Socky's Off To Yellowstone!

Hum. Wasn't sure whether to put this in Off Topic or Announcements.

Yes, dear reader, you read that correctly! Tomorrow, my family is heading out to Yellowstone National Park! We'll be taking a segway tour, rafting, and riding the Alpine Slide! I'll also be taking pictures, and my li'l cousin, who's coming with us, might take a video or two. Expect to see a sock monkey in a lot of the photos. I take him with me, and he's sort of like our traveling gnome. We just pose him and take pictures, usually at the beach. SO yeah, this is the longest vacation I've ever been on, and the farthest west I've been since Texas. Not sure if the places we're staying at will have Wi-Fi, so that's why I'm putting it out there. I'll try to finish a chapter of My Bad today, but no promises.

Hiya again! Just got back from dinner at some fancy schmancy place after a day of river rafting (hence the name change) and Alpine Slide riding. Both of which were awesome. In rafting, I got to get on the literal FRONT end of the boat. Not IN the boat, sitting on the rim and holding on for dear life. Which was fun because we went through a lot of rapids, resulting in everyone getting soaked. Someone in the raft ahead of us fell off in the rapids called the Big Kahuna.

If you've ever been bull-riding (mechanical counts), that's what it was like on the raft. One hand was gripping the handle on the seat, the other in the air snapping blind photos, me getting tossed like a ragdoll as I yelled YEEHAW. :D Luckily, we got back to our hotel and I got a hot shower and dry clothes before I could catch hypothermia.

Wow, that sounds really fun! I wish I could have done that.

Actually, I'm not that old yet so I haven't ever gone river rafting, but it sounds epic! I wonder what those... "blind photos" look like... :P

I really need to try that sometime. xD

XD BTW, leather IS edible, I've never had it, though. Except maybe at summer camp, when I bit the seat of the bus pretending with a friend like we ate leather. I was 12, and the little kid (pro'lly six or so) FREAKED out. XD
