INTRODUCTION:
WELCOME to the city of Zenith, the multi-cultural urban sprawl that is designed to bring all kinds of people together in harmony to create the perfect, self-sustaining city. The city that is situated in Europe was created by the British Parliament as a last resort caused by the credit crisis that was sweeping the world. Former Member of Parliament, David Tyler who left position after heavy disputes with the system was first in line to take up the role of developing this land which would soon become a massive urban sprawl and now with his two most-trusted vice presidents in tow, he set out to make the city of Zenith which has been dubbed “The Peak of Civilization” a wealthy and prosperous place for all.
WHERE YOU’LL GO:
The main point of access to Zenith is through it’s large aerial transport station, the “David Lambert International Airport” named after David Lambert who although no longer with us invested a lot of money to get the city on its feet. Once you’ve safely arrived in DLA you’ll be greeted warmly by courteous and mannered staff who will escort you to the parking areas where you can hail a taxi or get the bus and visit this beautiful metropolis in all of its glory.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE:
In the city of Zenith there are six major districts each with its own style and character. The type of industry, residents, employment rates, house prices and such will all vary depending on which area you go to and that of course is what makes Zenith so great as it is an incredibly diverse area.
ASPATRIA:
If Zenith has a heart then this is the tissue that holds it together keeping blood safely pumping in and out around the body. Aspatria is the upper-echelon of the downtown area where the political buildings, some of the more expensive skyscrapers and some of the highest quality shops in the city will be here. If you want to buy state of the art merchandise or visit some of the prestigious art galleries that are in the city then you go here.
DOWNTOWN:
Aspatria is a party of Downtown, but the Downtown section is much larger then Aspatria with bustling skyscrapers, shops, apartment blocks and other places of that nature are held. A lot of the central banks and head offices are here too and while crime can be plentiful the hardworking men and women of the ZPD and ZARLU police forces ready to take crime back to school where it belongs.
VORTON ESTATE
Home of all things industrial within the city, noise and air pollution may be high but the spirits of the people living there aren’t. A living nightmare to navigate this dirty, bustling industrial estate it is home to a growing culture of street racers and graffiti artists. However, ZARLU and ZPD will be right there to tackle Crime and punch it right in its acne ridden face.
MERIDIAN BAY
The sea front of this great city, The Meridian Bay is host to the Meridian Promenade which hosts some of the most beautiful and untapped sea resources left. Strict on litter, the beach is heavily patrolled for litterbugs and severe fines are handed out to those that try and tarnish this almost tropical seafront. If the beach isn’t to your liking however there are plenty of café’s, arcades and other amusements in this tourist paradise.
NEMOC ESTATE
Connected closely with the Vorton Estate and Meridian Bay, the Nemoc Estate is the slums of the city where the cheapest land goes to those with enough cash. A sign marked to welcome visitors into the Nemoc Estate stating “Welcome to Nemoc” in big fancy letters has been spray-painted over to say “Welcome to Hell”. The residents hate it, the outsiders hate it and Dave Tyler hates it as he does his best to make it better for everyone.
QUALITY HILLS
The home away from home, the Hills are completely detached from Zenith standing tall away from them nestling away some of the best kept natural woods and most expensive houses in the city. This place while may just be another boring suburb has some of the darkest secrets in Zenith just rife for exploring.
LEADERSHIP?
Three people run the city of Zenith and that would of course be The Mayor, David Tyler and Vice-Presidents Bryan Thompson who represent the right-wing ideals of the city and Richard James Lambert who is left wing. The three of them, although often rifted have successfully got this city off the ground and now all that is needed is new industry, new residents to take this place off the ground.
OOC IMPORTANT INFO:
The idea is that this is basically a big world where writers such as those perspective readers gather together and write stories for us to read. It’s all for the creative writing experience, something that the political staff (myself: Richard James Lambert and my friends Dave Tyler and Bryan Thompson) have at least 3 years in each being heavily committed to writing. We want to give creative freedom to do whatever you want and make it a fun place to write. Open up a bookshop? Buy a car? Get Married? It’s a huge written game of The Sims and it’s you, the members that we want. Though it may seem like aimless writing to some, those that have a competitive element will be able to vie for the awards section such as attempting to win Story or Writer of the Month, Most Original Character or Best Business will also be added in and will be voted on by the general public.
POOR IS COOL CAMPAIGN
With so many people wanting to be rich billionaires with machine guns and cocaine we figured so that we didn’t have an abundance of these characters we’d crack down on this by making some conditions. Though we pride our self on creative freedom to avoid having 800 mafia dons who own the entire city we’re removing that element by making it so that every character has an official job (which doesn’t necessarily mean office/shop worker, it could also be things like buskers or beggars and things of that element) and if you live in the poorer areas such as the Nemoc Estate it’ll be more viable for you to have “Gangs” which while won’t be highly organized will be groups of writers who will often get into scraps and occasionally meet with drugs, knives and the occasional pistol.
CENSORSHIP
We want everyone to have a good time and while we believe freedom of expression is a good thing a lot of people like to write about things that may seem offensive such as the use of coarse language or racism. Racism we have a strict policy against but we require that any story segments that have been written which contain OTT language or extreme sexual references have a [[WARNING]] banner in the topic title so that those who do not like to dabble in the more colourful reading material can avoid it.
OVERALL
So, to summarize. Zenith is designed to be an urban writing haven with many open-ends for storylines for any and all writers. We accept people of all talent, wannabe writers, decade long novel writers and etcetera. You can all come down to Zenith and immerse yourself in this fantasy world. What’re you waiting for?
