As the rain falls down-----
As the storm rumbled on, the flashes of lightning illuminated the night, like strobe lights. A small gray kitten panicked, failing again and again to dash away from the two stern, serious cats next to her, as they blocked the struggling kit from rushing to her sister’s side. A brown cat and a orange cat were her interest. Suddenly, the orange cat slashed off the tip of the brown cat’s ear. The brown cat, yowling in pain from the sensitive nerves, stumbled back.
“No! AutumnFire!” The dark gray kit yowled.
The brown cat, staggering, smiled. “I’m…I’m fine, kid.”
The two cats, who were holding the kitten back, had faces wrinkled with worry. One was black, the other a grayish-white. The black one slashed her tail with worry, the white one frowning, his body trembling.
“Falllingkit….just, just stay back.” The white one said.
Fallingkit whimpered, relaxing slightly. She sighed, and stopped struggling.
AutumnFire growled, whipping towards the orange cat, who was grinning. "Sunsetfur..."
"What, angry that your beautiful ears were shredded??" The cat smiled evilly again.
In a flash of claws, the brown she-cat slashed open the skin on Sunsetfur's thigh. With a yowl of pain, Sunsetfur growled, licking the fresh blood.
AutumnFire yowled, nipping at the orange cats paws, darting. Sunsetfur jerked back, and darting forward, latched onto AutumnFire's neck. The she-cat, eyes wide, slowly began to suffocate.

"AutumnFire!" Fallingkit darted forward, this time not being held back, rather accompanied. Sadly, three cats distracted the black and the white cats, and Fallingkit ran alone to her sister's side. Sunsetfur had darted off to rejoin the battle with a different opponent. Why had it ended like this? A troop of loners were no threat, they had just been passing through these rougues territory, it wasn't as if they weren't allowed to walk here. And it wasn't like they knew there had been cats living here, so of course they had assumed it was ok to hunt.

Memories of her sister flashed, and she sat down, her front paws shaking the body. Scarlet crept along the grass, and somewhere in her, Fallingkit knew her sister was gone. Tears flowed, and a the cat wailed, alone as the tears flowed with the storm.

Many moon-cycles later......

Falling sighed, her furred face had been permanatly stained with her tears, the fur under her eyes dried out, but matted and darker colored than the rest of her fur. it had a bluish tinge to it, and because of this, the young kit-in-training was to be a fighter, a full fledged member of her wandering tribe very soon, her hunter name was going to be fallingfire, in honor of her sister that she grieved for. AutumnFire hadn't left her mind for the first moon-cycles after she died, she was just a kit, and nearly died from starvation, refusing to eat. In training with her was Winter, a kind young cat who, although Falling did not realize it, had a crush on her. Falling's best friend, Scarlet, comforted her as she stared into the sunset. Nearby, Winter smiled. "Falling...Are you ok? You hungry?" he asked kindly.
"I'm fine..." Falling purred, glad to have a good friend like Winter. To Winter's sadness, that's all he was-a friend. He was still content though.
"Ok, I'll get you the juicyest rabbit I can find! Your favorite, I'll look for the thin furred one. If there isn't one good enough in the pile, I'll be hunting near the Cherry tree, ok?"

Falling blinked gratefully at Winter. "Thanks."

Winter blushed. "It's nothing."

As he padded away, Scarlet giggled.
"What?" Falling asked, irritated.
"He's cute. so how far are you with him?"
"HUH?!" Falling blinked, astonished. "What are you saying, Scarlet?!"
Scarlet stopped giggling and frowned. "You're serious?! You haven't noticed?!"
"Noticed what?" Falling replyed.
"Well, duh, every she-cat knows he likes you."
Falling blushed. "But we're only in training!"
"Yeah, well he still likes you."
As her other friend padded away to leave her alone, Falling stared at the grayish green cat that was leaving the camp. Was Scarlet right? Did Winter really...she blushed...Like her? She smiled, gazing fondly at the cat, whom she had never wondered why he stuttered, why he was blushing alot, why he was so nice. But what could he possibly like about me? She wondered. "I'll be a better cat....for Winter, and for AutumnFire." Falling vowed. smiling, she padded back into the den.

Okay, first of all, Winter and Falling are officially the cutest couple, ever! :3
And secondly, I really love your style of writing, the way you talk about what's going on in the main character's (Falling, who by the way is a great character, I love her! ^^) head, and the emotion portrayed in your writing, I think it's great! ^^
Would you mind if I made some fanart for your story? I'd need to know what Falling, Winter, and Scarlet look like, that is, if you don't mind. :)

I'll even make a picture of the characters later so you can have a better idea of what they look like. for now i'll give you a brief description

Winter is a dark greenish-gray, with bright amber eyes, and is always smiling. he has silver mitten style paws, silver tipped tail. he has brown striped legs and a white splotch around his left eye.

scarlet is an bright red-brown, with soft green eyes. she's kind of peppy and hyper. she has thin whiskers, longish fur, a tail ringed with black, front right paw is completely white. she has a few gray, orange, and white, dark brown, and black patches on her torso, like a calico.

meanwhile, falling is a soft gray, with turquiose eyes, and a brown and white striped tail. her fur is smooth sleek, and short. she's not as talkative as her friend and has a small soft smile. both her ears are orange, and her paws are all white with silver stripes on her legs. she has a white under belly, but her snout is the same soft gray as the rest of her fur.

Of course it deserves fanart, Miso! :D

--Winter padded into the den circle. He dropped the rabbit. "Hmm?" He sighed. "Falling,"
--The gray cat purred, and stepped out of the den, smiling. "You took your time." She twitched her tail, tapping the gray-green tom's shoulder. "Thank you."
--"Oh, um...it was..nothing..." Winter turned away, blushing.
--Falling smiled, and licked the shy tom's ear.
--Winter whipped his head, and stared in amazement. "What's gotten into you, Falling?"

Falling smiled.

Scarlet padded into the clearing. "Why, hello you two lovebirds."
--They both blushed in unison, turning to the ginger she-cat. "We're not--"
Scarlet cut them off. "Hey, hey, just joking." She sat down calmly, began licking her paw.
"You don't have to be so sensitive..." She said between licks, and spat out the fur.
--Both shyly turned towards each other, then immediantly turned their gaze to their paws.
"Well, see you later, Winter, gotta go on dawn patrol," Falling mewed to her paws.
"Yes, see you, Falling, we can go hunting together later, if Echosong allows you to." Winter replied to his tail.
"Yeah, I'll ask her on the patrol." Falling answered, addressing a stick near her tail.

As they padded in opposite directions, Scarlet sighed.
"Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to tell Falling." She mrewed, stiffling a rumble of laughter.

Falling sighed, and padded to the rest of the patrol. "Hi, Echosong. I'm ready!"

Echosong, a pale eyed black cat, purred goodnaturedly. "That's great. Then we just have to wait for Scarlet."

"Kay, then." Falling smiled. "Oh, yeah, and Echosong? Can I go hunting with Winter after the patrol?" She shuffled her paws and gazed sincerely at her mentor.

Echosong flicked her tail as the breeze ruffled the two she-cats fur. "Of course. More prey is always welcome. I'm sure Shadowhawk would love some."

Falling twitched her whiskers in amusement. "Yes, as long as it's perfect."

Echosong mrowed with laughter. "Very true. But don't tell Shadowhawk that. Alright then, looks like Scarlet's here, we've been dawdling long enough."

Falling blinked her eyes in surprise, she had been so absorbed in the conversation, she hadn't noticed the other cats walking away.
"Come ON you two! Save the chit-chat for later!" Eclipsestreak called.
"We're coming!" Falling answered as she padded towards the rest of the patrol.

Winter mewed nervously. well, now that he was in the forest, he might as well hunt. he might even, (he chuckled nervously at the idea) impress Falling with a good catch. He sniffed the air. There was a patrol, he didn't want to go near there, all the cats pawpads would scare prey. he crept towards the mapleglazen, a large grove with lots of oak, nut, and cherry trees. As he calmly trotted to the Mapleglazen, he sniffed the air continuosly. Pricking his ears, he recognized the sound and scent of a mouse. Then it came into view. It was a large, fat mouse, and had eaten more than one too many cherries. It was currently nibbling at a blackberry it had found. He flattened his body to the grounds, each pawstep so low he was a snake, hissing, slithering in the grass, his tail laid still, his ears constantly twitching and pricking, twisting like an owls head, his eyes locked on his target.....and he dashed forward. He was still a ways away from the mouse, but he could easily get there in time. He sprung, he pounced, and....
Right on target! Triumphantly sitting with his prey at his paws, he licked the blood, his fur rumpled. He was sure EclipseStreak would love this. Or WhiteCrane, his mentor. Yes, the white tom would definetly appreciate it, and he could show it off to Leaf, Scarlet, and especially Falling before giving it to the senior tribe-cat. He smiled, then found a good bush, digging throughly at the roots, and sticking it between two roots firmly. He scraped the earth back over the prey and patted it firmly. Yes, this would definetly impress Falling.

Finally, FINALLY, patrol was over. Dakmo sighed. Those crazy tribe cats. Why, why did they always get in the way? He flicked his tail. As the cats prowled away, he crept out. A cat in the back of the group caught his attention. A she-cat. She smelled strongly of embarresment and anticipation. He sighed. this she-cat was obviously in love. Dakmo wondered who the lucky tom was.

Dakmo was blind, but that didn't bother him. He could tell more things then others. He sniffed the air, and flashed open his blind eyes. Hm....the she-cat wasn't the original one in love. The cat, smelling sweetly of white orchids and passion roses, caught his curiosity as well as his attention. He wanted to know how this turned out. "C'mon, Falling!" a voice called. not from the she-cat. so the she-cat was called "falling." Interesting.

Today, just for today, Dakmo decided to turn away from the thinned woods leading to the alleyways. He slipped through the brush, to follow Falling.

Falling hesitated. "Er....ok."
Scarlet was puzzled. "hey, what's wrong?"
The gray she cat blushed, embarresed. "Oh, just a silly little worry..."
Her friend nudged her, grinning from ear to ear. "aw...c'mon, you can tell me!" She purred, padding forward. "Aren't I your friend?"
Falling no longer stuttered. "It's just...I feel like someone's watching me." The she-cat trotted after the reddish-brown trainee ahead of her.
Scarlet stopped, blinking twice. She paused, and burst out laughing. "Hee-hee....Yeah right. You worry too much. Besides, Winter's waiting for you, 'member?" The cheerful young cat had a teasing note in her voice, which Falling ignored.
Falling perked her ears, brightening, and blushed. "Yeah. You're right." She smiled, trotting ahead.

Winter sighed, waiting. Where could that cat be....Well, the patrol wasn't back yet, so they would be soon. "Still." He murmered. "I don't like waiting."
He pricked his ears and stood up quickly, alert, as the bushes rustled.
"Then don't." He relaxed, recognizing Falling's voice and purring. He picked the mouse. "Look at this catch I got! I'm going to give it to Whitecrane." He stared anxiously at Falling as the three other apprentices gathered around.

Leaf hesitated at first. "Shaa, like it's really THAT cool."
Scarlet grinned, prodding the grumpy tom. "Heh, you're just jealous."
Leaf frowned. "Well, shaa. But you are too."
Scarlet smiled again, giggling. "Well, I'm not putting on a white hat and calling myself a saint."
Winter smiled. It was perfect. Leaf was jealous. Of HIM. His OLDER brother, Leaf. Jealous. He flickered his gaze at Falling, hopeful. Her eyes were shining with happiness, joy, and an impressed air. She seemed to have a hint of envy and pride. He smiled. Perfect.

Falling smiled. She was, of course, jealous of the catch, but proud as well. She was content, grinning from ear to ear, a smile for Winter, her tail wrapped around her paws.

Night fell, and the stars streaked, slithering from beneath the rosy red blanket, thrusting out the curtain of twilight, then black. The shivering moonlight, pale, washing everything to a cold stone gray, flickered, filtered, reaching slenderly at the greenish gray tom. The winds nipped at his fur, trying to playfully tickled at his moss covered body. His nest was tucked around him neatly, just enough to protect his from the kit-like winds of midnight, which slithered through the cave and wailed for an exit at the farther end. He shared his den with no one, alone with the threatening cold, hard walls.
Eyes flashed in the midnight winds. A masked scent flickered through the night like a dying firefly.
Of course, no cat noticed it, the small, subtle trace of padded footsteps, the whip of a tail, the eyes glowing, pale blue. Although the eyes could not see, at least not at this moment, visions came, flashed through his mind when needed. Dakmo was cold and calculated, not murderous, not harmful, but callous. The small loner flickered, like a moon spirit with his own pale gray aura, he skittered into Winter's den, kicking a stone to the young cat's head. This was the one.
