Stripepelt grinned with satisfaction. "Well, if Amberstar left she probably will be." Stripepelt felt himself swell with happiness. "Toothstar said I could leave, and you could stay. I never said I WOULD." He smirked to himself. "But, they probably will find me eventually.." He mused.

Raincloud shrugged. "If I don't head back, some others will be wondering what's taking me so long. I hope I see you later," she purred, then picked up her herbs and began to head back to camp, Stripepelt following her -- in her mind. The marigold's scent was as sweet as her mood, and it looked like there were bees in her mouth with all the yellow flowers. She would look for borage in a moment; she had to drop these off first.

Stripepelt nodded, he had to find somewhere to LIVE first, really. He suddenly thought of Mellowstar, and wondered why. Wasn't he related to him..? Weird thought.

Brackenheart swiped his ear. "We have to find something to do with Toothstar...."

Larchheart looked [s]out the window[/s] at Brackenheart. She never really had anywhere else to look. "But what? We have to knock some sense into him." Her heart lurched. "Or are we being too friendly?" She would look down but, being with Brackenheart, she couldn't.

(Guys, Seriously. Toothstar isn't bad. Leaders pu their clans first. He isn't bad. It's really hurting my feelings.)

As Raincloud returned to camp, she glanced at Larchheart, and said through a mouthful of herbs, "Who's the new leader?" Placing the coltsfoot gently at her own paws, Raincloud looked up hopefully at Larchheart -- although not without obvious despair. Stripepelt's exile was unfair, she thought..... her tail swished thoughtfully.

(You can bring him back, besides, Fernstorm aand Larchheart are the leaders. Larchheart is the strongest.)

Larchheart's ears drooped a little bit. "Me. It's a whole bunch of responsibility, though." Her stomach was in a knot. She looked a bit angry, and her claws slid out. To stop herself from clawing anything, she dug them into the earth. "I'm confused..."

She felt warmth by her side, and a dry, bitter scent came to her nose. She felt as if she couldn't look who it was, although she knew. Did he really like her this much? To be by her side every moment? The words of a long-lost song of a long-lost language slid into her head. She knew their meaning, and she could sense them in his mind.

On the road that goes on forever,
lots of things happen, don't they.
You try to show your courage
But today, I hear your crying voice from beyond the rocks.

She always felt odd during the third and fourth lines. She could barely ever remember the actual meaning and not the literal one.

What dreams have you chased to get where you are now
Even I have times I don't understand

By the end, she had grown silent. She closed her eyes and brought his image to her head. She knew he was supporting her, as he always had. She wanted to feel his gentle paws next to hers, and the inaudible voice with which he always spoke.

"I'm going to the Moon[_] tonight with Fernstorm," she declared. "I can be Larchstar then."

Fernstorm sighed.

Larchheart turned her head. "Sorry, Fernstorm, you're the best one I could think of." She smiled. "And I bet you'll do a great job!"
I couldn't make Brackenheart leader, because then there would be chaos. Something might go wrong.

"Now for the Mooncliff... it's getting dark. We should leave soon."

Fernstorm lugged herself up. "Of course," She said.

Larchheart began towards the exit. "We can eat when we get back. We're not THAT hungry right?" She met her eyes with Brackenheart for one last time in a while, letting herself see the way her eyes looked, the same color.
And she left the camp quickly, waiting outside for Fernstorm.

Fernstorm followed Larchheart suite. "Of course," She replied/

As they trekked, Larchheart turned to Fernstorm. "That appears to be your catchphrase," she said cheerfully.

Fernstorm rolled her eyes, and grinned playfully.
