A question those smart people- Mind boggling much?

Me and Socky had this assignment to write 100 questions- about anything. I thought and thought and thought of one that still is a good one. Here are the facts I state before I show you this in case you didn't know:

- Fire needs oxygen to burn.

- Outer space is a vaccum (no oxygen)

- Sun has no atmosphere like w/ oxygen

- It's constantly blowing up and making fire and stuff

So:

Why can the sun burn and stuff if there is no oxygen in space?

The Sun 'burns' nuclear fuel that does not need oxygen. Nuclear energy
comes in two forms: fission in which heavy elements are broken down into
lighter ones; and fusion in which light elements are 'fused' together to
make heavier elements. Stars 'burn' by nuclear fusion.

See! I'm smartical! lolz

Oh..... Well, NVM XD But doesn't that make an explosion with fire? Or not?

Because Blue, the sun is made of a burning gas!

Yeah Suburbia put in the way I would have said...

But if it's made of burning gas, it needs oxygen to burn, right?

No, because it's NUCLEAR FUEL!

And it also doesn't need the oxygen because the fuel is incredibly flameble. (sp)
If you were to toy with that kind of nuclear energy down here on Earth, it would most likely burst into flame. :'D

... Unless you did it in chambers...


They are trying to figure out a way to use Nuculear energy to power our homes...
