Wolf seemed to be having two conversations at once, one with Moonstar, and one with himself.
"You irritate me." Wolf stated simply.
Best friend's are traitors. He thought angrily to himself.
But you kinda.. Didn't exactly.. He was about to reply to himself when he cut.. himself.. off?
I'm going insane.

"Doesn't everyone?" Moonstar replied. His subject was quite fun to play with.

"Leave me alone." Wolf muttered under his breath. "Why are you even here?"

"I want to help you. Is that so much?" Moonstar asked. It was true, he did want to help Wolf.

"People lie," Wolf said quietly. "So I don't believe them."

"Are you not a person?" Moonstar retorted. He's not gonna lose that easily.

"Can't lie to myself," Wolf said, pausing. "So there's no reason to be suspicious of myself."
You can to lie to yourself, you lied to yourself about not suspecting Kira and Branch! The little voice in his head popped up.
He replied, Shut up.

"I think there's a thing called self-denial floating around," Moonstar retorted. He leaned against a tree.

"If you think so, then back up your reasoning, please." Wolf replied easily, sitting down and wrapping his tail around his paws.

"Well, if you have, let's say, a friend break up with you, you might think, 'Nah, she'll come back'-" Moonstar used his powers so that, when he slipped behind the tree he was leaning on, he would appear on the tree on the opposite side. "-when you know she won't make up. Sound familiar?"

Wolf stared at him, and then shook his head slightly.
"Not in the least bit." He replied bitterly.

"Exactly what I am talking about. Branchstar's not coming back for you. You know that," Moonstar laughed. "At least, without me."

Wolf looked curiously at him. "What do you mean?" He asked hesitantly, knowing this was a bad idea all around, just being here, talking to the traitor.
Then why don't you leave? He asked himself.
He had no answer.

"What I mean is that I can help you win her back from that Kira," Moonstar explained, saying the last word with disgust.

"How in StarClan would you do that?" Wolf asked, hesitant again.

"Anyway you would like me to; I am your servant for the matter, you could say," Moonstar smiled.

Wolf looked at him again, thinking.
Do it! The voice in his head said, advising him. You want her back, don't you?
You want her back, but you can't get her back THIS way! Think of what would happen to the Clans- There was the little angel on his shoulder it seemed.
"What would you want in return?" He asked cautiously.

"Nothing of importance to you," Moonstar replied humbly. This was only the beginning.

Wolf looked at him. "I do believe it is." He replied firmly.
Your getting yourself into a terrible mess. It was the little angel on his shoulder.
And then the devil on his OTHER shoulder. Shut up, he knows what he wants!

"Alright. I want to be able to take a vole once in a while from your pile. I'm only one cat here. I'll just swoop in and out, no interaction," Moonstar explained, hoping to be accepted.

Don't, don't, don't. He thought, knowing this would the worst choice in his life.
And even IF, there was the big word, IF, Moonstar managed to actually help Wolf get Branchstar back, wouldn't he be considered a traitor? It was the worst idea in the history of StarClan..
"I'll do it."

"It's a honor," Moonstar smiled, bowing. Of course, he would stick to his word. How he would do it, however, would be his choice.

Wolf looked over his shoulder. "I have to go now, the Clan'll get worried.." He said in a mocking voice, and then sighed. "Meet me here tonight at Moonhigh, and we'll.. Discuss things." With that, he padded off.

Mellowtail sighed, glaring at the camp entrance. She was itching to go hunting, but everybody was probably too scared to go out of camp. Maybe her friend would go? She padded about the camp, in search of him.
