Once Upon A Sleepless Night

Once upon a sleepless night, a monster storm poured down;
relentless in its assault on a tiny little town.

Once upon a sleepless night. a mother came undone;
for of her two new children, she lost her newborn son.

Her remaining daughter was too young and didn't understand
her brother's disappearance at a single stranger's hand.

This tragety occured from a story left unshown.
Bitter anger and resentment from a secret left unknown.

Family secrets, twisted lies, leave a trail of broken dreams,
while each child learns alone that nothing's what it seems.

And as they grow, son and daughter want to make it right,
undoing what was done, once upon a sleepless night.

((Although this story may never see the shining light of day, I thought, for the sake of musing, I'd let it out to play.))

Yeah, the first line of this poem popped into my head the other day and I had to write it. I don't usually do poetry, so it's not as good as some people do, but it's decent. Hope you didn't fall asleep during it. ;)

I loved it, Pirate! I used to write a little poetry, but it usually was rants in little sections. xDD

Wow, It's very good! I like the way it flows! Though, I never understand poetry, but it's good none the less. xD

That was nice. You should write more. Though I'm hoping you don't do drugs or drink, it seems to have the slight influence of Edgar Allan Poe. ^^

Uh...no...drinking/drugs didn't have anything to do with this...or anything else I do...xD
