Posting styles?

~~CAN YOU TELL THAT I'M MAKING A VALIANT EFFORT TO MAKE CONVERSATION/KEEP RPC ALIVE? /SHOT~~

On Gaia, most roleplayers use posting styles that include at least a picture of your character and the character's names up at the top (if you don't know what I mean by "post styles", look at the last two posts here). I like using them because I adore putting colors together and whatnot, because sometimes the posting style says a lot about your character. What about you guys? Do you like them, why or why not? Have you ever used them, yes or no? Have you ever even heard of them? I like them, as I said before, and I kind of wish we used them here because they are fun to make/use/have/yeah. XD

I've never used posting styles, but it sounds like fun. Maybe I should try that sometime. You could use them yourself if you want. Hehe.

That's sort of neat. I've seen some people use them before, but usually not in role-plays. Still, it sounds like a cool idea! Maybe someone here should make post backgrounds and stuff.

See that would be cool 1 issue we are in muiltiple role plays so that might be a problem.

It's a neat idea, but unless you plan on writing out the posting style for every single post you make, it's impossible. Forumotion doesn't offer the ability to create your own 'posting style'. The same thing goes for the 'post background' idea. It'd be one thing if this site was on a much more complicated server, with advanced HTML and CSS but, instead we're on Forumotion, which is a free and much simpler server then those that are used for professional websites.

I do know that there are some forums out there that can use them -- I used to go to one where post backgrounds were really popular, especially in RPs -- but I have no idea what they're powered by, and it's definitely not free. D:
I could just be creative and create an image with my post text on it, but that would take forever...

@Jay: What do you mean? All I mean is creating a code with pictures, words, color, etc. with your reply, like, I'd create and then copy this:

Code:: [center][size=14][color=violet][b]CHARACTER NAME[/b][/color][/size]
[size=9]random text here[/size]
[img] PICTURE HERE [/img]
[size=11][b][color=violet]R[/color][/b]EPLY HERE.[/size]
[size=9]more random text here[/size][/center]

Then paste it and write my reply wherever:

Branch
shoot for the moon
Posting styles? PICTURE HERE

BLAH BLAH BLAH~
and land among the stars

But obviously not as stupid-looking and god-awfully ugly. I don't understand how that wouldn't work...?

I guess we were thinking of some other posting styles. Lan Fan and I use to know a place where you could put background images on a post and your text would show up over it. It looked pretty cool, but it's got to be as complicated as ... something. Complicated. To implement.
