Amberheart sighed. "Soon I'll need a new mate." She whispered. "I don't know who to choose, you or Branxhstar." She said.

Wolfstar nodded knowingly.

Branchstar moped in his den,.

Amnberheart looked up at him. She decided. "I'll tell you who I picked later." She sighed. "When the kits are apprenticed."

Wolfstar nodded, excitement and doubt inside him.

Branchstar muttered to himself. "Ok.. Warriors to mentor the kits.."

Amberheart padded into Branchstar's den. "I have some ideas!" She whispered. "Wolfstar, toothfang, fernstorm, me, you.." She trailed off.

Branchstar nodded. "If you could go get the kits, I'll have the cermony." Branchstar said dully. He padded out of his den.

Wolfstar smiled, he knew it had to be him.. But what about Storm?

Amberheart nodded, sadly. She knew she should be happy, but her choice of mate is bothering her. She loved him, though. She gathered the kits dully and smiled, not very well.

Cloudkit and the other kits followed their dad onto the highrock, Hazelkit could sense something was wrong, some how, some way.

Branchstar yowled, though not as.. Happy, as usual. "All cats old enough to catch there own prey gather!"

Amberheart sat down and looked at her kits. She smiled weakly and shuffled her paws. THe time was near. Her eyes felt a bit damp. She didn't know how to tell the cat that she didn't chose.

"Cloudkit, Stripekit and Lionkit, step forward first please." Branchstar said, faking a small smile. "Cloudkit, Stripekit and Lionkit from now on you will be known as Cloudpaw, Stripepaw and Lionpaw. Cloudpaw, your mentor is me. Stripepaw, your mentor is Fernstorm, and Lionpaw, your mentor is Amberheart." he said.

Amberheart dipped her head and touched noses.

Branchstar touched noses with Cloudpaw, and Fernstorm with Stripepaw. "Hazelkit, and Smallkit, step forward." They did. "From now on, you will be known as Hazelpaw and Smallpaw. Hazelpaw, your mentor will be Toothfang, and Smallpaw, yours is W-" He voice trembled, and he breathed, "Wolfstar." He said.

Wolfstar and Smallpaw touched noses.

Amberheart gave Branchstar a stare. She growled and stalked away.

Branchstar looked at Cloudpaw, ignoring Amberheart's glare. "Go make a nest in the apprentice den, and tell your siblings." He said, and Cloudpaw bounded over to his brothers and sisters, and they all raced to the apprentice den.

Wolfstar followed Amberheart. "Are you gonna tell whos your new mate?" He asked coolly.

Amberheart flicked her tail, and kept on walking. She stopped and spun around. Her eyes were full of tears. "He hates me." She whimpered, then she stopped. "He's too emotional...so, for your infomation, I choose you. Go tell the lump of furball Branchstar!" She hissed.

Wolfstar nodded, and smiled. He raced toward Branchstar.

"What is it?" Branchstar snapped.

Amberheart stalked away toward the warrior den.

Wolfstar grinned. "She. Chose. Me. And she thinks your an emotional lump of fur." He said simply, and went to his den.

Branchstar blinked back the tears of sadness, and anger toward Wolfstar. He stormed out of camp, a single tear rolling down his cheek.

Amberheart sighed. Her cheeks were damp and her eys were soaked.

Wolfstar decided he needed to leave Amberheart alone for now, and grinned to himself.

Branchstar sighed, and was near BloodClan, but not too near, as tears rolled down his cheeks, making his fur damp. He looked at the ground, the person he loved since he was an apprentice.. A stupid love-struck apprentice. He sighed again.

Amberheart got up and stalked toward Wolfstar.

"Hello, Amberheart!" Wolfstar said softly, noticing her dampened fur near her eyes.

Amberheart sighed. "What about Storm?" She asked.

Wolfstar's heart beta quickened a little. "Storm.. Is probaly gone, I haven't seen her in a few days, she most likely left." he said.

Amberheart raised her eyebrow. "Oh. I saw her yesterday, in fact. She wasin castaway bay."
