An Ominous Wind... An Eagle and Hawk Role-Play

There are two clans of raptors, one of eagles and one of hawks. They have been around for many centuries, most birds think, usually in peace. There have been some battles, but only one huge war, called the Spirits' Great Battle. The leaders of the clans back then, Night's Wing and Starclaw, had sworn never to kill that much again. Only five members of each of each clan remained, and it took a long time for them to become populated. They were very peaceful for the next two hundred years, but now, two centuries later, small stirs of hostility have been happening in the clans. Will they bloom into another great war, or will they stay buds, never to open? You can decide, and make the difference between life and death for many eagles and hawks.

RULES:
1. No godmoding. This includes perfect characters and hitting all the time in battle/catching all the prey you target. See rule 3.
2. Do not control others' characters.
3. No auto-hitting. This means, give the foe a chance to dodge. This doesn't mean you never hit, but at least don't break two rules at the same time.
4. Erase the things in parentheses on the form if you've read this.
5. PM a person before killing their character/forming a relationship, please.
6. Your name can be anything, as long it's appropriate and fits a hawk or eagle. For example, no names like "Long Whisker" because eagles don't have whiskers.
7. You may have more than one character, but only one may be a leader/healer.

The clans are called the Skyfeathers (eagles) and Windtalons (hawks). Members would be called "a Skyfeather" (singular) or "some Skyfeathers" (plural). The same goes with the Windtalons (or a Windtalon.)

Personality: Serious, Tawnycloud wants the best for her clan. She almost never gives up, but can be hasty, and has a short temper. Inside, though, she has a caring heart. Tawnycloud is a stubborn bird.

Personality: Kuromaru is confident and soars high like... well, an eagle. However, he's easily distracted and once he is, he doesn't snap out of his dazed state for awhile. He's a natural leader but a bit irresponsible, and nervous during stressing times. He loves to fly, and takes care of his clan like a father to his chicks.
Appearance: Kuroumaru has a triangular, rounded head and a small beak tipped with gray. His large, sunken eyes are ridged and golden. his feathers are smooth aand black like a raven's, and his back has a long, thin streak of white on it. A large area around his primaries is filled with pure white, and his "identification mark" is a large white spot over his left eye. He has a stocky body and broad wings, along with short legs.
Strengths: His ability to fly is great, and he's unusually large for a Verreaux's.
Weaknesses: He is irresponsible, stressful and distracted.

Gender: Female

Species: Bonelli's Eagle
Personality: Tawny is motherly and kind, although rather inconfident. She's a good help during stressful times, and likes running around doing jobs for the clan. She can often be seen catching prey for the clan and stocking up the pile. She puts her clan way before herself and only stops hunting when there's enough food to go around. She likes babysitting chicks and keeping them warm under her wings.
Appearance: Tawny has a rectangular head and a medium-sized beak tipped with a dark gray. She has a ridge of feathers around her cheeks that appear to be the only things that separate her head from her neck. Her plumage is a gray-brown with white on the underbelly and some brown, lined-up flecks that start to fade on her legs. She has several white polka-dots on her back/ Her wings are long and thin, reaching off her back and over her rectangular, dark-tipped tail. Her bodyand legs match her wings.
Strengths: Rarely gets stressed out.
Weaknesses: She's a bit inconfident and worries too much/
Other: I like Rioru! :D

Accepted, Riolu. And answer to your question (by real life), there are no eggs for Tawnycloud and Kuromaru -- yet...

Tawnycloud plumped up her feathers, sitting on the cliff that was her nest.

"We need more sticks," she said, turning to Kuromaru. And with that, she took off, heading for the trees to find something to build it. For a moment, she flipped around to face her mate, who was a Bonelli's eagle. "I'll be right back. Don't leave."

And then she dove into the forest that was at the base of the cliff. After the windstorm last night, a lot of sticks had been blown down. There was a large one that was perfect, and she was big enough to carry it, so she grabbed it in her beak, although it was large, and flew towards the cliff. A gust of wind collided with the wall and pulled her up with it, and she landed gracefully, weaving the stick into the nest.

"We'll need leaves next," she said, "But first, we hunt. If you follow me, I can probably catch a deer for us. Or would you prefer something smaller that I can carry up here?"

Skyheart flew high in sky, eyes darting around, looking for prey.
She flew over a large river and swooped lower, and lower. Then she spotted it, a large silver, copper fish.
She flew down, and before the fish knew what was happening, it was already in Skyheart's jaws. She swooped upwards, and went back to her nest.

Personality: Brave but headstrong. Easily antagonized, it's difficult for him to resist retaliating against his enemy, and hates losing a fight. Cold and harsh, it is hard for anyone to grow close to him or even sympathsize, but all of his traits have a secret cause that lies buried within his mind.

Personality: Being one of the fastest birds on earth doesn't always help Stormsong. The rash, bold, sharp-tongued falcon is fearless but has a soft spot. He seems oblivious to affection *like my other charrie* and hates seeing mates with chicks for unknown reasons...

Kuromaru the Verraux looked to the side a bit. "How about we get something smaller than a deer so that there are no leftovers? I don't want the meat to rot while we're out an about. But first...." He jumped up and took off into the sky, only to dive down towards the trees. He managed to slow down near the trees and pluck off two leaves for the nest. Swiftly he pumped, rising higher with every stroke. He was soon at the level of the top of the cliff and let the two maple leaves flutter down and take their place.

"Now we hunt," he said, and spread his wings wide.

I can do it, thought a Bonelli's eagle, streaking through the sky in an airplane-like fashin. I've had lots of practice and this time I'll do it! She spread her wings wider and looked down. Perfect timing for a raven to be flying one-tenth of a league below her, its talons skimming the soft sky. It was very high above anything, so she could hunt effectively. This time, I'll do it.

Taking a deep inhaling breath, she folded in her wings and plunged down. she was heading for a spot just behind the black bird, and she knew what she should do next. She spread her wings again, slowing down just as she reached the raven's altitude. Quickly she flipped upside down, gaining and soon being underneath the surprised bird. As it stared in shock, she shot out with her talons and grasped it, slashing to dispatch it.

Breathlessly, an eagle smile broke across her beak. I did it! I caught prey upside down! Overjoyed, Tawny the Bonelli's eagle spiraled home.

And I made a typo earlier... Tawnycloud's mate isn't a Bonelli's eagle. Never mind about that.))

Tawnycloud couldn't help chuckling slightly. "All right, I'll see if I can find something. Tell me if you see anything worthwhile." She took off, circling above the forest. She could only see mice at the moment, but she knew there was something else.

Kuromaru spread his broad wings, flapped once, and jumped off the cliff, only to swoop up and start scanning the ground for prey.

In the distance, Tawny's eyes showed her a black Verraux's. Kuromaru! She had to tell him about her achievement. Swiftly she pumped twice, slowing down and resting into flight next to the black eagle.

"What is it, Tawny?" he asked.

"I caught this raven upside-down," she gasped.

Kuromaru didn't appear to care, but the Bonelli's knew that there was a lot on his mind. "I've been working on it for awhile, and it's gotten me hungry."

"Go ahead and eat it."

She joyfully swung herself through the air and landed on a thick tree branch, beginning to eat the bird.

Finally, there were two rabbits below. Mates, perhaps, Tawnycloud thought. Kind of like her and Kuromaru...

She turned and glanced at her own mate, nodding towards the ground, and mouthed, "Hurry." There, she waited for him.

((Your next post doesn't need to be long, Riolu. Just state that he nodded back to Tawnycloud or something so that they dive at the same time.))

Kuromaru circled her. "I thought we weren't allowed to kill parents," he said.

"I actually don't think they're mates," Tawnycloud replied. "They look more like friends or siblings to me."

With a closer look, she could tell that neither of them looked like they were the other's mate.

"Clear. Let's go."

She dove onto the one on the left, catching it square in her talons. Then she flew back to the nest, glancing over her shoulder a few times for Kuromaru.

Personality: Gentle and kind to all, but if any birds of her clan are in danger she won't hesitate to use her powerful talons. She tends to daydream.

Kuromaru nodded and looked down. He stretched his wings as far as they would go and silently descended upon the terrified rabbit. The next thing he knew the rabbit was struggling in one of his talons. He quickly grasped it with the other so that it wouldn't fall and escape. He soared back to the nest, placing the rabbit gently on the ground.

Tawny looked up from her meal. "You're back." It wasn't a question. Before her next bite, she asked, "How was the hunt?"

"Good," Kuromaru answered simply, gesturing to his prey.

Tawnycloud began to peck at her kill, nodding for no apparent reason. She tore off a piece and began the meal.
