The Dragon Egg Guide Empty
PostSubject: The Dragon Egg Guide   The Dragon Egg Guide I_icon_minitimeThu Jun 26, 2008 9:01 am

Have you ever wanted to have a dragon egg, but you're not sure if you could handle it? Are you afraid your egg/hatchling will die if you get one? Are you too confuzzled to sign up? Do you wish you COULD sign up? Well, here are the answers to all your questions!

Q: Okay, so I signed up. How do I get an egg?
A: If you signed up at the actual site and not the forum, then you're all good. Just go to the Cave Enterance. Every half hour (or, on slow days, every hour) there are 1-3 eggs there. They're all mystery eggs. Click on the one you want to obtain, but fast! You have to be logged in and ready to click! If someone else gets the egg, you can always go back and try for another one. Don't worry if your attempts are to no avail. Just keep on trying!

Q: I have my egg. How does it hatch?
A: You need clicks, unique views, and overall views, by the end of its hatching period. The number of views to hatch it differs for each egg and user. My suggestion is put your egg in your siggy, by clicking, "Get Code" on your scroll. But keep a careful watch. Too many views at once can result in an egg getting a soft shell!

Q: My scroll? Huh?
A: When you first sign up and you go to the cave entrance, there is a clicky that says you can take a scroll. Just click on that, and you will have started your dragon-ing.

Q: Okay, so what about that soft shell?
A: Soft shell is something that can either kill your egg or give serious birth defects to your hatchling. A soft shell happens when... (a) Your egg has too many views at once. (b) People on forums refresh topics you were on, therefore refreshing your egg to a soft shell. (c) You have bad numbers.(see next question) How do you stop the soft shell? You go to actions, then click on, "Hide". This will prevent the egg from being viewed. You can also post it on a less busy forum, meaning you'll still get clicks, but you'll also get a healthy egg.

Q: Bad numbers? What?
A: Okay, remember the part where you need clicks, unique views, and regular views? Well, there is a catch to that. It's like math. There can't be a higher number of clicks for your dragon than unique views. There can't be a higher number of unique views than overall views. It's like one of those problems where you have to calculate the sister's height with the heights of her siblings.

Q: What if I don't want my egg?
A: There are two ways to get rid of your egg: killing it or abandoning it. I suggest abandoning. Killing too many dragons can result in your scroll being burned. Just go to the "actions" clicky. Choose what you want to do.

Q: My egg is cracking! My egg is cracking! What's going on?! Did my dragon die?
A: Of course not, silly! If you see a crack or a hole in an egg, click click click to help it hatch! Be warned, though: a hole in the egg when it has 6.99 days to live is NOT GOOD. Your dragon could either die or run away from being forced with clicks out of its egg too soon.

Q: Oh my goodness! There's this lizard-baby sitting on my scroll! Is that my hatchling?!
A: No, it's your nephew dressed up for Halloween. OF COURSE IT'S YOUR HATCHLING! You obviously got enough views and clicks to have it hatch. Eggs, once they have big gaping holes in them, need a few quiet hours to hatch. I've never hatched an egg, which might make you worry this is not accurate advice, but don't worry. I'm totally cool with this.

Q: Phew! My egg hatched! Now I don't have to worry about clicks and views, right?
A: Wrong. Your hatchling needs to grow up. It has a time limit, like the egg. So, just advertise your hatchlings like you did with your egg, and, hopefully, a couple hundred more views will come to you and grow up your dragon!

Q: Uh-oh. I was viewing my hatchling and it said it was sickish. What happened?
A: Hatchlings have the same problems as eggs. They just got an older dose of soft shell. This might've been caused by its egg having a soft shell, or you might've just gotten it bad numbers. Just do what you did for the soft shelled egg, and hope for the best.

Q: Is there a way I can save my hatchling if its growth period is up and it hasn't grown?
A: Fortunately, yes. You can FREEZE it. This action only comes when your egg hatches, I believe. Freezing prevents your dragon from maturing, i.e. it stays the little baby it hatched to forever. But, it does save the little guy.

Q: Okay, so...my hatchling matured. What else?
A: I'm not really sure what the point of it is, but I guess you'd still need clicks and views to keep it alive.

Please do not advertise your dragons/eggs here!
