How do you make manipulations/graphics?

Hai, I didn't really know where to put this, so I put it here.

I've been wanting to manipulate or make some sort on graphic, like the banner here, or on all those warrior co.nr websites. :) I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and I have the basic understanding of it. I have searched for many tutorials but either can't find any or they don't help at all! If you know how to make graphics, please give me tips/tutorials, or link me some helpful websites.

Anyways, check out different buttons. Use photos, splash sheets, and especially the layer button. Opacity is a good option too. Basically, watch videos, read guides, etc.

Yeah...the videos that are up are nothing that I'm looking for. And I can't find a decent stock photo that is royalty free. ><

Royalty? And what do you mean by stock? I might be able to help; just tell me what kind of pic you're looking for.

Royalty free means it is free to use for things like manips. And by stock I mean the really High Def looking pictures...I dunno how to explain that. And they don't look like a disposable camera picture? There are tons on deviantArt too. I'd like some sort of cat one, that would go good with a good background. :P

It's nothing like Photoshop, but you can pretty cool things on there (:

Catza - for stock, try gettyimages :) There's an RF-only option when you search under Creative Images.

And as for manips... gosh, I'd help, but I have no idea whatsoever on how to do a tutorial over the computer. xD

You can do pretty much anyting on eGimp, even animate.
The banner above? Made on Gimp. My siggy? Gimp. Just search it on Google and odwnload it. It will take A LONG time to get used to it and get good but it'll be worth it!
