Adderfang yawned. The sky blackened a bit as he gazed around the clearing. He knew the others were here, and wondered randomly what Snakefoot was thinking. When would he go to sleep and when would he stop thinking too much?

Lock stumbled out of the alley between two buildings on Holly Road. He was alone and hungry. His mother had died and his sister managed to give inoccent looks enough until twolegs gave them food, but since she was hit by a monster on the thunderpath, he couldn't find food.


From afar he'd seen many wild cats hunting. He decided it couldn't be too hard, so he chased a squirrel across the thunderpath and up a willow tree that overlooked the thunderpath and the river. Lock warily climbed its wobbly branches but lost his footing and fell. He clawed blindly at the air as he dropped, and snagged a claw on one of the long, rope like willow branches, but it drooped under his weight and finally tore, leaving him to fall in a road drainage hole.

The willow branch got caught on one of its rough metal bars and reached the wet floor, but it was too thin to climb. He'd need someone to pull it out. His fur was matted wet with muddy flowing water, and for a moment he felt like a little otter in the pipe, but his mind snapped back into reality as he saw several rats crawl out, eyes glinting in the light that filtered through the pipes. He yowled for help, trying to claw his way up the willow branch.

EclipsePaw dropped the rabbit. "Okay, Frosty, copy me!" he demonstrated how to stalk and pounce. "Be quiet..." he stepped away.

FrostKit giggled and stalked around, than tripped over her own foot, making a thump when she fell. She heard EclipsePaw's sigh as he tried to hide a laugh.


JuniperLeaf looked down, licking her back uncomfortably. "Watcha' thinking about...?"

Eaglefeather glanced at the setting sun. I should be at camp, he thought in shame to himself. Suddenly he heard a sharp cry. "Cats!" he hissed. It didn't sound like a battle cry... perhaps it was a cat in distress?

Eaglefeather decided that if it was a cat in distress, he should help out immediatly- no matter what the risk. The swift jet-black tom raced through the forest, heading torwards the city, where the cry seemed to have came from.

Cloverheart spun around to see Eaglefeather. "What's the rush?" She meant for it to be a joke, but the fear in his eyes made her tone serious.

Lock heard the pound of pawsteps above him. He yowled again.

[He's in a storm sewer right?]

Eaglefeather stopped at the edge of the hard, gray trail [the sidewalk] and looked around. There were a few Twolegs, even though he didn't think there'd be any this late. "Say low," he whispered, creeping along the freshly cut grass in the shadows that the trees gave.

Lock mewed eagerly, but frightened. "I was stalking a squirrel on the willow tree and I fell in." he admitted. "Get me out before I become fresh-kill for these rats!" he said, looking over his shoulder. "Can you pull up the willow branch?"
