| Subject: Reach for the Sky ~ A slayer story ~ Prologue - Chapter Six Mon Dec 20, 2010 6:50 pm | |
| Author's note- This is my slayer story. It has some of an idea Bex gave me, but I changed it a bit. I do use Spike, just younger. Credit to Joss Whedon. xD Um, it's not always going to be in Diary format. And it will wayyyyyy longer. This is just the beginning. Enjoy. Reach for the Sky~ Prologue ~- Spoiler:
Dear Diary, What a scary day today. Again. More of those creatures, or things came and attacked April and I after school. They had pointy fangs and and messed up wrinkled faces, just liike yesterdays attack. It was the same speech over again too. Something about killing the new slayer? April was staring at me like I was some type of crazy nutcase. Just like all the other jerky kids do when I walk in the halls. She looked terrified, and I looked even worse. They wern't human, obviously, and I think they know I live alone, at age sixteen. right here, in this old rundown apartment building. I bet they're watching me write in you, a rundown leather journal this instant. Anyway. So we ran as fast as humanly possible. Right when one was about to grab me, this lady comes out and shoves a piece of sharpened wood straight into his heart. He turned to ash. Freaking ash. Just poof! The other three ran off, surprised and probably not wanting to turn into dust. Then she was looking at me like I was special. Special. Me, Skylar Smith, the loony outsider of Silvercreek highschool. The one who is always dreaming and zoning off, the girl who was flimsy white dresses and has the messiest blonde hair on earth. April had stepped up to her and completly spazzed about what had just happening, go on and on and on until the person shushed her. I suddenly heard something shuffle behind me, then a hand was on my shoulder. The mysterious woman pulled out her pointy piece of wood, and I turned, nervous. It was sonly Spike, ak.a, my runaway friend, just like me. The boy who paid the bills for my house, created all the fake iID's, and acted as, you know. A teenage boy. He took me to all the parties he went too, etc. He was two yeas older than me, which always put him in charge when we were roaming the streets, looking for something he could steal for us. He had that look in his eyes, the one he gives drunk idiots who even come near me. The I-will-not-hesitate-to-tear-you-to-pieces look. The woman just put her stake away irritably and looked me in the eyes. I could of died right then I was so scared. "You're a little young for a vampire slayer, Sky." Is that a good thing?
Yours, Sky (or Skylar) Anne Smith ~ Chapter One ~- Spoiler:
"Sky! Skylar Smith!" I sighed, turning my back on where the voice was coming from. I wasn't in the mood to talk to Mitchell and his little friends. he's not bad, just popular. His friends absolutly hate me, but he doesn't, which I find weird. I mean, I only let him copy off my work once. Knowing Mitchell, he forgets things quickly. I glanced at April, who looked just as annoyed as I did. She's such an awesome friend. Avoiding Mitchell, dealing with weird creatures and ladies, not flirting with Spike, (though I know she likes him) and chewing out the bullies. I played with the collar of my tight wihite shirt, rubbing the woven fabric between my fingers. The old locker shut with a clink and I felt someone grab my arm. Suddenly, memories from last night flooded me and I shook it off and looked up, startled. "You didn't wait." Mitchell said impatiently, his friends behind him. I heard April cough meaningfully behiind me and I just shrugged. "Why would we?" She spoke up for me, as I leaned down to grab my tattered bookbag before Mitchell's friends did. "I mean, it's not like you're fri-" Aprfil started, before I grabbed her hand and glared. "Spike's going to think I was kidnapped or something if we don't go, April." I said, lying through my teeth. He didn't really care, as long as I checked in with him behind the school before heading home. Now don't think I live with him. He stays out on the streets, or with his friends. He pays the bills to where I stay, and often crashes there too. I met him a couple years ago, and we've been inseperable since. I don't exactly love him or anything. Think of him as my guardian, I guess. A guardian who's drunk twelve hours a day and his stealing the other twelve. Mitchell raised an eyebrow at me. "What, is he you're boyfriend, Sky?" "Now wait a minute-" April started furiously again, but I yanked her harder, finally dragging my friend out the door. So maybe sometimes Mitchell was a jerk. But he usually kept the bullies away, if he isn't being one himself. Bipolar, right? April finally came to her senses and pulled away, but continued to follow me down the school steps. We veered toward the back of the school, making sure nobody follow. No one except April knew I lived alone, the only person to care for me was a English teenager named Spike. My parents died ten years ago in Sunnydale, California, when I was away in Michigan to see my uncle. When I came back, all that was left of the town as a huge, giant hole. Talk about scary. I spotted Spike when we turned a corner. He smirked at us. That's sort of his way of smiling. "Glad you came this time. you know, after you wern't here yesterday." I snorted, and he just shrugged. "I come and go. You know that, Skylar. Besides, you're lucky I caught up when you met that watcher." "The whater?" I asked, blinking incredously at him. He looked surprised for a moment, but then sighed. "Nevermind. Bloody lady won't leave me alone. She was pretty pissed when she followed me to you're place and found out you lived alone." He muttered, looking uncomfortable. My eyes widened slightly. "Spike! We're you drunk or something? She can't know. I've avoided her as long as I could, ignoring all this slayer crap. I can't just be a slayer. I hardly get what they do except save the world from wrinkly faced demons." I snapped at him. He blinked, stunned at my outbreak. "Forget it, Sky. Go home and get some rest, or go to April's." He said through clenched teeth. I shook my head in disgust and turned my back on him. April followed reluctantly, glancing back at Spike once before we turned toward the shabby apartment.
~
Mitchell was furious. He watched Sky and April walk away from him, just like that. Without a second glance. usually all the girls admired him. But not Sky. She ignored him, and April, the pest, always went along with it. That's why he liked the strange girl. He always wondered what she was daydreaming about, he was sure everyone did, because she did it so often. She didn't dress the same as them, usually in white or extremly pale colors. No matter what people said, she always stayed the same. He nodded at his friends behind him, and they departed as he walked after Sky, keeping a fair distance between them. He stopped at the corner and heard arguing. Sky and some boy he saw her meet up with everday. The boy had pale, almost white hair that stuck up everywhere, but seemed to look fine anyway. He wore a lot of leather and sounded british. He leaned closer, only able to make out a couple of thinngs before Sky pulled April away furious, passing Mitchell without even looking. "Another bloody stalker?" A voice said, and Mitchell blinked. the boy looked down at him, a smirk on his face. they were about the same height, but he seemed older. How'd he know? "Who are you?" Mitchell asked, his arms crossed stubbornly. "That's none of your business, but if you're really wondering abou' it, Spike." "Sky's boyfriend?" "Something like that." He said, dismissivly, still staring at Mitchell. Mitchell found it odd that they were so close, and no breath seemed to come off Spike. "Sky has a drunk boyfriend?" He asked, looking at the bottle in Spike's hands. Suddenly, the older boy grabbed his collar, glaring. "Now you listen here. Leave Sky alone, or I'll make you." He hissed. Mitchell looked unphased for a moment, then something seemed to happen. Spike's face seemed to morph in front of him. What Mitchell noticed most were the fangs. "Leave her alone." He said again, grinning. Mitchell nodded furiously and scrambled away as fast as possible, not looking back as Spike laughed.

Lila sighed, running a hand through her hair nervously. She fell to her knees in front of him, her head bowed. The intruging sensation in her throat burned. Blood. She needed blood. But she couldn't go yet. Not when she was going to be rewarded greatly for her findings. "Lila, it's nice to see you again." He whispered in his raspy, snide voice. "Sir, we've found the watcher and the new slayer. The slayer is in denial, so she does not pose a threat yet. I suggest we rid of her before it is too late." She said, her head still bowed loyally. She could hear him getting up and walking toward her, curious. She felt his hard, cold hand on her shoulder, and she stood up, her hand behind her back respectivly. "Very nice job. Very nice indeed." He murmered in her ear. "I'm afraid that I can not go after her myself. I am still recovering from the rising and being in this form." He said, glancing down at the body he is using. "The slayer before her smashed my bones, so now I have this." He sighed. "Yes, sir. It was tragic." She muttered quickly. He smiled at her. "You are dismissed. I will give you you're award soon enough, Lila." "Yes Master. But I have one more thing." She said, swallowing and trying to calm the fury in her throat. He looked at her again, puzzled. "We have found the traitor."
~ Chapter Two ~ - Spoiler:
I sat on the old rotting porch, running a hand through my messy hair. The watcher lady sat next to me, and I had learned her name was Riley. Nothing else. Just Riley. I had gotten back here fuming, and she explained as much as she could to me about my "duty". (Yeah right.) I was only half listening. Apparently a slayer hunts down creepy vampires and kills them with pointy pieces of wood called a stakes. Then there was this thing called a prophecy of four slayers instead of just one, and otehr stuff i didn't hear. I'm the original slayer. At first I thought she was crazy. But now I think she may be right. Two groups of vampires already attacked me. Weird, right? "We'll start training right away." Riley continued, standing up. It scared me how young she looked when she was almost thirty four years old. She said that most watchers usually read books and tell the slayer what to do, but she decided to help slayers instead of inform them by staking and gettingin shape. "Training? Like fighting?" I asked, a little shaky. I wasn't exactly what you'd call violent. if I could muster the courage to even shove Mitchell or those stupid bullies, I totally would in less than a second. "Yeah. Come at me." She said impatiently, bracing herself. I stared at Riley incredously, but then slammed my fist into her face without thinking. She stumbled and raised an eyebrow at me, but I was just staring at my hand. Flexing my fingers, I stepped back, and April was snickering under her breath. This went on for awhile. I usually mnaged hit and dodge Riley, but she was really good. Maybe I was just still dumbfounded that I was able to do this. Or I was dreaming. Riley stood up, out of brath, while I was just standing there, hardly tired at all. "I have no doubts whatsoever you're the slayer. But you're not good enough yet to kill a nest of vampires." She sighed, flopping down next to April. I gave her the slightest smile and just shrugged. April looked amused as she stood up, hugging me. "God, you were so awesome! Why can't you do that to those kids at school? Or Mitchell?" She asked, pouting mockingly. I wasn't sure why either. I just seemed to freeze up around people besides April and Spike. Riley was older, and she wanted me to hit her anyway. "We will continue later, Skylar. I have to go contact the three other watchers to see if they have any progress on finding these three other slayers. I nodded slowly at her, then took her place, sitting by April. I wasn't sure if that was good or bad. I wanted to be one of a kind, no one else like me. But maybe it will be good to have others fighting by my side, knowing what it's like to be a vampire slayer too.
~
Spike laughed as Mitchell scampered away, looking frightened out of his mind. His face turned back to normal and he smirked, turning and heading the way Sky had left. He sighed, running a hand through his bleached hair. So his Skylar was the legendary slayer. He frowned at this, looking irritated and upset. He had been so sure that he wouldn't run into one again, especially after Sunnydale. He hadn't even considered it when he had met Sky on the streets. He had been planning to suck her dry, but something seemed different about her, almost special. Then he had become friends with a human girl, watching after her in his own little way. Now she was the stupid slayer, wanting to kill his kind. Spike kicked a trash can, knocking it over. It seemed to suddenly stop rolling as it hit something blocking the way. Spike stepped over the garbage that had fallen out, picking up the can and tossing it out of the way. The blockage was a human body. Dead. And obviously drained of blood. Spike was about to walk away when he noticed someing odd imprinted on the victim's hand. He kneeled down, picking up their hand ungraciously. He regonized the symbol instantly, and he dropped the hand, jumping to his feet. "Welcome back." He muttered sourly under his breath, and he stalked toward Sky's house without another word.
~
Lila watched Spike from the top of the deli, smiling to herself gleefully. She played with the hem of her black shirt, which was way too short. Her curly black and purple hair blew in her face as she watched as he stalked away, toward the filthy slayer's house. He probably knew she was there, and had been watching him. He's 130 years old, for goodness sakes. She silently jumped off the roof, landing gracefully in front of the dead body. She leaned closer to it, giggling hyseterically. "You can wake up now, Timothy Wethers." She whispered in his ear. The man blinked open his eyes, looking confused for a minute. Then a smirk spread across his face as he sat up, peering at Lila curiously. She held up his hand, revealing the strange mark. "You know what this is don't you, Timmy?" She said, her voice high-pitched and excited. He stared down at his hand and then nodded eagerly. "Is it-?" He started, and Lila nodded before he could finish. "The master's mark. It's your source to the power no other vampire will have. And you know what you are going to do with it?" She continued, straighting up and lookng up at Tim. He glanced at where Spike had disappeared too. "Kill the slayer." He answered simply. Lila nodded, giggling, nearing hysteria. The girl won't see it coming. The plan is perfect. Just perfect. ~ Chapter Three ~- Spoiler:
Riley watched me curiously as I practiced the moves she had demonstrated, attempting multiple flips and then instantly stabbing the dummy with a stake. I kept falling in mid-flip, and I'd start hysterically giggling on the ground. Riley would just roll her eyes and wait for me to get up, and then we'd repeat this. April had left moments ago, due to something "more important than constantly watching me fail". I sat up, rubbing my head and grinning slightly. "Let's take a break, Riley." I suggested, and she nodded, leading me out of the room we had set up for training. It was shabby and old, but Riley said it'd be fine until she could rent a place for me. I couldn't say I wasn't excited. Spike defiantly was ready to move too, much to Riley's displeasure. When Riley had brought it up to Spike and I, Spike had said no, claiming this place had a familar aurora to it. Then we had both started to crack up, and agreed to move out. "So, are you ready to face your first vampire?" Riley asked suddenly, and I looked at her, startled. A real vampire? We've only had a couple days of training. Maybe I was ready, but the little instinct inside me said I shouldn't. "Sure." I answered quickly. Who cares about gut instincts?

"A graveyard? Why, out of all places, a graveyard?" I whined, trailing after Riley. She looked irritated when she turned around, placing a hand on her hip. "Because this is a vampire hotspot." She answered thickly, her voice firm and annoyed. I just rolled my eyes, clutching the wooden stake in my hand tightly. I ran my fingers over the creases and cracks in the wood, a little nervous. "I'll go this way, and you head that way. If you need help... Well, you'll be dead by then. Good luck, Skylar." She said, trudging off in the other direction as I stared after her, bewildered. I turned around, my green eyes wide and alert. I could feel my heart pounding hard against my chest, which was not a good thing if I wanted to stay alive. I started to walk slowly in the other direction of my watcher, breathing hard. "Come out, come out where ever you are, you stupid little bloodsuckers." I muttered. Everything seemed perfectly silent at the moment, so I loosened my grip on the stake, and almost instantly I felt something hit my back, and hard. I toppled to the ground, getting a mouthful of dirt before I was able to turn around and face my attacker. As soon as I stood up they had pinned me against a gravestone. I looked up at the face, and was instantly confused. It was a human girl, about the same age as me. She was also holding a stake to my heart, and I was doing the same to her. "Who the **** do you think you are?" I snapped, shoving her away roughly. The girl seemed stunned for a moment. She had blonde hair, with little streaks of purple blending in with it. Her eyes were a dark brown, and she seemed as shocked as I was. "Ridley Chatser. Who are you?" "Skylar Smith. You shouldn't go poking sticks at innocent girls, you know." "I-I'm sorry, I thought you were a vampire and-" "Well, maybe you should be more careful, hm?" "I said sorry! It's just hard, learning I was a slayer and al-" "I'm a slayer too, stupid." "Really?" She said curiously, peering at me excitedly. "Oh! My watcher said something about a prophecy with four slayers. You're the original one, right?" I just nodded at her, my eyes still narrowed into slits. She threw her arm around my shoulders, like we were best friends. Riley appeared out of the bushes, breathless. Her eyes brightened at the sight of Ridley. "Ridly Chatser! I've been expecting you. Is Mark around?" She asked curiously, coming closer. "Mr. Ferace? No, he's still in South Carilona. He sent me here right away when he got your message, miss, and he'll be arriving soon." She said, her voice formal and polite. I started to snicker and Riley purposefully ignored me. I had a hunch it was going to be the longest night ever.
~
Timothy strolled through the streets, sticking to the shadows for extra precaution. He had to wait to find the bratty slayer, according to Lila. The stupid girl, she had no idea what she was talking about. The slayer needed to die soon, before she got too far in her training and killed them all. He turned abruptly, stopping and peering into the darkness of a smelly alleyway. "You told me to meet you here." He said, his voice deep and rough. The shadows seemed to shift, revealing the famliar figure. "I wouldn't lie to you, Tim." The man chucked, his old irish accent sounding, even though it's been long since he's had it. Timothy rolled his eyes. "Lila thinks I'm watching the slayer. She has no idea you're in town." He informed the other vampire calmly. "Good job. What about my ol' friend Spike? Does he have any idea yet?" "Not that I know of." "That's not a good enough answer. If he knew, well, it wouldn't be very good." The man growled, glaring at Timothy sharply. "No. Spike doesn't know." Timothy corrected himself quickly. "Better. Now, let's see about killing that slayer, shall we?" The man suggested, smirking and stepping out of the ally. "You have the honors, Angelus." ~ Chapter Four ~- Spoiler:
I sighed, staring at Ridley as she nearly tackled her watcher in a hug. He had arrived this morning, and choose the moment Rid actually decided training was a good thing and that she needed it, to appear. His name was Mike. I don't give a damn about his last name. First names are all I need, and I can remember someone. Once, I asked Spike his last name. He told me people didn't need them, that the were just a waste of words and crap. He always avoided that question, and I wondered if he even remembered it. He's only what, eighteen? At least, I think he is. He always looks the same. When I met him, he looked exactly like he does now. I never really thought about it, but now... "Sky? I'm talking to you!" Riley snapped at me, and I shook my head, snapping out of my thoughts. "Oh, yeah. sorry, Riley." I muttered, rubbing the back of my sore neck with one hand and hoisting my self up off the stairs with another. I nodded at Mike, and he just looked politely back. I checked my watch, and my eyes widened slightly. "Oh, crap. I gotta go." I said, grabbing my coat and slipping past Riley. I wasn't fast enough, because she grabbed my arm and turned me around, glaring. "Where?" She asked firmly, and I pulled my arm out of her grip and started again toward teh door. "Spike and I are going to have some actual fun. Unless fun is banned, just like everything else seems to be?" I retorted. Mike looked stunned, and he whispered something to Riley. Riley just shook her head and started explaining something to Mike. I took that as a "I can go", and left, slamming the door behind me.
~
Spike smirked when he saw Sky turn the corner, heading toward him. He nodded slightly at her. Sky smiled back, and he ruffled her hair and Skylar swatted his hand away, laughing slightly. "Haven't seen you for awhile, kid. Hangin' out with that new slayer, are you?" He asked her as the started down the dark road. She lowered her eyes, shrugging. "Ridley? Nah. Riley won't let me anywhere." She answered, her voice sounding irritable and annoyed. Spike had suspected the stuffy watchers would be like that, and four of them here? He was dead. They'd probably tell their three slayers what he was, and Sky would find out, and then what? All his hard work, trying to keep his secret unknown from the girl, would be blown in his face, and then there would be a stake through his heart, unless he stopped her. "She's not your mum, Sky. You don't have one. Ignore her. she's there to train you, not boss you around." He answered casually, and Sky just shrugged again. Spike watched her for as moment, and then kept walking. He then stopped suddenly, and Sky turned, raising an eyebrow at him. "Spike Co-" "Shut up for a minute, Sky!" He hissed before she could finish. He listened, and then turned. he caught a fist before it could hit him square in the jaw. "Well, well, well. That's not your usual approach, is it, Angelus? Sending some stupid vampire of yours to knock me out." He said, laughing dryly. He shoved the boy to the ground, glaring. "You're right. It was a distraction. Duh." He laughed behind Spike. Spike whipped around, glaring at Angelus, who had his arm around Sky's neck, keeping her still.. You could tell by her expression she was surprised, but mainly pissed off. "What's your bloody business with Sky, Angel?" he snapped, though he had knew why, it was so obvious. "Well, I don't know if you knew, but I'm a vampire, and she's a slayer. I hope you havent forgotten that, taking two down in your time. But then,, the great Spike went soft for a slayer! Two now, isn't that correct?" He said mockingly. Sky looked confused, and stopped struggling against Angelus's grip, staring at Spike. he did his best to ignore her, still focused on the vampire in front of him. "No need to remind me. It's not like you haven't either. But then Buffy happened to think I was better and ditched you, am I right?" "Shut up, Spike!" "Whatcha gonna do, stake me?" He said, laughing. Sky tried to pull Angel’s arm away from her throat frantically, her face turning slightly red from no breath. “You know, I almost feel bad for her, with two powerful vampires after her, for various reasons.” He said thoughtfully, smirking at Spike. Sky’s eyes showed that she was scared now, no longer furious. “Get out of here, and leave Skylar alone!” he snapped, stepping closer. Angelus pretended to look offended, and then chuckled again. “You know, at first, I thought I should avoid you, thought it might mess up my plans. But now, if the slayer knew you were a vampire, I wouldn’t have too!” He said, sounding triumphant. “Damn, where’s an extra soul when you need one?” Spike muttered, glaring. Spike heard Angelus’s little henchmen getting up and whipped around. He grabbed the boy by the collar and staked him swiftly, messing up the dust with his shoe when the boy disappeared. When he turned to snap something again at Angel, the vampire was gone. And he had taken Sky with him. ~ Chapter Five ~- Spoiler:
When you're a teenager like Mitchell and see a strange guy carrying Skylar Smith off while she's screaming and kicking, what do you do? You follow, of course. And that's exactly what the boy did. He trailed a good distance behind him, not sure if the man or Sky had noticed him yet. The girl looked scared out of her mind. He couldn't help but feel sorry for her. But where was Sky's irritating bodyguard? Spike or something. He frowned at the memory. His face had gone all creepy, and Mitchell wasn't afraid to admit that it had scared the living heck out of him. He had run like a baby, and no doubt the other boy had told Skylar. That'd be so embarrassing. Okay, so maybe he had a tiny crush on Sky. But it was probably because she was the only girl that didn't gush over him. It bothered Mitchell, so he bullied her, if that's what she wanted to call it. But he wasn't that mean. Sorta. Mitchell stopped when he suddenly noticed he couldn't see the kicking girl or the kidnapper. He started to get slightly worried, picking up his pace. The two were no where to be seen. Mitchell halted, catching his breath when he spotted something strange. It was a girl about their age, maybe older. She had jet black hair with purple streaks running through it roughly. Her eyes were a shocking green, stndng out against her pale, tight skin. She wore nearly all black except for her shoes, which were a bright, stand out purple color. The girl's foot suddenly lashed out, kicking her opponent in front of her, who Mitchell had just noticed. His eyes widened at the sight of him. He had the same ugly, twisted face as Spike had shown him earlier. The girl looked completely unphased as she whipped out a large hunk of wood that slimmed down until it was pointy. She shot it forward, sticking it through the boy's chest. Mitchell gave a startled gasp as the boy crumbled and turned to ash. The girl whipped around to face him, a look of triumph over her victory. "Are you spying on me?" She asked, frowning and slipping the wood thing away in her pocket. "N-No. I was folloing this guy and..." He trailed off, suddenly getting an idea. "He took my friend. I was going to get her, but I can't really... fight or anything." He said sheepishly, his cheeks burning as she smirked, looking amused. "Well, I'll help you. I'm Kasey Lillian. Who's this girl?" She introduced curiously, holding her hand out to him. Mitchell shook it warily, blinking in stunned silence. "Oh. Skylar Smith." He answered, raising an eyebrow when she looked suddenly excited. "Skylar Smith? No way! I've been looking everywhere for her and her watcher." "Excuse me?" "She's the original slayer, you know. I'm one of them also-" The girl cut off, suddenly noticing Mitchell's baffled expression. She just shook her head, looking impatient. "Well, let's go. Where'd they disappear off to?" She asked, her voice rising. Mitchell pointed a shaky finger in the direction he had been going, and in a second the strange girl was yanking him hurriedly off in that way.
~
Spike ran as fast as he could back to Sky's aparment. Which was pretty fast. He stopped at the porch, where Riley was standing, looking confused. "Spike? Where's Skylar?" She demanded, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Angel. Angelus is here and appeared. He took her and-" He was cut off by Ridley inside, who had apparently heard that and gasped loudly. Riley grabbed him and yanked him into the building, lookin furious and worried. Spike couldn't blame her. "Angelus? What's he doing here?" Ridley whispered, her eyes shining with fear. Spike snorted, looking annoyed. "What do you think? New slayer, new prey." He snapped impatiently. Ridley eyed him, scowling. Riley also did the same, her arms folded across her thin chest tightly. Spike collasped on the couch, starting a cigrette, but Mark snatched it and the lighter away from him, shaking his head scoldingly. Spike rubbed his face, frowning. "How could you let this happen, Willam?" Th male watche snapped, his face beet red. Spike rolled his eyes, relaxing in the couch and looking up at the watcher calmly. "Did you want him to snap her neck instantly? I couldn't. He has no soul. Angelus without a soul is not someone I want to mess with when he's got her trapped." He answered flatly, snatching his cigarette and lighter back stubbornly. "Besides, what would you have done?" He retorted. "You're a vampire, Spike." Ridley interjected, her fists clenched. Spike just looked at her, rasing an eyebow. "You have super strength and that crap." She continued, looking at him expectantly. "True. But so does Agelus." He replied, looking satisfied with her defeated expression. "Besides, he does't want her dead, I don't think. Otherwise he would of sucked her dry right then and there." He pointed out, leaning against the cushions proudly. The three humans seemed to consider this. "Fine. But we have to go get her, now." Riley sighed, rubbing her temple. "Spike, take Ridley to some places you might see him. Mark and I will look for places with recent masacres." He instructed. Spike reluctantly got up, following the second slayer out the door with a dramatic sigh. ~ Chapter Six ~Mitchell was starting to regret going after Sky. The farther they went, the darker the city got. He knew they were entering the part of town even gangs were scared of. Kasey kept forth though, with the human boy following behind her. "How do you know the slayer, then?" She asked suddenly. Kasey had sort of explained what a slayer was. She must be mistaking, because knowing Sky, she doesn't fight. At all. "She goes to my school." He said flatly, his hands shoved in his pockets. Kasey just looked at him. He shrugged, staring at his feet. "Oh. Okay then. Is she like, your girlfriend or something?" She pressed. Mitchell's eyes widened slightly. "No. I don't think she has one. Except for that one guy. Spike, I think." "Spike The Spike?" She asked, her eyes getting huge. Mitchell shrugged again, and they cotinued on in silence. Kasey suddenly froze, and Mitchell stpped behind her. He could hear voices around the corner. "Bloody hell, Ridley! Keep that stake away from me!" "Then you get rid of you're vampire face!" "Riley asked me too!" "Are you sure Angelus would take Skylar this way?" "What do you think? It's dark, creepy, and vampire filled." Michell regonized one of the voices. It was Sky's "bodyguard", Spike. They were looking for her too? Kasey jumped back when the two appeared. Ridley did the same, while Mitchell and Spike just glared at each other. Kasey spoke first, breaking the shocked silence. "Spike?" She said, looking bewildered. Spike just looked at Mitchell, who was taking in his face. It was all mashed up and weird. With the fangs again. Suddenly the other boy's face went normal when he looked at Kasey. "The one and only." He said, smirking slightly. Ridley watched both of them, looking confused. "We're looking for Skylar. I saw someone drag her away and Kasey's helping me. She says she's... uh..." Mitchell started, trying to remember. "Slayer." Kasey finished. Ridley's eyes brighted. "So am I! Sky was taken by Angelus. We were looking for him. Spike was really good-" Ridley was cut off by Kasey. " Angelus? It's like a dream come true today." She murmered, sounding giddy. Mitchell had the opposite thought. He saw the girl he liked beig kidnapped and met Spike again. Today was a nightmare. Well, then, lets go together!" Ridley suggested. Spike looked concerned and shook his head. "No way am I going with two slayers and a human boy!" He complained. Ridley and Kasey both narrowed their eyes at him and he frowned, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it quickly. "Never mind. Let's go before I get thirsty." He muttered, turning and stalking off in the other direction. The slayers followed, and Mitchell tagged along in back. What was he getting in to? ~ Lila was furious. The slayer was kidnapped. Kidnapped. By Angelus, who was back in town, according to Tim. Foolish Tim, thinking she wouldn't find out about his secret meeting with Angel. She had killed the betraying vampire just now, actually. She wiped her hands in her shirt and strolled toward the Master. He was as upset as she was, but not for the same reasons. "How could you make a betrayer, Lila?"He accused, glaring at her with icy blue eyes. Lila still hadn't gotten use to his new form. It wasn't as ugly or gross as before Buffy killed hi. He actually looked like a teenage boy. "I didn't mean to, sir." She said quickly, and stopped walking toward him. She looked up at him, her violet eyes wide. He just looked back at her, calming down slightly. "Of course you didn't." He murmered, and sat back down in his "throne". Lila shuffled back a few steps, feeling relieved. Her throat started to burned painfully. She hadn't had a drink for so long... "But you did." He added as an afterthought. The Master turned toward her, smirking slightly. "You can have some animal blood from now on until he figure this out." He decided, pleased with his punishment. Lila swallowed, wrinkling her nose. Animal blood was disgusting! She slowly nodded, backing up and heading up to the city. She had to go to a butcher. The Master would find out if she had human blood. Lila stopped, suddenly hearing voices drift toward the extrance to the Master's "hideout". She regonized Spike's british accent at once and hid, hoping he wouldn't notice her. He was with three humans, two that were armed with stakes. Then an unarmed boy was trailing behind them. She licked her lips at the sight of them. She saw Spike look her way, but he didn't say anything while the girls chattered to him and themselves. She suddenly got an idea, and moved out of her hiding place.
