Pixel tutorial -Shading & Creating-

I’ve created this tutorial for all of you who have always wanted to create a pixel. I’ve got lots of Pms of people asking. if I could teach them how to pixel. So, I made this for MS paint, or any other program you are using. So for all of you, here is a little Easy Guide pixel tutorial. I hope you enjoy it!

Note: All the pictures, except for the finale step, are smaller then they look. I used the magnifying glass to make it easier for you guys to see!

Starting Your pixel

I’ve made a Ice cream pixel to help me make this tutorial. First of all, pick the colors you want to chose for you ‘base’.

The colors I well be using are these:

Now, take the Pencil Tool, and draw what you want to use! Here is what I made:

Great! Now lets get to the next step!

Shading your pixel

Shading. That’s what you need to do to make you pixel look great! Instead of just taking the fill tool, keep on using the pencil tool. I would recommend you not to use the fill tool if you want your pixel to be more neat then messy!

Now, follow these steps of shading, and you well soon learn!

Steps for the Ice Cream:

Step 1. Take the first color, the darker colour of your shading colors you are going to use, and do this:

Step 2. Now, take the second colour which is ligther then the first, and do this:

Step 3. Take the third color which is lighter then the second, and do this:

Step 4. Now, take the forth color which is lighter then the third, and do this:

Step 5. Finally, put the last colour which is lighter then the forth, and do this:

Steps for the cone of the Ice Cream:

Step 1. Take the first color, the darker colour of your shading colors you are going to use, and do this:

Step 2. Now, take the second colour which is ligther then the first, and do this:

Step 3. Take the third color which is lighter then the second, and do this:

Step 4. Now, take the forth color which is lighter then the third, and do this:

Your Done!

Congratulations! You finished your pixel! You learnt how to shade, and make the base. You see? Pixeling is easy, and very fun! Remember, this is a simple guide. There are many other pixels which are way harder then this.

That's great! Your be a pretty good pixeler when you get used to it. :)

Just that the top of it, it should of been more in the middle.

oh oh! I made 3 ipods with the same shading technique, except the light was coming from the side, not the middle. I wish I cold show you them, but Sparkle sent them to me(she had to crop them for me) and I lost them. =(

Thanks! Weird.. Maby you got some special "Admin" power. :p

Yeah, there are many ways of shading. This is just the way I do shading. You can do it by starting in the middle, left, right, top or bottom, well, you get the point!

I think its like making the words Strong. Like darker, o you can notice it more easier.. I don't really know, though.

It was weird! It said strong because I was using bold. But it works now! But, yeah, I bet you were all thinking it was odd.

Awesome pixel! I saw you did one for your site that Say's Bookmarks on it too! Yeah I thought it meant Bold, just wasn't quite sure, since I don't know much about those types of codes. 8)

I don't no anything about CSS. I only know about HTML, so many that's why. Oh my gosh, I'm confused! :P

Me neither. I just upload a HTML and put it there. I use Paint to make it.
