Maksim turned away from her and padded through the forest. His eyes turned dark again, and a feeling of sadness came over him.

Layden struggled through the forest. Her wounds had stopped bleeding, but she was limping.

Maksim lifted his nose into the air and scented another coyote- and blood. He shivered and decided he should help, he wouldn't want the same thing to happen to this coyote as what happened with Setlay. He padded closer.
