was a very easy going friendship. Now, all Ben could hope that his friends were at least safe from whoever was doing this to him. If they were safe, then his life was worth being in the un-safe balance. Then again, if they weren't safe, then Ben was going to be royally peeved off when he got out of this silent cell. He was going to wreak havoc, as soon as he ate a Twinkie and gained back the probably twenty or so pounds he'd lost in the past… However long he'd been here. As soon as he did that, someone's butt was getting thrown into a pit of poisonous snakes that ate the flesh off of bad people. Then he'd eat a slab of bacon over the rotting corpse of said person. … No one every claimed Ben couldn't be as insane as Dan. He just didn't like to make it such a 'public' thought. Suddenly, there was a small light and the sound of a door opening. Ben grew hopeful as a hand appeared and tore off a piece of bread, feeding it to him. Ben chewed thoughtfully, knowing that the servant, whoever it was, never left until all the food was gone and Ben's stomach was full. If there was anyone he'd never seen before in his life that he loved, it was this person, whoever they were, unless they were a robot. Ben didn't do robots after seeing 'Terminator' and 'I-Robot'. Ugh. Stupid Dan for forcing him to watch them all. Something about 'killer' robots send shivers down his spine. Ben took a sip of the water that the person offered him, and for the first time, he caught a glimpse of the hand up close. Though, in a flash it was gone again, from the small strip of light the cracked open door allowed the room. The water felt good as it slid down his parched throat and helped repair at least part of his cracked lips. Being a spy was glamorous, as Rebecca put it. Getting kidnapped, being tortured, oh, it's all in a day's work for someone of our caliber. No, we don't eat Steak and seafood each night, we get chained to chairs, beat up, and have to make sure we withhold any information we have, or risk being killed as soon as we are released back to our home country. So glamorous. Ben ate some more bread, and finished off the water quickly, careful not to let any dribble down his chin and escape him. Water was helpful, it made sure he didn't die, so therefore, loose water, and die. Ben didn't want to die before he, you know, got out and wreaked havoc on whoever had kidnapped and tried to kill him. A couple more bites of bread, and Ben knew he was finished, but the servant wasn't leaving like usual. He sat idle for a moment, before clearing his throat and rasping, "Hello?" A hand touched Ben's cheek, and said in a high trilling voice, "Master sent me here to keep you company, Benjamin. I hope I am fit enough." A groan left Ben's lips as he hissed, "… Victoria." Chapter Fifteen -- Spoiler:
So… yeah. Partying really isn't supposed to be this fun on a boat, that you're kinda-sorta locked on with a couple of your friends. But, in my defense, when a set of speakers suddenly appear in one of the ballrooms, hooked up with some really awesome music choices, and there just happens to be an espresso machine in the same room… Things happen. 'Sides, drinking so much coffee that it's impossible to fall asleep no matter what hour it is, and being able to blast music so loud you can fell the boat rocking, that's pretty awesome. Plus, spies never get to be loud. It's a sin to speak over a whisper, so shouting the lyrics to some of the most cliché pop songs while dancing around with Dan and Jay, was pretty high up on the 'I never want this day to end' list. Then again, when the music suddenly stopped, and I ran into a table because the lights were killed, that meant trouble. "Dan… Jay…" I whispered, feeling around in front of me and sitting the cup onto the table. My head pounded from the sudden silence as I heard no response from my friends. "Jay." I stated, my voice rising as fear and adrenaline pumped through my veins, (Which is a VERY BAD combination with five cups of coffee), "Dan." I growled, turning and pressing my back against the table. Okay, I could do this, if there was a threat, I could totally take it in a dark room, hyped up on caffeine and adrenaline. Sure. It was possible, in a James Bond movie. "YO!" I shouted, the hairs on the back of my neck standing up as the silence seemed to get louder (which, I knew was impossible, hypothetically, but shut up). "I swear, if someone is in this room, they're getting their butt kicked out of a porthole, and are going to be swimming with the fishies for the rest of the night." Something caused my skin to crawl as I whirled around and the lights flashed back on, the music starting up again, except the song had been changed. The All American Rejects blasted out of the speakers behind me, 'causing me to stumble backwards until I was standing in the middle of the ballroom, warily looking around. I knew this song. "Let me know, that I've done wrong, when I've known this all along. I go around, a time or two, just to waste my time with you." The song continued, well into the chorus before I croaked, "Crap." 'Dirty Little Secret' played in the background as I looked around the room and spotted Jay lying on the ground in front of the door. Dan was nowhere in sight as I raced forward and kneeled by my friend. Shaking his shoulder, shivers went up and down my spine as he rolled over and groaned, blearily looking at me before moaning, "The… Coffee… Something's… In. It." He ground out, shoving me away as the lights flipped off again. Okay, so horror movies were never really my thing, you always tell the main character to run away from the scary looking closet, but in the end they always end up going towards the stupid thing. My skin crawled as the silence over-whelmed me again and I heard the distinct sound of Jay being dragged away. "NO!" The cry came out of my mouth before I could fully realize what I was doing. Racing forwards in the darkness, my fist connected with something and I was thrown backwards. Flopping to the ground like a rag-doll as the lights came back on again, and I was left in the room. Alone. "Crap." I whimpered, "Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap!" The speakers started up again, playing I song I knew all too well, but only the first few chords before changing to another one. I knew the titles. I knew the songs. Whoever was doing this, was seriously messing with my head, or sending a subconscious message. "Careful." I whispered first, the name of the first song, "If Today was Your Last Day." I gulped, hearing the song change one last time, "Hit the ground Runnin'." So, there was really nothing in common with Paramore, Nickelback, or Keith Urban, but the song titles were enough to tell me to get the heck out of the ballroom. I had no idea what time it was as I kicked open the doors to the ballroom and ran down the small corridor, only having my hands as my weapons, and the fact that Dan, Jay, and I had made it our business to keep trained on the ship with the gym provided, but it kind of worked against me, considering that I had only been on this floor of the ship once, and had no idea how to get somewhere semi-safe without ending up in the boiler room, or kitchen. Which, now that I thought about it kitchen = weapons. I headed there, my feet pounding up the staircase as I kept my guard up. The stairwell door crumpled under my foot as I kicked it open and leapt over the wreckage, seeing no one on this level as I flat out raced towards the door to the dining room, hoping that my sense of direction wasn't going to fail me now. My head felt like I had just drank myself into oblivion (which, I've never had a drop of alcohol in my entire life, thank you) as I burst through the dining room doors and ran straight towards the one that I always saw the servants coming out of with our food. That door opened up all to easily, as I found myself barreling into a pitch black room that I'd never been in before. So maybe it wasn't the brightest idea I'd ever had, but when you get a message in song for that tells you today was your last day and that you'd better run, your judgment goes a little haywire. There was the terrifying sound of someone or something breathing before something connected with my head and I dropped to the ground, the senses knocked out of me. Where I was going to end up, I didn't care. I just wished I would wake up after all this.

Last time Lauren had been this angry, she had tried to burn the P.E. building to the ground at the boarding school. Last time Alley had been this angry, she had tried to kill her English teacher for giving her a 98 on a test. Last time Blake had been this angry, someone had given her an apple instead of an orange for lunch. So, yeah, this wasn't good. Jacob's connection had gone caput, a guard had snuck up behind Alley had whacked her in the head, Anna and Lauren both got tackled to the ground and handcuffs slapped on them, and Blake had three guards grab her and hold her down before tying a rag over her mouth and injecting some sort of anesthesia into her system, just to make sure. Now, they had all woken up in some sort of freaky warehouse, Lord knows where at, with a beat up and bruised Jay tied to a chair across the room, a terrified and pale Ben sat beside him, looking around like he hadn't seen the light of day in years, then an angry and glum looking Dan next to him. But that really wasn't the problem, sure all of them had been tied to chairs before, evil people really didn't trade chairs for big fluffy couches, or nice bean-bags; no, the problem was that three people in their group were missing. Anna, Jacob, and Rebecca. Sure, Bex could kick a guard senseless and then bring him back alive to crawl around and pick himself up, Jacob could wiggle his way out of any siduation with just a nail file and some gum, and Anna had her fair share of training with a gun, bow and arrow, and knives, but in the shape the team was in now, they all didn't know how long any of them would survive on their own. Lauren was the first to speak up, grunting and shifting in her uncomfortable position, "Man, the only thing that could make this place better would be if the trio of robo-evils sauntered in." "Nice nickname for the 'bots," Blake muttered sarcastically and rolled her eyes at Ben's confused look. "I guess you haven't had the pleasure of meeting our current evil's play-things. Robots. Or better yet, robot-versions of H.J., Icky-Vicky, and Evil-Ethan." Dan chuckled and rolled his head around in a circle, shaking his hair out in the process and frowning, "Man, I could use some bacon, or waffles right about now." "Even here, all you think about is food, why am I not surprised?" Alley asked, laughing humorlessly before looking at the bruised Jay, "You alright? You look like someone's been using you as their personal punching bag." Jay winced but nodded, not daring to open his mouth. "What happened to you guys anyways?" Alley asked next, directing the question to the three guys in the group that she hadn't seen in a while, "I mean, we were sent on a rescue mission to find you guys, got knocked out, and woke up here." Dan shrugged, he seemed to be the only one that wasn't wincing from too much pain, "Jay, Bex, and I were all on this boat for a couple of days or weeks," his brow furrowed, "Not really sure how long now that I think about it. It was nice though, we got fed, trained and were treated like the special guests of some big time rich dude." Dan cleared his throat and coughed a bit, wincing as if talking hurt, "We were… erm… partying," He flinched at Alley, Lauren, and Blake's glares before continuing, "and we got attacked, I was stuck with something and that's all I remember." Jay coughed at the end of Dan's sentence, wincing and looking at everyone, "Rebecca and I saw each other before I got knocked out, she didn't look hurt when she came over to me. There was something in the coffee I was drinking that put me out, but I remember hearing her hit something while it was dark and get thrown backwards. I don't know what or who it was, but all I remember is being dragged before the lights went out for me." He coughed again, shaking his head and groaning softly at some unseen pain in his body. Everyone seemed to look at Ben as he made a small sound and then whispered, "I've been locked in a room. Since I got compromised in my mission. I haven't seen anything for Lord knows how long. It was dark. And I only got fed once every couple of days." He shuttered, the horror story almost too much for him to say, "I don't know where I was, but the only person I saw was Victoria, that was yesterday… Or, I think it was. I don't really know. Time really wasn't my friend there. It was probably one of your robot buddies." "No," Dan shook his head, "I saw Bex throw the Vicky-bot into a swimming pool. Unless there are multiples of each, that would make sense." He frowned again, "If there are multiples, then it would be smart to assume that whichever bot we saw, had a doppelganger out there, in case it messed up, or got 'killed'." Blake scowled, her blonde hair messily falling into one of her eyes, "So, your saying that no matter how many of these things we short out, shoot, or drown, whoever's doing this is still going to be making more?" She laughed and shook her head, "Oh, that's just great. Gotta love the evil people, always gunning to make your life worse than anything you could ever imagine!" She chuckled with false cheeriness, while they all settled into their seats, ready for whatever show their current baddie was about to put on for them. There was always a dramatic show when they were all tied to chairs and in a room together, it was a given. Like presents at Christmas, or cheesy musical numbers in Disney movies. Epilogue -

I've had my fair share of waking up in dark rooms, tied to chairs, gagged, pain shooting through all other senses, and the increasing fear that I could die at any moment, but this was different. Sure, my head was KILLING me from where I had been knocked out, and I was still tied to a chair, but I wasn't alone, and the room wasn't dark, so that was a plus. "Jake?" I whispered, looking at one of my best friends, bound down to a chair with a huge bump on the back of his head, equal to mine. "How do we always in up in situations like this? I mean, for the president's son, you've got a pretty huge chance of getting knocked out and gagged at least once a week." Jacob snorted, coughing slightly and raising his head, "Nice to see you too, Rebby." "'Always hated that nickname." I muttered, groaning and rolling my neck around, trying to work the knot out of it. "You get knocked out too, Sub?" It was rare, but in our group of friends, we managed to still accidentally call each other by our RPC identities sometimes. It seemed odd, now, almost a full year later that we had all met and started training to become spies. Turning, I looked on the other side of me, to see Anna sitting there, looking terrified as her lip bleed a little and one eye seemed to be swelling of its own accord. Jake coughed a little before nodded and looking towards Anna, "You alright over there?" He questioned, a little laugh in his voice, like he knew Anna was going to get peeved at him for implying that she couldn't handle a bit of a hostage situation. Personally, I always thought these were fun. No, I'm some freak who likes pain, but the fact that EVERY evil person I've been kidnapped by, ties me up to a chair in an empty room, you'd think it gets tiring, but in reality it just gets annoying and a bit funny. Anna raised her head, glaring at me and Jake and spitting blood onto the floor, looking particularly peeved and kind of kick-butt as she struggled against her bonds, and I heard something that sounded suspiciously like ropes snapping. She smirked at us as she pulled her arms in front of her and waved at us, "Care to be untied?" I could hug Anna and Jacob both if I wasn't so worried about the rest of the gang at the moment. The three of us stood in a tight cluster beside the chairs, carefully looking around the teeny-tiny room we'd been shoved in. Adrenaline shot through my veins as we all whirled around to face the door, which was opening on the far wall, directly in front of us. Jacob glanced warily at me, while Anna's face went pale. No one came through the door, instead, it swung open to reveal some sort of vent, which gas poured out of. My last thought was 'Crap' as it reached the three of us and I dropped like a potato sack. - I woke in a completely different room. I knew that only because I heard soft sounds of struggling, even if I couldn't see anything. There was a blind-fold blocking any vision or light, and I knew that someone had placed a nasty rag in my mouth as a gag, though, I found if I struggled enough, the bonds around my hands shifted and slid around… Maybe… As I slightly shifted to the side, I suddenly stopped and listened to the rustling where ever I was. It sounded as if there were other people tied up, and a slight hope rose in my chest. Maybe, just maybe, they had been stupid enough to put us in the same room as everyone else. I mean, bad guys were stupid, but it was awesome luck if they were stupid enough to put you all in the same room. Situations ran through my head, from fear to hope, every emotion that was possible ran through my system, forcing jets of adrenaline to course through my veins, which in turn could be good or bad, depending on how strong my body was after the scientists had decided to play Operation with my unconscious body. A part of me thought about the possibilities, I mean, if it was true, and we were… enhanced… then maybe it was possible to better agents. My blood ran cold as a thought took up my entire mind. The traitor. One of my friends was a traitor. One of my friends that had the same operation, that had the power to tear the entire group apart in a few minutes with mind tricks, and literally. Terror made my chest constrict as I struggled harder against my bonds, starting to hear frantic breathing and gasps, but not being able to see anything. I was focused solely on one thing. That was getting out of these stupid bonds. I had to get out of these bonds. I had to tell my friends. I had to even see if these people were my friends, or if I was about to get the starring role in the next 'Saw' movie. Blood pounded in my ears as more scary thoughts assaulted my brain. Of course, being calm in this situation was just too much to ask for. I mean, all I knew, I could be faced with the decision to fight to the death with my friends in some psycho cage match… Or not. Most likely not. I really needed to stop watching old Mobster movies on Netflix. Point was. I had to get out of this rope. See if my friends were alright, and kick some major boo-tay where ever we were, before getting the heck out of here. Because I wasn't staying if I had a way to get out. Escaping was really about the only option I had right about now, if these other people weren't my friends. Unless I wanted to die. But I didn't. So there. "Mmph, mmmhmhmph, Mm!" I struggled against the bonds again, cursing a dark mantra in my head. Slowly, but surely, the blind-fold over my eyes slipped up and fell to the ground. My eyes adjusted to the harsh light, and I squinted, looking straight in front of me and refusing to face the sounds of whoever else was in the room with me as the bonds holding my hands fell to the ground in a heap. Quickly, and on auto-pilot, I leaned down and undid the bonds around my ankles before standing up and whirling around, realizing that the sounds were coming from behind, and that there was a circle of chairs that I had been a part of not five seconds ago. Slow and casual clapping could be heard as I looked horrified at the person in the center of the circle. Soon, all my friends were standing and staring at the one of us that wasn't tied down, that hadn't been ready to fight for their life, the one person that made our blood run cold and the harsh word 'traitor' escape my lips in a thin hiss. She smirked at me, cocking her head to the side and curling a piece of hair around her finger, before sighing and sitting down in a small chair and taking a sip of the bottle of water at her feet, like she was about to go into a long tirade. But, the only thing Anna said was, "Hey guys, nice to see it took you forever to figure it all out."
